Kansas State Basketball is hard / Re: Rebounding
« on: January 27, 2013, 11:05:27 PM »
At least Pig Aggie and Coal Aggie have a couple elite fans. Flood aggie just has white guys who think it's edgy to not call an opposing team by their name. What's next, is he gonna use "grape" ??  :ohno:

Not sure what the hell "elite fans" are? Also, how creative is it to refer to everyone by _____ Aggie?

2
You have to take the series back to the early 60s for ISU to have an above .500 record vs K-State.

Can you guys not count either or is Kansas about 30 years behind everyone else.

3

I always feel bad for fans of complete loser programs like ISU and KU when they say stuff like this.

These poor saps have no idea what it's like to experience the level of success we have seen...not even close. I would take 100 years of terrible and 20 years of elite over just 120 years of mediocre all day.

I guess we have a different meaning for the word elite. KSU football has been good to pretty good the last 25 years and has had some great, maybe even elite years but I wouldn't say there have been 20 elite years in there.

This is a joke, right?  Nobody is seriously that much of a psychopath/redneck

So how would you have killed 10+ cats? Taken them to the shelter?

I heard Chinese restaurants in Ames pay $10/head for cats (dogs too).  Something about how the locals think it's General Tso's Chicken and lap it up.

Damn, I wish I would have known that instead of burying them. That was the worst part trying to figure out how deep of a whole to dig for a bunch of cats. I didn't want to dig another one or take them out after I hauled them in.

You would take your dog to a chinese restaurant? What kind of sick eff are you? I gave all my dogs the proper respect and buried them in the yard along with the others.

Those of you wishing death on posters on this website have been reported to the Department of Homeland Security. So, that means basically all of you.

Really? Shouldn't you have told your parents first. It seems a little extreme to go directly to DHS.

I was going to tell a story how one year I had to kill all our farm cats because my mom didn't want them anymore. I thought it would have been fun to spray paint one the kittens purple and save him for last. Since most of the cats were about the same color due to inbreeding I had to figure out a way to try and differentiate some of them. Also it was pretty easy to pick them out if they were a different color when I was looking for them. I slayed about 12 and it came time for the purple kitten. I had been using my 22 but I was curious what a shotgun would do. My 12 was probably overkill so I grabbed one of my brother's 20 gauges. I learned that the 20 was overkill but it was probably because I was standing too close. It was quite a bit of fun but we didn't have a problem with stray cats for quite a while.

how god damn old are you? nobody here was around 23 years ago. take it to the geriatric board gramps.

Damn, I didn't realize everyone over here was a child. I guess I didn't know how bad the things in Kansas really are. No wonder you guys are all afraid of floods, most of your parents were probably killed by one.

Poor sad kitties. Good thing Grandfather Snyder gives you football and a little hope.

But Snyder did show up.  Enjoy your 49-43-4 record against us on Saturday night.  Meanwhile: :billdance:

I hope you enjoy your time while it last because synder can't live forever.

I like how many of you point how ISU owned you 70 years when you only have to go back 23 years or to the time when KSU was the worst program in America.

umm... that might be a problem for you guys against a Snyder coached offense? :dunno:

The bigger problem is turning the ball over. If ISU can limit turnovers that will help quite a bit and if Barnett can move the ball a little more consistently that will help also.

An ISU win usually isn't a dominating played perfectly played game. It is usually one filled with mistakes and some lucky breaks. ISU is usually their own worst enemy in most games. I understand that this is the complete opposite of Snyder football and if KSU doesn't turn over the football they will probably win.

how deep is the ISU defense?  I mean they've only played TTU and TCU and were racked with yards.  I wonder if their inability to close out points would be a factor.  If ISU gets worn down, how many players deep can they go?  I would suspect that KSU has a better ability to close out points than TTU who is about to swap QBs or TCU who had their QB drop into rehab.

Part of the reason in giving up so many yards is due to time of possession. If you look at both the TT and TCU games they both had the ball almost 10 minutes more than ISU. ISU was able to get some quick scores against TCU because of turnovers but the offense does go through times when they have trouble moving the ball. It is pretty hard to discuss the differences between games since Jantz started one and Barnett started the other. Last year the offense was able to move the ball a little more effectively with Barnett or at least not go 3 and out most of the time.

