Mrs SF just got an 80k business Southwest offer. Is this more than normal. Prob going to get it and pair with a personal to continue the companion pass rotation. My round the last two years was  :Yuck: thanks to Covid.

I'm good to get this now right? My third statement should cut Jan 2022 so the points hit then and not 2021 unless i mess up, correct? i can never remember the timing here.

Also, Chase messed up my rebooking. They didn't ticket the new flights somehow. On my second 45m call as they are scrambling because i think the flight is full now.  :sdeek: I'm being very nice but  :curse: :curse: :curse:

LOL. Got rebooked. "Uh, thank you for the long wait Mr. SF, I have you ticketed this time and I wanted to let you know that in doing so, the new flight was less expensive with a savings of $24.59 per ticket. However, airline policy is that any savings below $25 are forfeited". haha

that is great. I can see them getting ready to leave and taking mental notes of things they might forget in their carryons. Headphones, iPads, kids snacks, extra batteries, chargers....8 port surge protector for the plane. haha

Every day around 4:30ish. It’s walk time.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Guys, Dog SF might be a complete psycho. The sweetest damn dog i've ever had, but quirky as crap. She must have gotten crap kicked from behind as a pup. If we are on a walk and she hears a noise or if someone is behind us, its ass to the ground or she will even lay down in the middle of the street. No one can be behind her. Its annoying as hell trying to get a walk in. I have to either stop and wait for them to get head or go up a random street so people aren't behind her.

I have an LG CX, and it is by far the best TV I have ever owned. It sucks that you are having problems with yours. :(

yeah, its my second one so I'm out on LG.

a bunch of my neighbors have those and they look cool. one of my neighbors has one of the roomba ones that just mows on its own but I can't tell if it does a good job or not. I want to go see because outside of mowing over a billion whiffle balls and small children and whatnot it seems like a no brainer. AND one of my neighbors has a remote controlled one like from Honey I Shrunk The Kids and it even looks like it's a homemade thing because it is not, like, sleek looking. I'll try to grab a pic of it sometime. the kid is always in the driveway driving it around the grass.

Report back on this. I've been looking at the Husqvarna one. I think its like 3k. My issue is that I would either need two of them or I would have to move it front to back somehow. I'm either going to buy one of those or the electric rider from Ryobi.

I had to go back and look this up because wow

good discussion of it here too: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/897092-anti-gay

These people are so weird. Like, someone being gay has zero affect on anything you will ever do. Based on his comment, he thinks being gay is worse (or at least on par) with murdering people. I'm sure some of it is shock value, but man.

Anyhoo, I'm starting The Anti Social Network by Ben Mezrich. Its about the Gamestop situation. Haven't gotten into it much yet, but Mezrich's books are usually fun quick reads. Will report back soon.

very torn on downtown baseball.

Love the idea of it, but coming from the burbs, where'm I gonna park?

There will be plenty of spots to park, but you will also gain places to eat and drink before and after as opposed to sitting in your car or driving right home. It will be great.

I would try to get all my money back from LG

yeah, I have little interest in that effort. They will come out and look at it in several weeks for several hundred dollars though!  TVs are basically free at this point and it isn't worth it, especially since its an apparent issue with their brand. I just don't want to toss it, but also don't want to dump it on anyone.

So i'm on my second LG after returning the first one for a similar issue. Their HDMI ports are crap. They lose signal and glitch all the time. There are complaints about them online which I wish I had noticed prior to my return. Anyhoo, i'm prob going to get another TV, either a samsung or vizio as i've never really had trouble with either of those. My question is, when my tv isn't glitching, its still pretty new and has a great picture. It honestly doesn't glitch too much, just enough to annoy me and make me want a new one. What do I do with it? I can't sell it to someone with it glitching. I don't want to throw it away? Does anyone take and either fix or recycle them?

I'm still not sure OG Jared is straight.

Despite my girl Sarah screwing herself over I was pleased. I was hoping that at least one of them picked a eff boy and he took the money. When she picked Garrett, I was so happy he took the money.
Although I was not happy when they took the money from him and I'm convinced that was rigged because there's no way they're taking $100,000 from anyone add they'd just be cool with it. Bezos would lose his crap if someone took $100,000 from him.

This was lame and I’ve now spent 30 minutes trying unsuccessfully to find the contestant contracts.

First Ep of White Lotus last night. I thought it was ok, but Mrs SF is not grabbed a bit and already wants to bail. Does it take a few eps?

It failed to meet expectations but it's still good TV. It's only six episodes so I'd stick with it. The show never really ramped up like I thought it would. I think episode three is when it picks up because you can see things ratcheting up between Shane and Armond.

