Iowa State's new basketball practice facility

jezus that thing is hideous.  It looks like a cross between an old YMCA and a Navajo Indian reservation.
I wouldn't put the sewage lagoon by the front entrance.

Its a pond and landscaping all around it has made it look pretty good. That was literally 1 day after construction workers handed the keys over to the ISU AD and said "move that bus."

It's a practice facility, it is complete, and is state of the art in every way possible. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :jerk:

Havs, thx for the pics. Considering the odds of KSU having a 'state of the art' or even a 'never gonna, don't wanna' practice facility within the next decade are slim to none, it's quite an accomp. the landscaping is magnificent and will be envied nationwide. Can't wait to see Hoiberg and the juggernaut product he will present on the court.

Ooh, nice outfit. What is that, Dacron?

Looks like something you would see off of I-70 between Knob Nobster and Columbia.

Good news is if the basketball thing doesn't work out you could can easily convert it to an Orslen's Farm Supply and not miss a beat.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

The plan in 10-20 years is actually to build a newer, better practice facility adjacent to Hilton Coliseum and sell the current practice facility since it is in a rapidly growing commercial part of town. However, the practice facility seems to be in a good location for today's needs since most basketball players live out in West Ames anyway and only head into campus when they have a class or game. However, I don't think it'll become a new Orslen's Farm Supply (Creative name if you made it up, never heard of it) since we got a new Theissen's on the Southeast side of town near Highway 30 and I-35. Check it out at http://www.theisens.com. I'm in farm heaven when I go in there, so your made up store, or store that doesn't even come close to being as good as Thiessens, is as irrelevant as your wheat field with a 'Coming Soon, New Basketball Practice Facility.'

BMW could take a lot of pointers from Havs on how schools that were beat by KSU in every sport but men's basketball should act.

Thanks for the breakdown, 'Havs.

Good to have that contingency plan in place when/if the Clones drop the men's basketball program in a few years and you'll need to retrofit the basketball training center into a farm implement and supply store on the rapidly expanding west side of Ames.

Uncanny resemblance.  Same colors and everything.

Ohhhhh, they have one of those in Boone. They would oversaturate the market if they turned the Bball practice facility into one.
