ESPN picks up ACC options, "sources" seem to be floating that this will keep FSU Clemson in the league for now. We shall see.
FSU and Clemson deciding to stay because ESPN picked up that option doesn't make the least bit of sense to me. ESPN was always going to pick up that option because it's an amazing deal for them. It's more years of the shitty deal that FSU and Clemson wants to be out from under.
Agreed, bought my tickets yesterday and only upper deck was available, and they weren't cheap.i hope we have some fans show up in ireland, but the sense I get is that no one will be there.
i wish they were doing this game somewhere cool like australia or the galapagos archipelago
Ticket sales are going well, we essentially have only upper deck seats left on our side. I'm going!

Dellinger has more details:
-13 football games per year from streaming on ESPN+ to linear on TBS\TNT
-15 basketball games to TBS\TNT
Starts next season and as a sub-license doubt we see more $ just better exposure.

If ESPN is having to sublicense, does that mean it has more game inventory than it can air on its linear and streaming platforms? Asking for a friend that wondered why Big 12 got partially relegated to sublicensing.
wack.
also, mods, get on the bluesky links, thanks.
It still has stakes though. They celebrate, cut down nets, and get trophies for making the final four in basketball and we think nothing of it.
this is the equivalent of doing it for teams getting out of the round of 32 and calling it something like the "Madison Square Garden Classic". And also calling it the "Madison Square Garden Classic" If it's the Final Four or Regional or round of 32.Winning the Rose Bowl to get to the semi-finals is way more prestigious than winning the elite eight in some NBA stadium or domed football stadium to win the right to play in another dome.
Is it though? Do you think this matters more to Ohio State than a potential win at AT&T next week? I don't even know where the final is and no one really cares.
I think in the end what I don't like is that calling a quarterfinal the "Rose Bowl" feels very inauthentic/insincere. Like, you all threw away the tradition - just own it and stop trying to pretend it's what it was before the BCS. (I also know it doesn't really matter).
I'm sorry but it's so silly that these prelim rounds are still called bowls.
Haha. As soon as a QB steps back and launches it calmly downfield I know it’s a completion against our pedestrian defense.
Is this the thread where someone said there was not going to be a drop-off from Deuce leaving?
Love DJamer but it's crazy how valuable it is to have a guy who can turn an average play into an improbable touchdown like Deuce could
we still have a clear path into the conference championship game

He's not been very accurate historically. He announced he went into hospice care a while back so honestly I'm kind of surprised he's even still putting info out.
CBS Sports and Jeff Goodman said we really did pay north of 2 mil.Norlander from CBS said: "K-State boasts one of the largest NIL war chests of any program in college basketball." Damn.

I think it is possible that some athletic directors, university presidents and Brett Yormark will outsmart Wall Street types on a business deal because the Wall Street guys are too greedy and are missing something about our valuation. But I think hoping for a mutually beneficially long term relationship or taking advantage of those Wall Street suckers is delusional at worst and the bargaining stage at best.
Well said kk
PE money is a short term cash influx to meet our new $20M per year payroll. It is not a fix but let's us kick the can down the road until (hopefully) we find a long-term fix. I get the need from the conference perspective. I don't see how the PE guys are going to make money since they are essentially buying 20% of the holding company when the real value is in the schools.
Yes. It's just absurd. I could wrap my head around taking on PE investment if the league were truly dying, but I didn't think it is. Permanent second tier? Probably. But not dying, and this doesn't put us in the first tier long term. Maybe but even short term
So is all that Utah to ACC thing a load of crap right? Ffs they already replaced their logo on their field with the Big 12.I haven’t been keeping up, where is it being talked about?
They drained the farm pond
