Sonofabitch. I've held off on saying anything critical about Coffman being our starter, but man, he's a chump.
-
Our OL need to knock the sand out of their vaginas.

It took you this long to find out he sucks?

smh

Couldn't even get it to the endzone on the hailmary. :flush:

Yes. I'm making this extremely depressing discovery, and I'm realizing I'm stupid for not knowing earlier. Bad day.
(I hoped he might have improved from last year.)
-
Is this the "I told you so" thread?
-
This is the "GOSP hasn't been paying attention for while thread"
:surprised:
-
I wanted to believe he had changed. God, I feel like the abused wife that took her hubby back for the 3rd time.
-
Hey, it's fine take this thread whatever direction you want and criticize my idiotic blind faith. (I'll never be fooled again, guys!) But please try to also include something in every post about Coffman's limited "abilities." TIA.
P.S. I never said anything nice about Coffman, I just kept hope alive in my heart. Now all I have is a black, burned hole in my chest.

It's not that it took this long, it's more that we were kinda hoping against hope that he wouldn't suck.
-
Our o-line hasn't been helping him a lot for most of the game... but seriously, someone needs to tell him that if you throw the ball away, you don't take a sack and lose yardage.
-
someone needs to tell him that if you throw the ball away, you don't take a sack and lose yardage.
yeah very frustrating
-
Everyone on twitter says backups are warming up.
-
Weirdest "self benching" ever....look like he had to crap.
-
David Hoskins did that at CU in 2007.
-
I have done the "poo-poo" shuffle. That was the "poo-poo" shuffle.
Cheeks tightened, straight legged, run, walk, run, walk, run.....
Carson definitely had to crap.
-
Klein sucks worse
-
Zipper Coffman goes out on a hip injury? It's like this board is self-fulfilling prophecy.

I want Coffman back!! :ohno:
-
thankfully dt doesn't.
-
I just hope Coffman can learn to not put us in a bad position. He sucks, but he's the best we have. Hopefully he can do just enough. We'll see.

but the sacks...
-
With D Train that line is good enough to win ~7 games this year. I'll take it.
Just need to teach him to throw the ball away, which is doable.
I mean, how can you complain? He actually GAINED yards on option plays. Who the hell could have predicted that?
-
The sacks are what makes me hate him the most. 0 pocket presence.
-
thankfully dt doesn't.
thanks ron!

Thanks for beating ucla Carson.

Thanks for beating ucla Carson.
I thought of you during the game and your disgusting Carsy Coff support. With Gregory at QB we would have won by more.

I don't like your tone. :comehere:
-
Thanks for beating ucla Carson Daniel.
-
No kidding. The OL played like a bunch of rough ridin' pussies.
We can't get away with shitty blocking like that. Also, our D-Line looked tired, especially in the 3rd quarter!
-
Thanks for beating ucla Carson Daniel The Kansas State University Family.
-
Aside from that stupid fumbled snap (although that does happen sometimes), Coffman played "good enough."
Kudos Zipper.

He's money!
-
Really wish he had been money on that pass to Brod that he had to go out of bounds for.
-
Coffman is so much better than Klein. That hurts to say, but it's very true...Carson "Frozen Rope" Coffman is our qb for the long haul. :surprised:

Yep, Slamur must be unbelievably horrible.
-
Just saw this:
"He cramped up, he threw up. I think he lost 100 pounds out there," Snyder said.
Coffman estimated he puked 10 times. A quick IV in the locker room gave him enough juice to finish.

It was tough out there, I saw a well conditioned young man throwing up in the parking lot due to the heat/altitude.

No way in blue hell we can beat Nubb with Carson

No way in blue hell we can beat Nubb with Carson
Realistically, we are only looking at North wins(excluding NUBB) as possibilities with Carsy.

which is really annoying because its pretty plausible we could still win those same games with klein or lamur AND potentially get the upside that could lead to a big win.

Baylor could be a really fun game, imo.

