head to head results, big 12 standings, financial standing, relations with the NCAA, haven't been investigated by the FBI, we don't have former employees going to federal prison, haven't been on probation in the last decade, etc... the big 12 titles basketball are impressive, absolutely. that's a given. they do count. but the athletic department as a whole, head to head between the two schools, i think it's obvious.
Head to head results? KU is 43-3 against K-State in basketball and 4-4 in the past 8 years in football. We have a larger athletic budget and more total revenue than K-State. KU is in good standing with the NCAA and the FBI investigation found no wrongdoing on the part of KU. What the hell does any of that have to do with athletic success anyways? Bottom line is that an athletic department is judged on winning their conference and winning on the national level. KU has national titles, BCS Bowls, Big 12 titles, etc, while K-State has a few top 5 finishes in a couple sports and a Cotton Bowl appearance. It's really not even close, bro. KU is the better athletic department, and until K-State starts winning the Big 12, that won't change.
that's a convenient time snapshot for your football results. here's another one... k-state has won the last three, with a combined 118 - 28 in the past two years. do you not take into consideration that your football program is absolute dog crap right now? that's the most important sport beems. you've won the conference in ONE SPORT. like i said, ku's basketball program is outstanding. i know that. get that through your head. it's not like i'm forgetting about ku's basketball program in this discussion.
i also like how you talk about "bcs bowls" in a plural sense. ku back doored itself into the black sheep of bcs bowls because of lew perkins being good at that kind of thing (i'm jealous of that. good for lew and you guys). mizzou deserved the bowl and you know it. do you really think anybody remembers who won the orange bowl in '08 other than ku fans? to act like that was a bigger bowl game than what the cotton bowl was this year is asinine. so since we're talking about the CURRENT status of ad's, points go to k-state. your football program is a joke at its present state. please know that it does matter.
so yes. currently if you looks at our athletic departments, as a whole, k-state is better.
