Kansas State Basketball is hard / Re: Nino

Stud. If this team has a PG, they might be something. :-(

The Cats have a PG unless you are saying that you want a PG that can shoot or one that does not repeatedly throw the ball out of bounds!

Too many T-shirt Alumni lurking in the weeds to openly root against UK in public but in my own home that is a different matter.   I only will watch the SQUAKS play on TV when they are losing (thanks TEMPLE), or there is a good chance of them losing (Thanks ISU and DANG OU)!

Had an ongoing email discussion with Mr. Fesco last year whether it is UK in light of the fact that it chartered as the University of Kansas or the KU that is used to separate the Squaks from that University in Kentucky that also is UK.  Based on that series of emails I can verify that BOB is a D--K (for those of you that are name challenged that rhymes with RICK), fortunately I live in Wichita and do not have to ever listen to him on the radio.

I'd really enjoy a win.

I am already limbering up my right arm to toast a victory or GOD forbid .  .  .  . drown my sorrows! but hope it is

Kansas State Football / Re: TCU Game
« on: November 05, 2014, 11:15:24 AM »
Actually, who knows, we might win, I don't know that TCU is that great of a team but we aren't either so it's a tossup.
KIM where have you been? I missed your predictions that the CATS would loose to TEJAS and OKIE LITE!  Oh wait a minute; was I dreaming or after we beat OU, when you had predicted a beat down by the GOONERS, did you say we would never here from you again?

I can just see it now. We win out in impressive fashion only to finish fifth behind Oregon, FSU, Mississippi State and Auburn who also all win out.
I'm not sold on Oregon and especially not on the Mariota bandwagon, FSU has a lucky rabbit's foot this year so I would not bet against them, if Mississippi State has injuries, which it appears that they do, I cannot imagine MSU going in to Tuscaloosa and Oxford and winning both places.  While I would prefer Auburn over Bama they have to run out of luck some time (think 100 missed FG return, KSU choking, and a lucky fumble at Ole Miss).  But in any case I would be able to accept those 4 in the playoff's with KSU looking in so long as ND is no where in sight.

Kansas State Football / Re: "I really want KSU to win the Title"

I personally think winning a NC would be depressing, what else would there be to root for after that? I would probably stop being an Cat fan because our bandwagon would be so big and it wouldnt be fun.
Winning a NC would be kind of like winning an Oscar. What has Whoopi Goldberg or Cuba Gooding Jr. done since they won an Oscar but still they are listed in the promos today as "Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg or Oscar winner Cuba Gooding, Jr." no matter what dumpster fire movie they are appearing in.  So twenty-five years from now it would be "former National Champion Kansas State University" no matter what the record has been in those 25 years

Kansas State Football / Re: KSU cannot win the must wins
« on: November 03, 2014, 09:22:47 AM »
Whenever I think about that elephant in the corner I think of a score of 35-7 against the greatest college football team ever assembled!  Since we know KSU can win a football game when they are the overwhelming Underdog, this weeks +5 line does not seem so over whelming.

Kansas State Football / Re: LHC LHC Bill Snyder show.
« on: November 03, 2014, 06:48:06 AM »
weirdest one i've ever seen tonight. snyder is awkward and seemingly pissed the entire episode, and not once looks at wyatt. painful to watch at times. was his mood related to the stupid rough ridin' pat roberts thing? or was he just really really tired because of the late kick?
I got the same feeling about LHCBS's attitude on this weeks show.  For those of you that still complain about Wyatt stop and think that if you were a UK fan you would have to listen to BOB "Oh No they are going to call that on KU" DAVIS, so appreciate what you have!

Kansas State Football / Re: HEADLINES - AUBURN EDITION

NO CALMING THESE WATERS

K-STATE QUARTERBACK GOES OFF FOR 300 YARDS, 3 TOUCHDOWN PASSES, RUNS FOR 2 MORE IN 45-21 UPSET OF AUBURN

I know for the AU faithful this seems like just wishful thinking, but you might want to check and see what the headline in the Morgantown WV paper were   on the morning of Sunday October 18, 2012, when the Mountaineers were favored by 3-6 points with a 73.5 pt O/U and a predicted score of WVU 38 - KSU 28 when they hosted the Wildcats in a game the evening before (hint the final score in that game was KSU 55 - WVU 14!)

I have chosen to wear my 'lucky' hat to the game Thursday. Auburn is undefeated in games I have attended while wearing this hat, dating back to 2006. Unfortunately for the program I was working at a project in Michigan for much to the 2012 season otherwise it might have turned out much differently.
Since we are talking about superstitions, I hope it is cool enough Thursday for me to wear my long sleeve 2003 35 to 7 BIG XII Championship T-shirt because KSU has never lost when I was wearing it (both the 2012 Cotton Bowl and the 2013 Fiesta Bowl games were inside so I did not wear it to those games!  )

"You will see "backups" on defense all night long. We generally play about 10 guys on DL alone every game and often wear down OL's because of it. Our talent is deep there."