Don't really get the Coffman hate, relative to the other options.
-
Don't really get the Coffman hate, relative to the other options.
Who gets most of the playing time? He gives more reasons to hate him
-
It's going to be fun watching Bill completely ignore the QB position until 3rd and long this year.
-
For me, the Carsy hate is because it was obvious last year that he was horrible. The kind of horrible you don't heal from. Yet our staff was fully unable to bring in ANYONE that could do any better.
If DT wasn't on our team, Carsy would be the end of Bill as our coach after this season.
So maybe the Carsy hate isn't fairly distributed, but he is the one sucking, so it rides with him for now.
-
I get/accept that Carson is a slow, unathletic, zero-talented qb who will be the sole reason our offense isn't ridiculous. Ok, fine. But does he have to act like each game is the first rough ridin' game of football he's ever played in his entire life? I mean, jfc, throw the goddamn ball away so when we have to give it to Daniel for the 7,000th time for the day it's at 3rd and 5 instead of 3rd and 10. And I don't give a crap if it looks like you have the corner on an option, pitch it to the fracking stud running back.
p.s. our linebackers are the worst in football, which includes high school.
-
This coaching staff should be flat out embarrassed by their inability to recruit quarterbacks.
So is Coffman sick? Or was it just nerves?? If it was just nerves . . . really Carsy . . . really?? You're a 5th year QB and you're puking and whimpering around like a true frosh who got told 1 minute before game time that he was starting??
What I saw of Carsy today was a QB who had only made a single sand grain worth of improvement over the last year, and that only improvement was that he didn't throw it up for grabs all the time.
But really, put this situation square on the back of OB and this staff and their recruiting . . . pathetic.
Thousands of high schools and junior colleges playing football in the United States and supposedly legendary head football coach LHC Bill Snyder can't find ONE QB in 2 recruiting classes capable of stepping in and unseating a no talent like Carsy Coffman?? Wow . . . just wow.
-
Bad news guys -- That shoulder hernia? Looks worse than feared. Not only is it affecting his pass strength, but also his accuracy. He may also have brain and thigh hernias as well, which are affecting his pocket awareness + ability to turn the corner on an option.
-
I'm just glad that Cam Newton guy didn't come here. Imagine how "sick" Carsy would be with that guy showing him up in practice everyday.
-
It was good to see Coffman didn't force throws and he actually ran the option decent. I'm assuming he made some good checks.
But it was very frustrating to see the sacks, especially when he had plenty of time to throw the ball away on most, if not all, of those plays. And even more so, its very frustrating to see us only attempt to take a couple shots down the field, and the best of those was a poor throw. We've got to be able to complete some routes down the field as teams load the box to stop Thomas.
That said, I saw nothing from Klein, granted in limited snaps, to suggest he's close to surpassing Coffman right now.
-

:blank:
-
Coffman wasn't the complete POS I feared, but he'll never be anymore than a third-string quarterback given the keys to what should be a very good offense because of an years of of QB recruiting failures.
It's sad to think what the Cats could be with a play-maker in that position.
-
Cam Newton had a 71 yard TD run . . . for Carsy Coffman that would have required four water breaks, 2 IV injections, 5 vomit buckets and a final push into the endzone by DT.
-

he scored 31 points against ucla in basically 3 quarters of quarterbacking. what more do you rough ridin' dumbasses want? dear god.
-
"He" score 6 points.
-
"He" score 6 points.
And 6 for them lol. Remember that fumble at our 10 that they housed the next play??
-
Geezus Daris . . . I was talking about Carsy Coffman trying to make a 71 yard TD run.
I guess if Daris was handing out the Helmet sticker he gives it to Carsy Coffman over DT.
-
Thanks for beating ucla Carson.
I thought of you during the game and your disgusting Carsy Coff support. With Gregory at QB we would have won by more.
carson coffman offense scored as many points in three and a half quarters yesterday as grant gregory offense scored in the final three games last year. you are so incredibly Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!), i'm not even sure why i bother. dumbass.
-

I don't think we attempted a pass over 10 yards the whole first half, I'm not sure if bill was trying to build up coffy's confidence or what, but we HAVE to be able to throw the deep ball or it'll just be defenses with 9 guys in the box the whole game
-
He threw to smith who was wide open but put it out of bounds :frown: Shows the suckatude that Coffman possesses. As long as we only play teams with out a run defense then we should be fine.
-
Carson hate is pretty stale and played out.
He's the best we have for the season, so why bitch about it? He didn't throw any picks, and he didn't do anything to cost us the game. That's all he should be expected to do.
-

