Kansas State Football / Re: Future schedule update...

Looks like we can't schedule any home and homes with California schools any more.

I assume this will not impact Stanford in 2021 as they are a private university...

At first Stokes appeared to have a non-contact knee injury.

Not again.

After further evaluation it looked like an ankle injury.

Does anyone have an update? Roll or Sprain?

No chance against Huggy Bear on Saturday if he's out.

Cre Moore played really well at times this year - could become a potential draft pick. Also, Reid Najvar could get picked with a solid year.

Risner?

Burn the RS.

We will probably lose our streak the year Sams gets drafted.

Why are you deluding yourself? Sams is not going to be drafted and wouldn't have even if he stayed here as starting QB.

His goEMAW Kansas State comparables, Michael Bishop (barely drafted at 227th Overall) and Ell Roberson (Undrafted), are all-time greats and did not even have a shot.

yeah that was triple dumb, on the post-game oscar equated it to what Wes did against KU, certainly he's smart enough to know the difference, right?

Probably not, but I will worry about that later.

Too bad we didn't have Bill Walker to go throw it down.

Henry, tho

texas/osu :sdeek:

It's getting ugly quick. Smart's attitude is even hurting his guy Forte, who just missed back to back 3s. OSU is falling out of the tourney picture fast.

4* on Espn, 3* on 247, not evaluated on rivals. Offers from Alabama, Arkansas, George Mason, Miss. St. and UCF. I guess I'll take.  :dunno:

Edit: I luke'd most of this. I didn't see the other thread.

Must've lost a star after committing to us...  Sort of like football.   :dunno:

That may be better for us in the long run. He said he's about 80-90% sure now, but his lower ranking will attract fewer schools.

This would make more sense if you guys knew the history. Marcus Smart's best friend died from a piece of crap.

Also, some team is gonna get Smart at a good value. (although I've never really been sold that his game would translate well to the NBA.)

He's a point guard who can't shoot, doesn't have excellent handle, nor hasn't shown himself adept at setting up his teammates. His perceived draft stock is one of life's great mysteries.

I completely agree with this sentiment.

Rumors are that Jeff Orr may not have use the N word.  He supposedly told Smart to "go back to Africa".

If they plan to move our guy back to QB in 2015 I'd prefer he plays WR than RB in 2014. Hopefully it will help with understanding of the pass game and route trees. I'd prefer he gets a shot at QB next year, but like most on this board I'd rather have him on the field somewhere than not at all.

just as i'm ok with a player pulling a commitment and looking elsewhere, i'm totally fine with a school pulling an offer if a commit decides to start looking around again.
Same here, but in this situation, I don't feel like we should have gone this route.  The parents wanted him at KSU, and was actively trying to contact the coaches apparently.  I get why they did, I just feel it's a rough ridin' stupid thing to do with Sharp, considering he's really good and important to the class.
You're to young to realize this, but that is what happened to recruiting in '04-'05.  They went after the 4-5 star kids and the young little twerps looked elsewhere just before signing.  Snyder said he will not make those mistakes again, because they left us with shitty choices to choose from due to lack of time.  So should they move on if a athlete wants to look elsewhere?  I'll let you decide that.  :whistle1:
Fair point, but Sharp was already committed.  We had a decent chance to keep him AND his mom was actively trying to contact the coaches.  It would've been fine to look at other options at the same time, but I don't think you just give up on keeping him.
That was bullshit and you know it.  We're not pulling offers to athletes that want to be here.  Also, those athletes were offered and flew the coop just before signing.  Do you remember what our records were in '04 and '05, and do you see us repeating that.
It's the coaches' jobs to make athletes want to come here.  Sharp had been committed for 9 months, if you can't make him want to come here, you are likely not very good at your job as proven by KState staff in the past.  Why would his mom saying she sent emails to the coaches be bullshit?  And because we had bad years in 04 and 05, we stop recruiting a very accurate and fast QB?  No, you keep on him and look at backup options at the same time.
Is your reading compensation at a 5th grade level.  We got recruits before that went looking late in the game and we tried to keep them.  Now please read slowly, because when you hang on the lookie lews and don't move on, you will get burnt.  Don't you think our coaches, making hundreds of thousands of dollars, aren't smart enough to not fall into the same trap, because Snyder isn't going to let that happen.  When you're a football coach at a BCS level school, then maybe I'll listen to your take on how recruiting should be done.

 :D

Out of those five...who starts?

Hurt has started all 18 games as posted in the recruiting thread.

If conditioning is still an issue after being on campus for over a year without being able to play a game by the time he is actually eligible to play, that is a coach/staff issue.

JUCO, tho.

Isn't it cute how Wiggins has his career best game & the beakers are over here thumping their collective chests over a stat line that would've been a disappointment for Beasley during his season...

And Beasley was stoned the entire time too! Makes it that much more impressive.

Just finished watching the Wake Forest-UNC game. I never thought I would find a collegiate head basketball coach more awkward than Brucie until I watched the halftime and post game interviews of Jeff Bzdelik.  My lord is that guy on another level of quirkiness. He said that one strength in the first half was his team's rebounding, yet the Deacons gave up something like 15 offensive rebounds. He continued to mention it after they won the game. When asked how his team was able to hold of the Heels he went on to say they played "solid" and stuttered through how big of a win it was for "Wake Forest nation". He has got to be some sort of X's and O's savant because he can't spit out more than a sentence without getting confused. Also, one of the announcers mentioned they have 11 sophomores on the team. How would a program ever recover from that without some serious Brucings? Unbelievably enough, he makes me feel blessed that we have Weber at the helm.

Dementia?

Must be early onset. Very sad indeed.

There were two different instances yesterday in which EMAPE went up for a left handed layup only to hit the ball on the bottom of the backboard and lose control before it had a chance to touch the glass.
