So my friend from Canada attends law school on the East Coast.
She was telling me about this strange girl in her class.
Highlights include:
1. Interrupted Constitutional Law 1L year to scream about the baby holocaust going on in the United States.
2. Over Christmas break 1L year she bought a one way ticket to London, hopped on the plane with no luggage, only a book bag. And was detained by customs and immediately put on a flight back to the US.
3. Wrote her law review write on submission in poem form.
4. Sent out cover letters to judges in the form of a narrative about her life story.
So this semester this strange girl is taking a class with a blind professor. Since he was blind, she invited her boyfriend (of two weeks) to attend class with her for the last two weeks of the semester.
Today was the last day of class for the semester and as class was ending early, the boyfriend (not in law school) stands up in class and announces that there is one more item and that he is not actually in the class.
The prof starts to get upset, but the guy rambles on about how he won't be upset after he hears what is going to happen.
Then the kid bumbles through some quotes from the bible and love songs and gets down on one knee and proposes to the girl in the middle of class.
Everyone then grabs their book and runs out.

She was storing her law school books in her (gas) stove and burned down her apartment and lived in the law school, sleeping on the couches for about a week until the administration told her she couldn't live in the library.

Sounds like your Canadian friend's law school is a hoot.

Update: So I forgot that this chick records all of the classes she is in (in violation of law school policy) and she actually has the audio from the awkward classroom proposal.
She just put it up in a video on facebook complete with pictures of cats flashing across the screen. I have to see if I can find a way to get it off facebook so you all can experience it yourselves.