Got close though.
-
If carsy is the guy... I just want him to do what gregory did. Manage the game... And imo carsy is a more capable passer than Grant..
-
Hell no CC didn't throw any INTs... he didn't throw a 20 MF yard pass the entire game. If we try to ride DT the rest of the year exclusively, dudes gonna get dinged, then we will be proper fu*ked. We will be the most predictable team in the country. CC's got to go - he will cost us games. I don't think it's fair to judge Klien on his limited playing time at all.
FWIW, I personally saw all of our backups throwing the ball around including Cosh! The next couple of games can be good tune-ups for the other qbs.
-
It was tough out there, I saw a well conditioned young man throwing up in the parking lot due to the heat/altitude.
It was a brutal day.

Some of those sackd were rough ridin' stupid on his part. Overall, he looked much better throwing the ball this year, didn't one hop any throws to the flats that I remember. We onbviously didn't really even attempt to stretch the field, or Carson just loves little 5 and 6 yarders. We may just be trying to ease him into things a bit and give him some confidence. Luckily, UCLA had no answer for Thomas and Powell. Maybe by conference he will look decent enough to help us win 4 conference games or so.
-
Personally, I was shocked, shocked, that Klein didn't come in and take the game over. It's almost as if our starter is our best option.

Trent Dilfer has a Super Bowl Ring.
I just wish we had the ravens D, or that Rex Ryan wou;d have stayed DC for more than 18 hours.
-
It's not Carsy's fault that Bill can't recruit quarterbacks for crap...never has, in my estimation. His old AC's have moved on to other places and have recruited the position very well....as Bill has been steadily worse.
Explain that. MOTHER rough ridin' EXPLAIN THAT TO ME!
WHY THE eff DOES BILL SUCK SO MUCH ASS AT RECRUITING QUARTERBACKS????????? HEY BILL, YOU MOTHER rough ridin' SUCK AT RECRUITING QUARTERBACKS! eff YOU, BILL.
...been sitting on that one for 24 hours now....
-
we're just lucky that prince was able to sign carsy. just think how bad we would be without our starting qb. you weren't great at what you did ron, but we owe you one here. thanks old friend.
-
It didn't look like Klien even knew what position he was playing.

The numbers don't lie. The offense works a ton better with Coffman in there. He runs the option well.
-
Carson is equivalent to Brian Kavanagh. BK's OL was a lot better, allowing him more pocket time. BK wasn't any good when he had to scramble.
-

Debatable I would say.

Yeah, Cavanaugh was pretty damn decent.

recall kavanagh being able to throw further than 10 yards. but he had lockett so :dunno:
-
Our OL for BK aka double stack of biscuits and gravy couldn't get a hole made to run in . . . in a big game to save their souls.
BK was much better at reading defenses and making the throws than Carsy Coffman will ever be in his wettest of dreams.
-
Stanbot . . . and his hair was perfect . . . alluded to a possibility that OB doesn't coddle his QB's and that scares everybody away. If that's the case OB needs to understand something. Practice . . . we talkin bout practice.
But hey, the fact that he may not baby his QB's likely appeals to most Powertards. To them OB being a stubborn old fart is way more important than being good.

We'll see on what Carsy Coffman fan club president??

