you're a effing hillbilly Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) if you think that tucking anything, especially button down shirts, into jeans is acceptable.

are your overalls dark, too?   /thread

My grandpa used to call overalls "coveralls".

Overalls and coveralls are two different things. Coveralls- sleeves.  Overalls- no sleeves.

Overalls- what your grandpa and various other farmers used to wear.

Coveralls- what Joel Hodgson and Bill Nye Science Guy wear.

Let's just put Nantz's voice in Visser's face and get rid of both of them.

You'd think at least ONE of Rodney's airballs would have made it into the final cut.

The only thing we can be certain of here is that Chris Harper is a really effing terrible quarterback.

The best part about this will be when people start believing that Sutton's absence is the reason we're not as good this year as we were last year.

Coming in at a close second will be the weekly updates of Dom's stats from whatever crappy D2 school he decides to dominate at

'Nique is not going to dominate at any D2 school.  Wide open jump shots are no easier at a D2 school than they are at a high major.  The fact that the game is being played in a teeny-tiny gym with almost no media coverage does not mean that the shots are easier to make.  Dom will be the same player at his next stop as he was the last three years at Kazzu.

Really wish we could have heard something resembling the truth about this.  Frank- don't give me that "Dom wants to play closer to his family" nonsense.  Sutton has a chance to be the starting small forward on a Final Four team and says "nah- I'm good.  I think I'll just go play at some D2 school this year to be closer to my family."  Or something like that.  Sure.

As an alum I'm thinking of calling the hotline, any suggestions for what I should complain about?

The Super Pretzels in Lawrence are always soggy like they were left in a puddle over night.  And the stale corn chips to nacho cheese ratio is way too high.  Need more nacho cheese.  In all seriousness, someone should probably check with Roger Morningstar to see if there has been some sort of ongoing scam in which nacho cheese is stolen from KU concession stands and re-sold for personal profit.

Kansas State Basketball is hard / Re: Beasley
« on: June 29, 2010, 07:25:35 AM »
FWIW, they say Riley wants to keep Beasley.  Even with James and Bosh.

Of course he would WANT to, but Miami simply doesn't have the space under the cap to keep B-EZ AND sign LBJ and Bosh.  Wade is exactly the guy LBJ needs to play with.  D-Wade has that killer instinct in the last five minutes that seems to come and go with LeBron.

Warm up your Toronto Raptors #30 jerseys.  I'm guessing Beasley will be part of a sign-and-trade for Miami to get Bosh.

Would love to see a half-hour on Kazzu Net where Prez. Schultz reviews Manhattan restaurants and the lastest motion picture releases.

Huge recruiting win for the 'Clones.  Farmageddon now practically unwinnable for K-State from 2012-2015.

10
Use the $4 mil to buy out 'Te's contract and tell him to go not recruit elite players for someone else.

Now that this is over, can we get back to bitching about Kellis?  Read his latest work in the Star.  If you didn't know better, whose beat writer would you think he is?

Kansas State Football / Re: Official Nebraska Chant Thread
« on: June 15, 2010, 01:59:58 AM »
Guys, we need some solid gold for this game.  Primetime national TV (one of the perks of the Texas Ten) against Nubb.  We're pulling out all the stops.  Anything you want to say to Nebraska, speak now or forever hold your piece (lame attempt at a CU joke).

"GET THE shazbot! OUT" *clap clap clapclapclap*
"Where's our money?" *clap clap clapclapclap*
"NOT THE 90'S" *clap clap clapclapclap*

By the time the game rolls around, we'll be so incredibly prepared.

"Big Ten SCUM!  Go back to where you're FROM!"

The lack of a Big 12 Championship Game would have to be redone with abc, right?
i think i heard that the b12 will still have the CCG b/c the ncaa will feel sorry for us.

I don't have time to go back and find it, but the NCAA has reported (and we posted in this thread) that the NCAA could be petitioned to move their requirement from 12 to 10 teams for a champ game in football and the NCAA that they would be responsive to that.  It was part of the reported benefits for MWC adding a 10th team.

Couldn't much of this of been avoided had the NCAA given the Big 10 or Pac-10 the right to a conference championship game?

