On the beating the post double (especially when its the other big that doubles), part of the problem is where the post up occurs and the other is who else is on the floor.

OSU beat KU multiple times because the OSU post was higher up the lane, giving better angles to find the other post.

Also, OSU usually has 3 legit shooters so there is better spacing - the only time we have 3 legit shooters is if McGruds is at the 3.

We are going to see this type of D for the rest of the year, will be very interesting what adj. Martin makes.

Buyouts are total false sense of security, Beilien paid at least part of his own 2+ million buyout just to escape Appalachia!

Only the truly ego driven coaches (Coach K, Stoops, etc) really care about the money once it reaches this level - it is many more times about the support of the AD, etc.

As sys said, the buyout money would be nice for the next coach, but in the two highest profile buyout situations I can remember (Beilien and Rodriguez leaving WVU to UM), they both ended up in court anyways, reducing the actual financial benefit of the buyout.

I think it is not a coincidence that Frank go paid almost identical to Anderson at MU - I think that was part of his ego not wanting to be paid less than a guy he doesn't like (and maybe doesn't respect?)

Lu giving us his flustered turnover(s)  (really official score keeper, only 2 TO's for Lu against ku . . . really??).

Pretty sure the scorekeeper gave the TO to who ever made the entry pass to Colon, which shows very HBBIQ, IMO

May or may not have screamed obscenities at the 70+ year old lady KU fan that was watching the game at Kites

according to craptastic jayhawk blog site twitter guy you buy-1 get-1 friday only :dunno:

IIRC, there was a big stink this fall or last fall when they did a 2 for 1 to sell the left over tickets and the people who bought early were pissed, so, maybe they are going to to 2 for 1 when they first go on sale as a cya?

The most facinating thing about that article . . . it took 3 people to write it.

The most disappointing part is one of the three will be our beat writer in 4 or 5 years :curse:

I am not 'pad, but I think Adonis Jordan was very underrated PG at KU, and to my knowledge, we never involved in any sexual assaults, giving him the nod at GOAT in my book

There is some streak that every NCAA champ has had at least 2 NBA players on it (usually 1st round draft picks, there are a couple of exceptions like UK in 88 where you have to count Kevin Pritchard )

This is kind of a self-fulfilling streak as going on a 6 game roll can easily lift a marginal NBA prospect to 1st round status, but who would be our draft picks?  I guess the most physically talented guys are Judge and Kelly, maybe Clemente lights up the tournament and JJ Berea has blazed a trail enough where he could be a draft pick.

Incorrect,  Frank is Puerto Rican, how else could he talk to Denis and Lou?

Frank's Italian.

I don't see the big deal at this point.

see trim's sig.

so what's changed?  :dunno:

no change.  whenever an opportunity is presented to opine on topics of interest, it is treasured.

We should "retroactively" fire Currie in August '09.

Hillwalk, you snorkel?  We did the Hanauma Bay (sp?) last time and thought it was amazing.  Doing it again this trip.  Where is the best snorkling in Maui?

If it is just you and the wife, the beach at the Sheraton Blackrock is good for the combo of snorkeling/general beach and people watching if the wife gets tired of swimming.  Good compromise if your wife in not as enthusiastic about snorkeling as you are.

Turtle Town, south of Wailea is also good but a bit of a swim to the underwater caves where the turtles hang out.  http://www.hawaiisnorkelingguide.com/turtle_town_maui.html

If you or your wife is not a great swimmer, try renting a kayak or paddle boat to use as a "base" for resting, bottle of water, etc.  This is the diff between a 10 swim and my wife wanting to turn around or seeing some amazing stuff up close.

It was nice to see a good play call down the stretch for once.  I never realized how bad Wooly was down the stretch til this play.

Yet Stan Bot spent the first couple years of the Wooly era taking about his NBA (assistant) experience  made drawing up end of game plays a strength  :jerk:

Crean is really an interesting case - if he fails to produce next year, he may fall back to bottom of the coaching barrel ala Billy Clyde.   The talent level at Indiana is horrible, prob the worst at one the big 5 (UK, UCLA, KU, Duke) since Pitino's first years at UK

Yes, there were some of the best photoshops ever of the post game pictures of hollis and "calvin" after the game looking like some had just died with TJ Ford laughing in the background.

I actually looked for them yesterday but could not find them, maybe someone who has mad skill with the internet wayback machine can find them.

Hope to be attending my first FPD (is this correct acronym? FP Day should be when we honor Ron Prince) before and after the game and have a couple of questions.

1.  Do they block off Moro or other streets to allow walking around with a beer ?

2.  Is it more or less crowded then a big football weekend (NU when we both were good, I guess KU for a more recent comparo) ?

TIA

we have to score the ball in the first 5-8 minutes and not turn it over.  our defense during that time is irrelevant, imo, because ku is going to get theirs, especially at home (my hope is that luis gets in foul trouble in the first 2 minutes of the game). we do that and it might end up being a ball game.

In the first KU game, whenever Lu was in Aldrich would double Kelly (or Samuels) immediately in the post and we were generally unable to make them pay like OSU did Sat because Lu cannot finish like Moses or the OSU fresh did.  Add in the fact that at Allen we will be lucky to get the ball out the double team w/o a turnover , I fear for history repeating on Wed  :ohno:

FWIW the B12 bracket generator on notnothing.net always gives KSU the number 1 seed based on the draw everytime I have mapped out our improbable run to tie for the title (basically, right after every game since 1/30/10)

It really is surprising ESPN did not pick this game up.

They decided this summer that KU @ KSU = Gameday (one only 8 all year) but KSU @ KU = pass  :dunno:

The Chef is amazing and contributes to the eliteness of manhattan.

also, a tip for sounding ridiculously elite when ordering a drink at a restaurant is to order a "John Daly."
