Part of it is we were extremely spoiled by last year's team on the road in league play. We went 6-2 and handled some pretty good opponents on the road, plus we were amazingly consistent comparing home and road efficiency.
Our home offensive points per possession last year (league games only) was 1.05 and defense was .96, for a difference of .09. On the road it was offense PPP of 1.08 compared to defense of 1.01 for a difference of .07. Our offense on the road was really good and made up for giving up a few points, which is bound to happen, even against mediocre teams.
This year at home we are offense PPP of 1.10 and defense of .92 for a difference of .18. On the road its offense PPP of .89 to defense of 1.12 for a difference of -.23.
Granted, we've played 2 of our toughest 3 road games already, and as MIR said things "should" even out as more teams play more favorable road games. But if our offense continues hovering around .9 PPP on the road we aren't going to win many games unless we play lights out defense for 40 minutes which this team just hasn't shown it can do.