He got sacked!!!
:runaway:
-
Anyone remember the last KSU game where we beat a BCS team in the OOC? Did we rag on the QB as much then too? :dunno:
-
The QB's in those games were vastly superior athletes than Carsy Coffman. OB did protect Roberson much like he did Carsy in the first game against USC. The difference being that it was on the road, and I believe it was Roberson's first start and he was only a Soph as I recall.
-
Anyone remember the last KSU game where we beat a BCS team in the OOC? Did we rag on the QB as much then too? :dunno:
Anybody remember the last ksu qb to not lead their offense to a single point? Dax?
-
You know who else doesn't coddle QBs? Like 90% of the coaches in the country. Yeah, if you have a freaking Sam Bradford on the roster, he earns special attention. You think Stoops and co. are babying Blake Bell this year? No, dude's probably getting his ass busted on the scout squad.
-
You managed to completely make my point and totally invalidate your point in 1 or 2 sentences.
Thanks.
-
You managed to completely make my point and totally invalidate your point in 1 or 2 sentences.
Thanks.
If your point is directed towards me and it is that kavanaugh is even worse than Carson, then yeah...I agree.
-
No it wasn't directed at you.
Call me when Carsy Coffman steps in off the bench cold and throws 4 TD passes in a bowl game.
-
Also, Kav. is the star of a commercial
-
Kav:
9th all time in single season passing eff.
3rd all time in career passing eff.
Four, 4 td passing games in 1996
12th best single game passing yardage in K-State history.
14th best single season passing yardage in K-State history.
12th all time leading passer in K-State history.
That should be Carsy's goal . . . to be better than Brian Kavanaugh was, if he accomplishes anything resembling BK's numbers, we'll be pretty good.
-
Any stat ending with "...in K-State history" being used as a talking point is rough ridin' Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

Your point was that, no matter highly rated the QB in high school, he still has to earn his dues? Weird, it doesn't seem like that was your point. It seems like your point is the Bill and Co need to baby every qb on the roster from now on, in hopes of landing future qbs that expect coddling and shouldn't have to work. "We're talkin' bout practice," right?
-

No captain literal . . . become the man, get coddled. Be a 6th string RS Freshman Scout teamer . . . carry the pads. Now . . . how could you possibly know how Bobby Stoops treats his QB's?? If Bobby Stoops treated his QB's as just any old other player, do you think he'd be able to recruit as many highly rated QB's as he has?? And no . . . saying "It's OU" is not an answer. Studs have plenty of choices besides OU.
The last 4 or 5 QB's Stoops has recruited had a combined 37 D1 offers, most of them being BCS schools.
-

Yeah, it's rough ridin' Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!), to use K-state football "history" as a measuring stick for anything besides how to suck for a long time.
Geezus? :flush:

Yeah . . . that's what I am talking about, the entirety of K-State football history. Geezus . . . rally??

I can only imagine the multiple hate threads bashing on "Carsy" if we would have actually lost the game.
btw, if the topic is trying to blow the game......where is the hate thread on THartman...who was asleep at the wheel on UCLA's desperation drive?

Well, I know how he treated Bell during the recruiting process and he certainly wasn't acting like Prince sucking Freems wang. And yeah, OU does tend to land highly recruited players across the board. Their qbs also tend to win AA honors and Heismans. It's always been difficult for Snyder to recruit QBs for his system. The 4 and 5 star kids want to play in a system that will allow them to put up big numbers and hopefully get them in the NFL. If we were a mainstay in the top 25, we'd be landing some of these qbs we've been close on lately. But we're not, we've kinda sucked since like '04. We"ve got 2 decent prospects at the qb spot in this class and hopefully we wll be able to upgrade again in '12. But, we have to have success before we're going to land many real top level talents.

We don't even offer 3 star dual threats at Ft. Scott C.C. You point is in a matter of speaking ,pointless. You make it sound like a school like K-State can't find multiple 3 star dual threat QB's because K-State hasn't been in the Top 25 . . . nonsense. Those type of kids end up at schools with the same issues that K-State has all the time. It's about bad recruiting and the reputation that Snyder has in regards to the treatment of QB'S.
Again, the last 4 or 5 QB's that OU has recruited had 34 or 35 other D1 offers, many of those damn good programs. If Bob Stoops had a recruiting rep of treating QB's like any old body, or worse. He probably misses out on several of those kids.
If a capable QB can survive at K-State under Snyder, he'll be put in an offense that will allow him to put up prolific numbers.

calm down. You have nothing here.
I'm not defending "Carsy"....just saying that for a team that got it done....this thread is pretty whiney. That's all. I expect more from OB too....but if Daniel Sams turns out to be a bust then we can marvel at Snyder's ability to not recruit a QB since Roberson and still manage to have his name put on a stadium.

