His formula must not include points given up on backdoor cuts

dax?

Stats are meaningless when you have things like backdoor cuts that are easy for the casual fan (i.e. dax) to identify and whine about.

We're getting absolutely gashed by backdoor cuts! How can we expect to outscore anyone when we're giving up so many easy buckets???

yeah, kenpom's early nailing of the 2010 KSU Cats validates his stats if anything

He clearly has no place in his formula for easy buckets.

Except when I use him to bet on games.

But, but didn't Duke, and Florida and UNLV understand when they were collecting those 10-14 easy points in the game that KSU has the best stats eva from Ken Pom??

Nothing proves the greatness of the defense first, junkyard cat mentality than 10-12 easy points off the most basic play in basketball.

In game realities be damned, the stats shall prevail!!

i'm with dax on this one,  imagine how great our ranking would be if we didn't give up the easy points. i'll tell you- it would be even better. some of you powermc's are too obtuse.

Imagine how ridiculous our ranking would be if we never gave up any points, ever! JFC, we would be unstoppable.

Let's take a stand, and stop back door cuts once and for all.

Should we get snipers and if there seems to be an open backdoor we shoot them?  I'm in for this.

Whatever it takes. They are clearly tearing our team and our fanbase apart.

FL transition was terrible. UNLV was solid, just too many easy ones in the half court,  especially in the stretch where they took the lead back. Still held them to one of their worst shooting performances since Lon has been there.

False! Stats lie bro; UNLV totally shot us out of the gym. It's all about the eye test, momentum, faerie dust, the basketball gods, etc.

If there is a world where people just accept back door cuts, that's a world I don't want to live in.

Kougs is already sewing a KenPom Defensive Efficiency Banner . . . just get out of the way and let KougsBetsyRoss work.

Let's review.  Nothing says Junkyard Cats, Defense First like:

1.  8-12 easy points to the opposition a game, particularly at critical junctures when K-State can't shoot for $hit.

2.  Taking the rock hard to the goal and/or pushing the ball, getting fouled and then sending a parade of guys to the line who shoot less than 60%.

Please discuss where 22 turnovers in a game factors into losing.  TIA

It's like the problem is right in front of your face, and you're pushing it out of the way so you can focus on backdoor cuts.

Something the cats have got to have or they will keep falling on there faces,  Very under estimated part of basketball and sports in general.  But you probably never acctually played sports instead busy with your face in a stat book wondering why your team lost because tour defensive eff% was good.  giving up easy plays on defense can affect a team on the offensive end it happens all the time.

anyone that can't see that kstate's #8 defense is killing their #87 offense is as blind as an ostrich.

Don't worry sys, our offense will improve.  I bet we end up around 110 Orating for the season, meaning we will be pretty good once the Dillard's 2 get back on the court.
