This might earn be a hit with the dumbstick, fwiw.

but...

up to this point, Frank & staff have earned the benefit of the doubt on recruiting.  I can't think of anybody that they've successfully recruited to this point that was a complete washout.  They've all served a purpose, Luis included.

So add that with more national success/attention, and it doesn't seem likely that recruiting will suffer anytime soon.

Well, if you want to hit that button, next November might be a more appropriate time.  But even then, I'm not sure.  Fallback plans and transfers have worked out pretty well so far.

That's the model I've been going with, though I will be pretty  :runaway:  if we don't get some elite mentions this summer.

Probably just one of those things where Frank forgot to call.  If he sends Curtis some flowers and insists that he is sensitive, too, and has feelings, then it'll probably be ok.  May cost him an evening going to see the latest Sandra Bullock chick-flick, though.   :dunno:

It was never my contention that the extra pub from winning was going to help recruiting volume significantly (though it can't hurt). I was always of the belief that Frank needed some credibility to go along with the relationships that he and the staff had created.  My hope is not that the on court success is going have kids flocking to K-State...more that it will help the close ratio.

Also, while it makes me uncomfortable to not be obviously in contention for any of the '11 elites, I can't complain about the talent that has arrived to campus since Frank has been hired.  My expectations are to be pleased with the class put together come November. (however I reserve the right to pull the panic meltdown switch at anytime between now and then....or after then)

it's just a matter of being on natl tv and having recruits know/assume that you'll be on natl tv when they're playing.  if you could get tons of games on natl tv (espn and espn2, plus sportscenter) without winning, it would have the same effect.  but you can't.

i feel like i say this all the time, and lots of people never really understand it (not talking to yosh).  it's not that they see a team on tv and they think "hey, i want to play there".  it's that they see which teams are on tv and only choose from among those teams because they want to play on tv.

Bingo. TV matters as much as anything else.
