mrs. mich makes a mean sour-cream apple pie and pumpkin cream pie.

No olive tray.  I requested sauted green beans instead of nasty casserole.  Other than that, pretty similar.

Friday, I will be making leftover turkey gumbo.

Does anyone else hate sweet potatoes?  I do.

Absolutely hate them with a passion. Though when I went to Chicago my gfs uncle made me try some at a Ruths Criss restaurant and they were elite because they tasted like pumpkin pie, a personal favorite.

Quote

No freaking way. I cover my entire pumpkin pie with it so I can't see any of the pie. Then I practically swallow it whole.

Grandma used to make an amazing fresh raspberry pie but since she's very slow these days it hasn't been done. I think I'll be trying to whip one up this year...

Brown also has a really good recipe for green bean casarole on there.  Amazing how much better it is when you use fresh green beans and mushrooms vs the canned stuff.  And the fresh onion deal are money.

This sounds amazing. I'll be over after I get done eating my 2nd Thanksgiving meal.

All the guys in my family started this thing where we mix our stuffing with our mashed potatoes, and it's phenomenal. I highly recommend it when you start thinking about dry your turkeys, rolls, etc. are.

Fantastic question, hadn't thought about it, the obvious choice is grape kool-aid, we shall see.  In real life the only wine I like are Reislings, and not all of them either.  I prefer a good New York or German.  California, Washington, and French Reislings blow.

Just watched the Man vs Food episode when they featured Strouds.  That gravy looks incredible.  I haven't been to Strouds in years so I don't even remember how it tasted...

Lutefisk
Swedish Potato sausage
All of the traditonal, less exciting offerings

Lutefisk?  My God man, do spend Thanksgiving on a Mennonite settlement or beet farm or something?

How do you not have deviled eggs?  I'm not sure I'd even show up w/o them.

because it's thanksgiving :ck: and not a picnic, bbq, or Easter.

No kidding.  Hey kids, want to have some toasted pumpkin seeds this 4th of July?

All the traditional stuff, but I threw pumpkin crisp into the mix this year - incredible. Also forewent the greenbean cass for asparagus cass - casserole fail. Tryptophan kicked in and woke up sweating on the couch following customary 3 hr snooze.

Oh, and if you all want a SW KS semi-Mexican leftover thing, try mixing turk, gravy and the Mole' from the weird little yellow jar you can find at the grocery with the Mexican food (usually about half a jar for the 'big' sized pot in the traditional pots/pans set) - layer it on pinto beans and put it all over Spanish-type rice and serve with tortillas... the result is amazing and it beats the crap out of some dry-ass turk sandwiches.

Apple pie with butter pecan OR pecan praline is phenomenal!
