Based on cryptic gif posted by KSU_Fan and Manbeck sounds like an extension has been agreed too.

Got to explain what Viagra is to my kid. Thanks BYU.

Just remember, if you are soaking for more than 4 hours, call your physician.

So 3 of the 4 playoff teams lost their coaches in the off-season.  Wacky wacky off-season this year.

No way Lance turns down the obvious offer coming from Alabama. We all knew this day would come.

a guy like Brooks should have absolutely played last night.  he robbed himself going out eating sweet pop tarts, and there's no way he's getting drafted.  i love the guy and the kind of receiver/returner he is, but come on.  deuce almost didn't get drafted and brooks isn't near as electric and practically the same size at a position where you need more size.
Not trying to be a cranky old person and this is not specific to Brooks but at what point does all of the "opting out" end? Like if a player realizes their team won't make the CFP 8 games into the season can they opt out of the rest of that season's games because they are meaningless opportunities to get a career-ending injury? Will participation in bowl games become a condition of NIL money? If bowl games are meaningless and not worth playing in, which games during the regular season are meaningful?

It will end when they are declared employees and their contracts under the CBA require them to play with the appropriate compensation and insurance safeguards for injuries.

Definitely not niche. More like ubiquitous.

AND, I am very disappointed that they did not make that trophy into an actual toaster.

Look, we have a whole ass engineering college. Bring that baby back to Manhattan and I'm sure we can retrofit some heating elements.

This has a full picture of the trophy.  We must win this game!

This link has links to the lawsuit, GOR and other docs related to the lawsuit if you are interested in the detail.

Sounds like the ACC file a suit YESTERDAY against FSU saying the GOR is ironclad.  Haven't found that yet but seen some screen shots

After all this shitshow I guess I have boiled my thoughts down to two conclusions.

1.  We don't have enough first-hand information to really know if he should have been dismissed.  If I had to guess I would say that he probably did not do anything that rises to that level or we would have heard rumors of what they are by now.

2. Linton does not have the leadership skills to lead an organization the size and complexity of Kansas State.  His PR instincts are horrible.  There was no reason to have comms on this issue be AD, then coach, then Pres on different days.  He should have go authored the released statement and then been enough of a leader to let Tang calm things down, if needed.  Even if is just a chicken-crap and wants the AD to take the heat he should be smart enough to not speak after Tang calmed the situation.  Sometimes the best thing a leader can do is just shut the eff-up.  He needs to go.

16
We're getting left behind. It is what it is.

Yep, our President just saw to that.

After this Tomlin debacle the AD will leave, which means Klieman will be right behind him. No one good will want to work for a fucktard of a President. We won't even have basketball to fall back on since Tang will leave too.

We are royally screwed. I guess last year was the pinnacle of KState sports.

Kind of gross that he chose A$M over Penn State. The Aggie cult has gotten worse over the years.

According to that link we have ~450 student athletes.  Funding at the min level would be 6.7 million per year.  Seems like we would have the funds to at least pay the cover charge to the new club.  Not sure if we we can then afford drinks or get any of the cool people to talk to us but we should at least be able to get in.

The Breakaway is starting

https://theathletic.com/5114092/2023/12/05/ncaa-subdivision-athlete-compensation-charlie-baker/

Quote
NCAA president Charlie Baker on Tuesday proposed the creation of a new subdivision within Division I that would allow the highest-resource schools the ability to compensate athletes directly through a trust fund and direct name, image and likeness (NIL) payments.

The groundbreaking proposal was sent out to Division I members and obtained by The Athletic on Tuesday morning, and it included the following recommendations:

The formation of a new subdivision made up of institutions with the highest resources that can directly compensate athletes through an “enhanced educational trust fund,” which requires the schools that opt into it an investment of at least $30,000 per year per athlete for at least half of the school’s eligible athletes. Schools would have to adhere to

Title IX, providing equal monetary opportunities to both female and male athletes.

Schools in the new subdivision could create their own rules separate from the rest of D-I, and those rules would allow them the ability to address policies such as scholarship limits and roster size as well as transfers and NIL.

Any Division I school would be able to enter into an NIL deal with its athletes directly, which is not currently permissible.

Any Division I school would be able to distribute to any athlete funding related to educational benefits without any caps on such compensation.

These recommendations from Baker come amid mounting pressure to allow schools to directly compensate their athletes, and as the NCAA is facing significant legal challenges to its model. In the letter to D-I members, Baker calls his proposal a “forward-looking framework” that “gives the educational institutions with the most visibility, the most financial resources and the biggest brands an opportunity to choose to operate with a different set of rules that more accurately reflect their scale and their operating model.”

I've got some Iowa +28 action let's go

That's really the line? Really bad by Vegas. That should be the o/u

That looks like a good O/U for the ACC/Big10 championships combined right now.

With Michigan up 3 - 0 midway through the first it really feels like the Iowa offense just doesn't have enough time left in the game to make up that large of a deficit

Twitterverse is saying the Duke coach, former Aggie DC, is their current target.

Add Dimel to the list.  Pretty sure this is the first time in college football history that two coaches with the first name Dana have been fired in the same season.
