Why does Currie look like he is planning a serial killing spree?

He's obviously concerned that Sam may be a booster, and the trophy he just presented could technically be deemed a gift which would be a compliance violation.

Sorry to take a metaphorical dump on this thread but to answer your question, we won't get tired of it. Currie's résumé is nearing completion, then he's off to the SEC and the side effects of a "safe hire" kick in.  :flush:

Please tell me I'm full of crap. TIA

Kansas State Basketball is hard / Re: I hope we win
« on: April 03, 2012, 11:55:48 PM »
And all it took was a little input from Steve Dave and all of Wildcat Nation supported the man.

no they didn't you rough ridin' dumbass.
I'm sorry, but most fans won't want to see our program lose. IMO, it would put us in an even deeper hole.
No fans want to see our program fail, or else they wouldn't be fans. Whether you agree with it or not there is a school of thought that there is a long-term benefit if a coach or A.D. fails so we can get a decent replacement.
I don't agree with boycotting games and shitting all over the team. But airplane banners and billboards saying "Fire John Currie" takes out little collateral damage, if any. Not the players, not the coach, just the F'ing A.D. who put us in this dilemma. If Weber wins and continuous to win 5 yrs down the road, the program will be fine. I still will refuse to give Currie credit in the unlikely event that happens, because I am convinced his motives were to serve his own best interest and not the programs.

the next step is to hit a home run with the next hire, and if k-state is willing to fork over the big bucks to "undo what's been done" (from '12), the future should be bright with a viable candidate that trends upward.

I think the best opportunity for a home run hire we may ever have in our lifetimes was just in front of us, and Currie took a big dump all over it to serve his own interests and values. The dangling carrot for a home run hire was a brand of basketball that is nationally respected, the excitement of opening up a new practice facility, and inheriting a core of quality players capable of making a deep run in the tournament.
2 or 3 years down the road we may have a couple NCAA runs, but Weber's personality will not intrigue the press to promote the K-State brand like they did when Frank was here. The practice facility will still be there, but competing programs may be planning or building comparable facilities or improving their existing ones to compete in the never ending facilities arms race. We don't know what kind of players will be left over from the Weber regime, but history has shown us that it will likely not be near what it is now. I think our talent level will be of the quality of the team Altman left Asbury. Maybe enough to get to the NCAA the first year, but essentially a rebuilding effort all over again.
Currie's move here will shape the culture of EMAW nation for years, and I fear it will turn us to a "happy to be in the tournament" fanbase, and not a contender for final fours. He'll make tucks of us all (unless we start liking other teams).

pregame speech:

"if you have a hand, and you have five individual fingers, it is much more powerful if it becomes a fist. and tonight, you are the fist. you are the more (more) powerful object than the hand. and that's why you will be successful today, guys."

outcome:

illinois lost.

Postgame speech, "Well, we got fisted again tonight."

KWCH is reporting that Weber will talk to Unds this week about staying.  :dunno:

Maybe he means Currie has one of these to make his turds more manageable, and somehow got his brain in it?  :dunno:

Face it you are way outnumbered by "fan" like this

Anybody even remotely thinking about getting rid of Currie has a serious problem. K-State athletics has NEVER been in such good shape, not even close. The mess with Prince was solved, we have a fantastic new BB facility about ready to open and an Icon-type West Side addition to BSFS breaking ground. All toll about $100 million in new construction. This all happened in 3 years under John Currie. The previous 100 years combined didn't amount to that and some jerks on here are ready to trade it all in for a coach that left by choice. My God, coaches leave every job, that's how the game goes. But finding someone who was able to turn a joke of an AD into a prime example of how an athletic dept. should be run is inded a rare find. John Currie is on the verge of being the 2nd Miracle in Manhattan. We'll find out when the new HCBB is announced and how the new guy produces.

How soon some people forget or is it a case of not knowing the history of K-State's Athletic Dept. Either way you never had it so good. Take time to stop and smell the roses before taking such radical reaction and suffering the consequences. EMAW!!!.

As stated above -
"This thread also is not about debating/ranting about the merits of the Weber hire. We already have approximately 90,000 threads for that."
Reading comprehension is an important skill that most of us learned in grade school.

You may want to review your report cards from grade school under the section labeled "reading".  Seems to me that was a rant about the good things that Currie has done and not about Weber. :dunno:

He also broke this rule, which is also more applicable.

"If you want to defend Currie, go start a "Official Don't Go To War Against John Currie" thread and post in it. Don't clutter this thread up trying to defend him. We know the positives of what he's done here and yet they pale in comparison to firebombing our basketball program."

The point being this isn't a thread for defending Currie (and his antics). People can put that crap on other threads.

FOCUS ON THE TASK AT HAND, PEOPLE!!! :chainsaw:

chalk his sidewalk!!!!