If you have so much talent why have so many people, even some of your fellow AU faithful, talked about defense being the TIGERS weak link?

If we beat baylor we get the triple crown  :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

big12, heisman, and natty. My word eff everything baylor.
Like it is posted at the start of this thread, K-STATE football is important to me but not as important as it was ten years ago (although I will go to my grave basking in the glory of a cold evening in December 2003 at Arrowhead, even if the gooner faithful want to forget it I will always remember 35-7!!!) let alone in 1998 (I was in St Louis and witnessed that debacle in person).  I was in a funk after the aTm championship game until at least the MNC game in January 1999, while I would have liked for the CATS won when they played Baylor in 2012 (Damn SI jinks!!) I was only in mourning for a week after that game and definitely was back cheering for my cats when they beat Tejas and won the Championship on December 1st.

I've got news for you, pal. Nobody just strolls into LHC LHC Bill Snyder #Family Stadium and leaves with a W. Auburn's in for a dog fight.
If the Auburn faithful that are on here think that is just bragging from someone that has drank too much of the purple kool aid. Maybe they should go to YOUTUBE and search for the "2003 BIG XII Championship Game" video and see how a LHC B. Snyder coached team plays when they are a 3 TD DOG to the "GREATEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEAM EVER ASSEMBLED" on a neutral field. ;)

Could list so many memorable plays in the last 20+ years but some that really stick out are:

It was not a single play but the "Drive" covering 85 yards in 56 seconds to win in Stillwater in 1993 was one to remember.

D. Sproles with those short legs and choppy steps running 60+ yards for the TD on the screen pass against OU at Arrowhead in the 2003 championship game.

A. Brown running across the field from the far sideline to tackle RG III for a loss in 2011.

Any Baby Lockett TD run in the past and hopefully this year.

ESPN has released how the upcoming college football playoff will be held.  Not entirely sure how I feel about 6 games in two days, what do you guys think?

Check out the article here: http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/10767521/a-primer-new-college-football-playoff

This gives my age away but I can remember "In a time long ago" when I think the Sun bowl, Bluebonnet bowl and Peach bowl were all played in News Eve afternoon and evening.  Then on NEW YEARS day my dad would set down at noon watch the Cotton Bowl game then watch the last of the Sugar bowl, which was played outside at Tulane Stadium I think, the Rose Bowl and the Orange bowl after which he would finally stand up and go to the bathroom for the first time since the Cotton Bowl started!

Speaking of the Orange Bowl does anyone but me remember when the boys from "Child Molester U" beat the cheaters from Larryville by one point when they got a 2nd chance to run a two point extra point play  after the Squacks stopped the Nittany Lions on their first 2 point play but those cheaters from the Flaw on the Kaw had 12 men on the field!  That still brings a smile to my face.

All the talk regarding the passing game has been about Waters and the Wide Receivers but what about that pop pass or jump pass over the line.  it has long been in Snyder's play book, before Tebow & CK, and nobody has learned how to stop it; Little Gronk and Trujillo feasted on that play last year. What has happened to the play where Jordy rolled to his right with a pitched ball and threw for a couple of TD's?

Did you have to watch the game to be able to make the statement "NEBRASKA BLOWS"?

Final!!  #14 MERCER  -  78

             #3 DUKE  -      71

What's that sound I hear coming from the East it is either all the Blue Devil fans committing mass HARI CARI or it is the sound of that "Little Ant" taking  down another rubber tree plant; as in "OOPS!! THERE GOES ANOTHER RUBBER TREE PLANT"

Now if that "little old Ant" can just take down another rubber tree plant today, I've got HIGH HOPES!!

Like the lyrics from the 1950's Frank Sinatra song -

Just what makes that little old ant (KSU)    Think he'll move that Rubber Tree Plant (UK)    Anyone knows an ant can't move a rubber tree plant

but he's got HIGH HOPES . . . so any time you getting low . . . just remember that ant    OOP THERE GOES ANOTHER RUBBER TREE PLANT

So although all the predictions are for UK to win, at least at the start of the game I will have HIGH HOPES for a BIG, BIG, BIG, BIG KSU VICTORY!!!

ask me if I care what Seth Davis or any one that takes a salary check from that cesspool ESPN says!   :jerk:

I guess when you have the refs in your pocket and you have Bob "uhooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohtheyaregoingtocallitonKU Davis on the radio you never have a reason to boo a call.

I am assuming that almost everyone that saw the game on TV heard Franchella's comment when he saw the replay of when DJamer got called for the foul when he tied up the Hawker right in front of the announcers table.  Also did anyone else think that Ellis shoved Foster down in the paint after he rebounded Nino missed lay-up attempt late in the game, which in my opinion should have been called a foul?