You don't really think that OU signs every QB it recruits, do you? And this "you have to baby players to recruit well" is, well, rough ridin' Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!). Let's just baby the crap out of players so we can recruit other players who expect to be babied as well?! I miss having Ben around because at least you stuck to pillow fighting with him back then and left the actual f-ball talk to the rest of us.
-
Hey dax, qb recruiting, sadly, isn't Snyder's doing. It's all on Del Miller. He gets the final say, this is coming from a source better than anything you have.

I know it's hard for you . . . given your proclivity to be extremely Powertardish most of the time. But again, this information is coming straight from a source who said it right there on the airwaves for all to hear, and he has mountains more access to the program than you'd ever dream of having. So I'll go with that source over your Powertardish little rantings.

Hey dax, qb recruiting, sadly, isn't Snyder's doing. It's all on Del Miller. He gets the final say, this is coming from a source better than anything you have.
Who is Del Miller's boss??
That's kind of like the CEO of a public company getting up at the shareholders meeting and saying this: "You know the sales team has really underperformed for 8 out of the last 11 years now, but that's Joe's call over there, I just let him make the calls, and don't blame me."
-
Teammates raving about how funny Carson is reminds me of Andre Gilbert.
-
you know who could make Carsy. I mean MAKE Carsy? Leach.

Love Dax's logic. Stan "alluding to the possibilty" that Bill not coddling QBs is hurting recruiting. How do recruits know how Bill handles the current QBs? Are current or former players talking trash on OB? Is it his behavior on the sidelines of games? Is he mean to them while recruiting them? Seems like a guy that is so plugged into the program like Dax's good ol' buddy Stan Weber would be able to offer a bit more tangible info.

Hey carson, you still suck bro. Try not to shazbot! up this season TOOOOOOOOO Bad. Thanks!
Hey 42 go read the "hey Guys" Thread. Get on board or GTOOMF!

Carsy, I ain't mad at ya'.
That fact that you're a horrible quarterback isn't your fault. feces, it would like me hating on the homeless guy with a third grade education for being plucked off the street and appointed to CEO at a Fortune 500 company. Can't do it.
What we all need to be hating on is the supposed hall of fame football college coach that for some unexplicable reason unbeknownst to anyone either can't identify that he doesn't have a single Division 1 quarterback on his roster and/or is utterly incapable of recruiting one year after year after year after year after year.

This "it isn't Carson's fault that Old Ballz sucks balls and can't recruit a QB" bandwagon should not be mutually exclusive from the "Carson sucks balls" bandwagon.

Yep, both premises support each other.

Yes jt . . . it's a super secret world, where no other coaching staff's collect information on other coaching staffs. How many assistants have passed through K-State over the years, how many graduate assistants, how many former players, how many coaches have worked with coaches who used to be at K-State, how many former players are involved in the coaching ranks, the high school ranks . . . let's see, Snyder has been at K-State nearly 20 years, so that means lots of them.
-
Oh and jt and Daris, what did I say earlier in this thread?? If Carsy can get into the same room with Brian Kav's aka double biscuits and gravy's 1996 numbers; me, you, and most of the Carsy detractors will take it all day and twice on Sunday . . . and . . . I'll even toss in the caveat that Kav's didn't have near the run blocking offensive line nor no one even remotely close to Daniel Thomas lining up in the backfield with him, so he had to throw the ball more. So like I said, if Carsy even sniffs 1800 yards passing and a 139 season long QB efficiency, and 20 TD passes with only 8 ints . . . we'll all be happy.

Dax- you still excommunicated from the athletic department? Cause you should be.

And with that . . . jt tosses in the towel.

Dax is essentially the anti-tard. While the tards see everything is a light that benefits KSU, Dax sees only darkness. Both are equally pointless to argue with because they will never, ever quit being a tard.
-
Let's review:
Since the game, I have praised the defense, continously complimented DT, given the offensive line every benefit of the doubt in pass protection. Yet . . . jt, now officially king of all resident tards, say's I only see darkness.
Classic . . . straight off the first page of the powerespect manual.

sodj, prince of darkness. :ohno:
