A more bitter, argumentative, disagreeable fan base filled with hateful devils I have not seen.

for the great effort against a mentally, physically, and spiritually superior team.

You guys haven't exactly been accommodating to the Arkansas fans who wanted nothing more than to come in here and talk football and X's and O's with you.

It's a shame you didn't try. You might have learned something.

The New Joe Montgomery Birther Pit / Re: Breakfast Buffet in Manhattan?
« on: December 18, 2015, 07:26:49 AM »
I seem to remember a good breakfast buffet joint when passing through Manhattan many years ago. Can't remember the name of it but they had cat head buttermilk biscuits the size of a lap dog with pretty good sausage gravy and some decent waffles. I seem to remember it being on a numbered street or maybe some street about a fish of something. Y'all know what place I'm thinking about? Damnit, had I not been thinking about it, I could have named it.

Kites?

Kites seems to be the choice here. Doesn't ring a bell to me though. Place I'm thinking of had a blue door and was on a numbered street, I believe. I seem to remember it having a neon sign out front. Perhaps this Kites place wasn't always Kites? I'll see if I can jog my uncle's memory cause he was with me and had those cat head buttermilk biscuits that were the size of a Rottweiler. Maybe he'll remember it cause I can't seem to recall.

Probably Kites.

I was here a few years ago and really enjoyed the board.  I am a razorback fan and Arkansan and look forward to some good debate about this big game.

Not here to stir up any problems.  That much I guarantee.
Maybe you should go over the cliff instead of the road  :dunno:

Here I am just trying to fit in on what seems to be a pretty decent football board and a mod tells me to drive off a cliff.  No wonder there are so few members.  Maybe they have all taken this advice and driven off a cliff.

There are some troublemakers from Arkansas on here.  I have a reputation for building bridges and bringing people together, not conking people in the head with a shovel.

I'll vouch for OTR. Take game day, for example. OTR goes and gets the story behind the story on game day activities. Things like, for example, half time adjustments. You betcha. OTR has the scoop all the way down to rehydration science and second half productivity enhancement through efficiency driven caloric intake needs. OTR also has a knack for game day meteorological impact insights and precipative statistics towards probable benefit and permutation outcome analysis. He also has a degenerate, compulsive gambling dog, which is always a plus.

I think I want that on my tombstone.  It brung a tear to my eye.

Has anyone let these hillbillies know that we have the biggest offensive line in history?

What x's and o's is there to talk about? A game no one cares about between bad k-state and bad low medium sec team.

Who gives a crap

You're the kind of fan who probably cares more about what kind of snacks the team eats at halftime than what kind of formations the team lines up in on third down and what kind of coverage your team is in on in third and long.

Sounds like you have a bad attitude.  I don't.

it's pretty apparent that this harry rex vonner guy is pondstool or w/e his name is. it's also pretty sad that he keeps this act up suggesting that once he starts using his pondstool account(which was never banned) that his posting will get better.

You're wrong about that.

Harry Rex is unfortunately all too real and is not Jack Blasingame (pondwater jack).  They are two different people.  That much I can guarantee you.

Thanks.

This board needs a jack blasingame, that much I can already see. Jack has the unique ability to galvanize.  Right now it seems like we Arkansans are being treated like second hand citizens by the local jokels and I'll admit maybe some of our guys have been a little out of line, too.  If jack came aboard and was placed in a position as moderator I have a feeling his leadership would soon cause both sides to come together and instead of all the backbiting maybe we could talk about football and our coaches and players and what our players eat at halftime and things of that nature.  Jack serving as a mod would allow him to get our guys in line and maybe straighten out a few of your local ne'erdowells as well.

Say the word and start that apology thread about daddy's coming home and change his avatar to that Shoney's big boy picture and name his as mod until after the game and maybe we can start having the type of debate and give and take regarding this game that I think everyone really wants.

Thanks, people and mods, too.

You know that won't happen... These EMAWer's - which oddly enough sounds like a noise a donkey makes - won't go for it.

Probably not.  Four years ago I bet them that if we won the game I would become a mod.  They never honored that promise, however.

Now mr. Hog Swanson is aboard and that could mean some trouble.  He is one of the meanest most ornery posters we have and it looks like he may have come here as a hired gun to clean house.

I guess you already know about this but Jack does need a peace offering thread from the mods welcoming him back here.

Now I know a lot of you have hurt feelings from when Jack came in here a few years ago proclaiming to be daddy to most of you.  I don't know how true that is but the man does have kids scattered out all over the country so he might be some of your daddies.

So one of you mods just start a thread called "Daddy's coming home for Christmas" and get in there and apologize to the man and we can get one of the greats back in here and start talking up this big game.  He's a lot more mature than a lot of you remember him being, and I think when he comes back everyone is gonna get along really nicely.  I just have a good feeling about the folks on this board and I know that Jack is excited about the apology and his return and I wouldn't be surprised to see him welcome this whole brood back into his family if it turns out many of you are indeed his children.

Thanks.

I have heard that my friend Jack Blasingame had been banned but was working on being reinstated.  I don't want to get mixed up in that but Jack has grown up a lot since the last time he was here. If he's still banned it is a shame.  He, too, just wants to talk football and I've heard him lament many times about his previous actions here and I can only say he felt like this was the board he wished he'd behaved on and the one he felt like got away.

Hopefully if he's not back on someone in a leadership position can sit down with the man and work out whatever problems may have occurred in the past and get him back in here for some good football debate. He is nobody's fool when it comes to football strategy and X's and O's.

'Bout time you got here, 'truck'......these Arkansas boys are stirrin' crap faster than a Bunn coffee maker berils water...

Rev

Well that's what I heard. I wanted to show up here and show them that there were some normal classy people from Arkansas and generally apologize for all the crap that's been stirred up and maybe get some insights into this football game.

As for attesting to my character and good intentions, I'd like for the good Rev to say a few words on my behalf as far as being a peacemaker and all around good message board contributor.  I am here with the best of intentions.

Boys, he wants to come back in piece.  He loved this board, loved the people here, loved the comaradouray, as he would say.
He made some mistakes, and I think him getting banned was the best thing that ever happened to him.  I have watched him grow and mature on other boards, but he considers this board the one that got away, and I believe if you let him come back, you will see a different man.  I would steak my reputation on it.
I guess right now I just need a mod to sign off on him and to let him back here. I can get the word to him, and I don't think you will regret letting him back in here. He is a changed man and he has more self discipline than ever.

If you guys want to vote on it, I can slap up a pole and we can go that way.

Now I haven't asked for much here other than a moderatorship when I predicted the outcome of the cotton bowl correctly, but I am asking for this as a way to smooth over any hard feelings I have since I wasn't made mod.

Please let me know of your answer in a timely manner.  I appreciate your consideration of this most humble request.

This "deal", made in good faith by both parties sober, is what has everyone upset right now in Arkansas and half of Kansas.

I am willing to negotiate if the powers that be are willing.