Are those lots available next to his house?

I seldom get up this early on a Sunday. I woke up in the middle of the night so angry I couldn't get back to sleep. Bad things are happening to our basketball program, I want bad things to happen to Currie. Nothing fatal, mind you. Just things that would make him want to leave our fair alma mater sooner rather than later so we can try and rebuild the image of our program.

13
Every time you hear a tuck give the cliché response that we need to support our coach and administration, physically or emotionally harm them (there are many ways to do this, be creative). In time it will help purge us from this loser culture that has infected much of our fan base for years, and brought us to a situation where A.D.s like Currie think they can get away with this.

14
what would be the best way to tell Currie and Schulz that I'm not renewing my tickets because they hired Weber?

By having someone with the authority to do so fire him (or make him want to quit). thank god someone on this site with post count street cred finally started the War on John Currie thread => http://goEMAW.com/forum/index.php?topic=20496.0

Let this thread die and post your ideas there. Let's get this done.

We can count me as one of the few who stood outside the bram today holding signs and wearing a gottlieb headband (compliments of mr. kk)
What the eff have you done about it lately?
Good for you, but a pro Gottlieb rally doesn't intrigue me enough to make the drive up there (and obviously didn't make a difference). I'm looking for ideas that would make Currie either GTFO or convince him to tell Bubbles "oh never-mind, I was just kidding. The job isn't yours."

16
"John. The program is at a critical crossroads where we just lost one of the winningest coaches in the history of the program. Yet with a great core of players and a new practice facility the momentum of K-State basketball is at an all time high. This is the best opportunity to hire a quality coach that will make a splash, yet you hire a coach that was only being courted by mid-majors. if you were in a fire today I would leave you to die. Oh, I forgot I was supposed to ask a question. eff it."

You could start a pro weber rally as a decoy and then we could beat your face in with a brick.  If you love emaw, you'd gladly accept the role of martyr.
what makes you think I'd show up to a pro weber rally?
I think the main point is that we show we aren't going to take this, and that you are deceased by brick.

You could start a pro weber rally as a decoy and then we could beat your face in with a brick.  If you love emaw, you'd gladly accept the role of martyr.
shitdick

I can't be expected to control your mother's bowel movements.

That's actually would be kind of funny, if it made contextual sense. It's edgy to pick on the guy who doesn't post much and you're actually a decent poster, but you whiffed on this one. I know you can do better so I'll strike this one as you having an off night. It must be tough to focus while enjoying Currie's metaphorical dick inserted in your ass.

So we can count doom in as one who defines EMAW as getting the lube out.

Now strike me down.
Is that an invitation? Post where you are so it can be arranged.

Why does this fanbase insist on taking it up the ass year after year? I’m not just talking about the tucks and their blind allegiance either. I’m talking about all of us. Having suffered through the Altman/Asbury/Neck brace era already, I’m not tolerating this again in my lifetime. The best idea I’ve seen so far is “don't give, don't go," but is that really all we can do? I don't have that kind of patience anymore, and those of you that do are like weak prisoners that continue to get raped by the bigger ones, and are too chickenshit to do anything about it (then you end up enjoying it). After all, Kellis Robinett is STILL the Steagle beat writer, we hired an experiment to replace a HOF football coach, now this!!! – oh well, turn the other cheek…

eff that. Here are a few things I would like to see happen.
-   A well attended, organized protest will get media attention (which Currie obviously values considering the methodical placement of his controversial press conferences).
-   Enough heated vocal opposition towards Currie at every Catbacker function and public appearance to a point where he either quits, or feels so much pressure that he finds a sudden "compliance issue" and dismisses Bubbles before he has a chance to coach a game.
-   Violence and destruction

Feel free to post more ideas on how to retract this from happening. Take the best idea and roll with it.

Either that or perhaps we can all take the heaven’s gate route. I hear Applesauce and Phenobarbital are cheap this time of year.

Kansas State Basketball is hard / Re: Farewell Fatty
« on: March 05, 2012, 03:22:12 PM »
Count me in as another lurker who seldom posts. I had an unusually busy weekend and didn't get my usual goEMAW fix. I dropped by and read the comments after hearing this on KFH this morning. Thank you, MIR, for taking the time to call Sports Daily today and deliver the sad news and well done tribute. Upon hearing this I'm not surprised to see I'm not alone in how I feel. In the off-season before football, I'd play Fatty's videos to get geeked up for the season (for some reason, analysis of 2 star recruits and the action packed spring games wasn't enough for me). As has already been stated, his posts were enjoyable. No doubt, his contributions made football and basketball season more entertaining for me, win or lose. It's inspirational to hear how he impacted so many lives in several different ways. I am sad for his family, and for those of you who were lucky enough to know him on a personal basis.