Mrs SF is barely hanging on 4 eps in, but i'm really enjoying the show. Love how it just bounces around to everyone. Armand is just the best.

 :frown:

Did you finish it?

No, what happened to him hurt me so badly I didn't watch the last 10 minutes.

Need expert travel people (SD) opinion here. Should I change my flight to Turks? I currently have a 38 min change in Charlotte that is making the fam nervous. My other options are a bit under an hour or like 2.5 hours. I'd love to just keep it as it gets us there the fastest by far, but I don't know what happens if I get delayed in KC. It seems everything has to go perfect for that to work and I'm surprised it was even an option.

What would an expert traveller (SD) do if they were in this situation with the family?

The whole fat shaming vs vaccine shaming argument is bullshit.  Like how people say if the message from the beginning was to live a healthier lifestyle then you would be safe would have made a difference.  If you choose to live an unhealthy lifestyle, you already know you should be healthier.  Most of those people aren't changing crap.  Oh and hey, how bout the gov just get rid of fast food joints!  They can't mandate vaccines, but they can take away our eating choices!
It's not bullshit, if you live a healthier lifestyle you are healthier.  Can't take away your eating choices but they can tax the crap out of it they wanted to.
I've already stated numerous times if you haven't gotten covid-19 you certainly should get the vaccine.
Question: Did anybody else's weight subject you, your family or your friends to any negative health risks this week? How about anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers, or those unable to get vaccinated?
Yes, my fat friend that works out with me did less reps in a partner workout so I had to do more work. And nope but we have seen an upswing with our 3 year old getting sick more often recently now that things have picked back up.

Been thinking about this. My kids have been sick twice already this school year. I think we made it all last year with one minor cold. Same mask requirements at school. I'm sure its because people are getting out more so the kids are getting exposed to more staff than last year, but I was hoping we were going to track the same this year because of the school mask requirements. Did the kid cold virus mutate and now masks don't work on them anymore?  :ohno:

I'm not afraid of getting covid but I'd be pissed if I caught it from an unvaccinated dumbass

Same, or if one of those dumbasses gave it to my kid or family member.  :curse:

My wife’s coworker’s 10yo son got infected by an unvaccinated teacher at his school. My wife’s coworker’s wife now gets to stay home from work for 10 days while their kid isolates. Fortunately, her job has a policy that provides days off for this sort of thing. A huge pain in the butt for them regardless.

I would really have a hard time at the next parent teacher conference. Hello Mr. SF, little SF is doing really great but needs to work on.......eff you, you stupid son of a bitch. You aren't smart enough to teach my kid anything.  :curse: :curse: :curse:

Kansas State Football / Re: phog.net realignment gems
« on: September 17, 2021, 01:32:39 PM »
Too bad absolutely none of the phoggies are cognizant of two huge barriers to their value in realignment:
- Worst football program in the P5 several years running
- Worst football stadium in P5

It never ceases to amaze me that these people are blind to this, and are forever stuck in this delusion that Lawrence is one of the best college towns in the country ( ! ), and that KU is an elite academic institution.  When I first graduated and moved to KC for my first job, I rented a house with a KU grad who constantly referred to K-State as a glorified vo-tech school, and KU as Harvard of the Plains.  He stopped when he learned that I couldn't stop laughing every time he said it.

They are a strange bunch for sure. I worked with a guy who grew up and went to Iowa and then grad school at an SEC school. One day, he just randomly asks me, "what is up with KU fans?" I just laughed and said, what do you mean? He said, "i've been here like 2-3 years now and I've never been around fans like this. They are the most arrogant fan base I've ever seen and I grew up in Big 10 country and went to school down south". I just laughed my ass off and said, yep, that's about right and walked on.

All those food choices at a regional airport are bizzare to me. Nobody has layovers in KC. I guess targeting the dads that drag the family to the airport 3 hours early? At most you need a coffee shop, 12 bars, and 3 Hudson Books.

Yep, in 2 years max 90% of those places are going to be gadget stores and/or McDonalds.

yeah, this is my worry. Its like 36 minutes if my flight from KC to there is on time. I may look into switching.

the thing about charlotte (tier IV airport on on a IV tier scale) is that you can get dropped on one end of some giant hallway and the only way to get to your gate at the other end of another giant hallway is just to haul ass. I've done a hung over fully suited jog a couple times. sucks bigtime.

yeah, i've done a Charlotte run and it wasn't great. I was by myself for work so I didn't care. This is vacation with the fam. How does this work? I booked via the Chase portal and that was a listed flight combo. It isn't like I picked it myself. Now I'm getting a bit nervous. Should I try and switch? Will they wait for us? Will my family enjoy a week in Charlotte as much as a week in Turks?