Our line is pretty deep. There might not be any big stars on the line other than McDonough but quite a bit are rotated in and have played. Knott and Klein never come out of the game but they are pretty solid players. Miller is a promising LB for the future. There isn't that much rotation for DBs as there is some drop off. Keep in mind that in the last 2 games that the defense has been on the field for 35 minutes.

I think KSU should stack the box and make Barnett make plays through the air. If you are getting burned than I think KSU should blitz because the o-line did have some problems picking it up in the tech game.

I say KSU just has to hold the football and wear down the ISU defense. ISU will play a lot of d-line so if you can pound it early and take the game out of reach it will help. I wouldn't count on the power running game being there in the 4th quarter if the game is close. I am a little suspect of our DBs since they are small but they seem to cover well and play physical.

Heard someone say today Snyder is 16-4 against them yet they wouldn't take a split of the next two with us?  I'm pretty sure they have never beat us when we were worth a crap either.  I mean it's one of those things where if you lose to Iowa state it pretty much means you are not going to a bowl.

Well you guys weren't worth a crap before Snyder showed up. KSU is the only team in the Big 12 ISU has a winning record against at 49-42-4 so that should tell you how pathetic KSU was before.

All things considered, Arkansas would be a step backwards for CPR. The only way CPR leaves is if a true "blue blood" of CFB comes after him (say a Texas) and doubles his salary. Even in that instance, I'm not 100% sold he would leave.

I am 100% certain he isn't going to Arkansas though.

I mean...

What's more ridiculous?  The idea that Iowa State is a better job than Arkansas, or the idea that one day a team like Texas might seriously consider hiring Paul Rhoads?

14

The past is the past. A good coach can win at ISU. You guys have just never hired a good coach.

Rhoads is yet to be determined but in his short time he has gotten a lot more fans excited about football. That alone will give him more time with mediocre seasons. As far as the other coaches go I don't disagree with you on that.

15
Rhodes gets a ton of good press, even outside of Iowa. People just think he's a good coach, for whatever reason. Rhodes would be stupid to ever leave, though. The results that are getting him worshiped by Iowans would get him fired after 3 seasons anywhere else.

Yeah because ISU had many years of successful seasons before he got there. He won more games in his first season than the previous coach did in his 2 years.

16

BTW, I didn't realize that McFadden, Jones, and Hillis were all in the UA backfield at the same time.   We should hire Nutt immediately and name him HCIW.

I remember watching them and thinking it was crazy that they had 2 guys from the same backfield go in the first round.

17
True.  I thought he made more.  You have a certain part of your fanbase who likes this guy WAY too much.  Ark has to desire in hiring him.

People love him just because he has been able to do things that a coach hasn't been able to do before and that was win some "big" games. I like him because he is the complete opposite of Chiz. I thought he was a good hire at the time but damn he never showed any emotion and I thought he was a terrible coach because it seemed like guys were never prepared for a game.

I will be one of the ones laughing the day that Auburn fires his ass.

18
Roads has some insane voodoo pull over those hicks.  He hasn't won crap.

Isn't Rhoads the least paid coach in the Big 12?

He makes over 1.1.  He would do that job for 500k

But no permanent coach in a power conference makes less than $1M. John L Smith is making $800k at Arkansas just to fill in. That is just the going rate for a coach.

My combine is way bigger than yers!

We are talking about farm implements here not butts.

Why would we care about any schools in Iowa?  Honest question

So you can poach your next geriatric coach

Snyder won more games after the age of 60 than any Iowa State coach ever.

True but that is not why you care about Iowa schools.

I will do the leg work for you guys. Here is the next great KSU coach:

They put a lot of faith into a guy who has never won more than 3 conference games in a year.

some dude was talking about paying Rhoads $3 million. fankly I was shocked that he's making $2 million right now. 10 year contract for a below .500 coach...  :sdeek:

Have you seen how much Iowa pays their coach?

Sorry, I spent the last of my money on an amazing wallet-chain.

Can you trade wallet chains for big macs?

What did one ISU grad say to the other?  "Would youlike french fries with that?"
Are all of your thousands of posts this bad?

I agree.  Clearly 33 doesn't know what the eff he's talking about.  LMFAO that he thinks tornado bird fans can afford to eat out.  Hello 33, reality called it wants to meet with you sometime.

Well I was planning on stealing some money from KSU fans this weekend. You seem to carry enough to get by but too little for anyone to care about. It has been a tough five years but somebody will be living it up at BK and if I get enough maybe even Applebees.