Pretty sure neither conference wanted one anyway.

Once Neb and CU made their moves, a TV network saw realignment about to blow and stepped forward with the plan stop chaos and save B12

In other words, Beebe didn't do crap.  He just answered the phone when a network called and said "we really don't want this Pac-16 thing to happen."  Maybe Beebe was at Olive Garden when he took the call.

Going to be some Blood in the Big 12-Pac-10 hardwood series  :curse:

Hope we draw Colorado.  Not because I'm pissed at Colorado- because it would be awesome to have an easy W on the sked.

http://ucla.freedomblogging.com/2010/06/13/pac-10-expansion-scott-in-austin-kansas-next/16411/

Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott arrived in Austin Sunday to meet with University of Texas officials about the Longhorns joining an expanded Pac-10 and is scheduled to meet with University of Kansas officials Monday night, the Orange County Register has learned.
Scott landed in Austin as the Texas board of regents prepared to meet Tuesday morning to discuss the Longhorns’ conference options.
The Austin stop comes after a busy weekend for Scott, the point man in a Pac-10 expansion bid that could dramatically alter the major college sports landscape by the end of the week.
Scott met with University of Oklahoma president David Boren and Sooners athletic director Joe Castiglione in Oklahoma on Saturday and then flew to to College Station, Texas to meet with Texas A&M officials on Sunday morning before flying to Lubbock for a meeting with Texas Tech officials later that afternoon. Texas Tech’s regents are also scheduled to discuss the school joining the Pac-10 on Tuesday afternoon. Oklahoma regents will hold a similar discussion Wednesday, school officials said.
Monday could be just as busy with Scott and deputy commissioner  Kevin Weiberg, a former Big 12 commissioner, scheduled fly to Kansas City Monday night to meet with University of Kansas officials scrambling to find a home for the Jayhawks with the break up of the Big 12 imminent.
Scott’s whirlwind tour of the Big 12 Southern Division comes as SEC officials have expressed interest in pursuing Texas and Texas A&M. A&M officials have also expressed an interest in at least exploring the SEC as an option.
But Texas remains the key to Pac-10 plans to expand to a 16-school, two division super conference. Pac-10 officials see Texas as the flagship university in a Eastern Division that would also include Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Colorado, who joined the Pac-10 on Thursday, and current Pac-10 members Arizona and Arizona State. Pac-10 officials hope Texas A&M will round out the Eastern Division. If the Aggies jump to the SEC or pursue other options, the Pac-10 will look at Utah and Kansas.
The Western Division would be made up of the original Pac-8 schools: Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, California, Stanford, UCLA and USC.

The latest information, which was relayed to PowerMizzou.com late last night is that the Aggies may have told the SEC they would like Missouri to be included in that league's expansion as well.

No matter what happens, when this is all over I'm going to be just a little bit sad to see this thread go.  This is the greatest thread in history and can probably never be topped.  When we're all  :cyclist: we'll see a great thread and say "Yeah, but it's NOTHING like that 'smoke your cigars' thread back in ought-ten!"

Yeah, but how firm is their Friday deadline?  I mean if this thing gets drawn out by the Texas legislators, I'm pretty sure the Pac-10 will wait.

The Pac-10 deadline is only important as it relates to the Wednesday hearing.  It doesn't matter when the Pac-10 deadline is, as long as it is after Wednesday.

1- What is the preferred outcome of the legislature?  Probably keeping the Big 12 together.  Right now, Texas (the Republic of) has a conference of its own, in its own state, with headquarters in Dallas.  What do you expect the legislature to say?  "Yeah, uh, even though you guys have been saying you want to keep the conference together, we don't agree.  We should just break up this conference that is really, really good for Texas (the Republic of) and you should all go your separate ways."  No.

2- The longer this gets drawn out, the better it looks for keeping the conference together.  Still only looking at about 20%-30% chance right now though.

3- We have been hearing from the South schools that they "prefer to keep the conference together."  The legislature may not have any official authority over that, but they are in a great position to apply political pressure.  If the choice is anywhere close to 50/50, it may swing the schools toward staying.

4- It's funny how college football is the one issue where the federal government doesn't give a sh$t, but the Texas legislature is more than happy to jump in.
