I believe that site was created by an ISU fan, so it may be a blatant Land Grant/Ag school bias

we have to score the ball in the first 5-8 minutes and not turn it over.  our defense during that time is irrelevant, imo, because ku is going to get theirs, especially at home (my hope is that luis gets in foul trouble in the first 2 minutes of the game). we do that and it might end up being a ball game.

In the first KU game, whenever Lu was in Aldrich would double Kelly (or Samuels) immediately in the post and we were generally unable to make them pay like OSU did Sat because Lu cannot finish like Moses or the OSU fresh did.  Add in the fact that at Allen we will be lucky to get the ball out the double team w/o a turnover , I fear for history repeating on Wed  :ohno:

FWIW the B12 bracket generator on notnothing.net always gives KSU the number 1 seed based on the draw everytime I have mapped out our improbable run to tie for the title (basically, right after every game since 1/30/10)

Clearly Lamond is still holding a grudge because his bro never got to fulfill his GRCOAT destiny :GRCOATrocketshipmspaint:

It really is surprising ESPN did not pick this game up.

They decided this summer that KU @ KSU = Gameday (one only 8 all year) but KSU @ KU = pass  :dunno:

This is how I feel about little wig boy going for like 14 against KSU, for what was his highest scoring total all year.

The Chef is amazing and contributes to the eliteness of manhattan.

also, a tip for sounding ridiculously elite when ordering a drink at a restaurant is to order a "John Daly."

they could move the game to ESPN Classic (boxing from the 80's is currently on the schedule) but that would be a first for CBB, IIRC.

ESPN has put live CFB on ESPN Classic.

If I am reading this right, your isp blacks out the 360 feed of games carried by Altitude?  Maybe try logging into 360 using a log in from someone who has a different isp (in ks).

Another 360 trick that might help is to go to a public place that has 360 (I believe Starbucks does) open the browser to the KSU game and leave it up till you get home (this also works with your cell phone).  Good luck.

What would the hoops equivalent of '98 be?  I think of it as losing the regional final even though we were only a minutes away from the national title game.

Essentially Flyertalk / Re: Knee Surgery
« on: February 16, 2010, 03:09:43 PM »
have a have meniscus repairs in each knee, along with a new ACL/micro fracture in one.  The physical therapy sucks at first but you will come to enjoy it as you will begin to see progress and it gives you some physical activity when on crutches.

The worst part about knee surgery after the competitive playing days are over is once you get back to "normal" there is no incentive to do the extra work to get back to full strength.

I gave up hoops after two knee surgeries and as a result one leg was visibly smaller than the other from the loss of muscle from being on crutches for 6 to 8 weeks.  If you are like me, plan to spend some out of pocket cash on a personal trainer to get back to where you were starting 6 to 8 months after your surgery.  Good luck, hopefully your knee is not any worse than the MRI showed. :crossfingers:

I am afraid it will be the same as 2008, no beer except for the "Founders Club" or whatever and no passouts during sessions.  I am pretty sure this has to do with the NCAA's rule about no beer sales at "championship events" even thou we are talking about a Big 12 event.  The last Big 12 FB champ game at Arrowhead (09) there were no beer sales.   :drink: :bawl:

now, we cheer for a plethora of upsets in crappy conference tournaments to water down the bracket.

OMG!  I've never gotten the opportunity to do this!  In 2008 I was too shell shocked to take part!

Yes, this is much more fun than cheering for all Mid Major conf. champs to not lose and thereby taking away at large spots like the last couple of years.

Nothing is worse than watching Butler or Gonzaga lose a fantastic conf. tourney game and feeling disappointed when the underdog wins.

Anyone know what this means "it’d be a plague on the house smokers built" ?

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Re: Huggins WTF
« on: February 14, 2010, 06:44:48 PM »
We need to be thankful that Huggs was slimy enough to force the Ws to hire Frank.  Don't you all remember the "Beasley and the recruits all have signed LOI, a SLTH could still keep them" nonsense?

If Huggs doesn't give our "leadership" at the time no choice but to hire Frank or get "Caliparized"  WTF do you think Wiser and Wefald  would have done?

Are you suggesting that Huggins is the only one who would have been interested in trying to take those recruits?

I believe Huggs was the threat that made Weiser and Wefald do the right thing and hire Frank as they were as upset with him leaving as some of our red ass fans still are today.

I am afraid if Huggs tells the them "I really appreciate you guys taking a chance on me and reabilitating my image so I will not try to take any commits"  then we have a Mark Fox or Ritchie McKay for a coach and Wednesday's game against NU is one of the biggest of the season as we try to escape SLTH hell.

possible that huggins ended initial efforts to take the recruits when martin and hill were hired?

IMHO this is exactly what happened.  Huggs wasn't going to mess over Frank and Dalonte, but guaranteed he could have Caliparied K-State if he had wanted to, but it would've been much worse for us.  If Tim had went out and tried to get some SLTH, we'd be 2-7 right now and saying the same stupid stuff as Nebraska and Iowa State fans.

Who's Grunhart?

Grunhard, his high school coach or something.  Supposedly hates the f^ck out of us.

Grunhard was always anti-emaw on his radio show on 810 during the DOD, but I thought we just enjoyed yanking the chains of our thin skinned fan base.  Unfortunately, this news indicates he really is a hater  :curse:
