Wow accountants don't get paid crap

i know a guy who has been tenured at kstate for probably 25 years. he doesn't make crap. probably is the lowest paid tenured person there. never works either though so i guess he has that going for him.

I don't know much about the structure of academia, but from my limited understanding, tenure is a stupid concept.  Anyone else get such job security in their industry just for meeting a minimum standards and simply being around more than 4 or 5 yrs? 

it may or may not be a stupid concept.  but it certainly isn't a case where you get tenure just for hanging around and meeting minimum standards.  lot of hires do not receive tenure.

I hate him for the twisted spell he has over a huge portion of our school/alumni who still think he is some altruistic genius and no one will tell him to take his family and GTFO of Manhattan.

Even my own wonderful mother thinks he is just a great guy when he really is just a greedy worm who doesn't have the balls to mug you to steal your money, but will break into your mailbox or forge a check by adding a "0" on the end of the amount or some crap.

there's no minimum standards and i only had to be there for one year. it's almost impossible to fire me now. not that anybody would want to, i'm pretty amazing. but still...

I hate Jon Wefald because KSU is still paying him 255k per year to be a "Professor" and his son Andy 93k to be an "Asst Professor" and Ruth Ann ???k to be on the "Advancement Council".

If Andy is really making 93k as an asst prof that is crazy stupid unless he has some other duty not mentioned.
