They might have tried but they really should have got a grad transfer QB like we did. Have a really nice group of WR that aren’t being properly utilized because Dekkers doesn’t have good touch.
They didn't try, they thought Dekkers was the guy, they were happy with what they saw from him last year. He was always the presumed starter, this year, going back to last season

Have a stud coming in next year to push Dekkers so they won’t have to live with that choice for long but it put a real damper on their 2022 season. Glad we didn’t roll with Will.
Yeah, they'll be in the same situation as us. Kohl isn't as dynamic as Avery though. He's actually pretty similar in style as Dekkers, he's a big pro style QB.

Per Mr. Chongs whose model correctly picked Tulane to win against Houston, albeit with slight aberration, Tulane is the best defense we have likely faced and we lost. I do worry a little if we get trapped in some uncreative play calling and lose 17-10.

Worst win feeling I've ever had, probablyI know what you mean, but I’d also feel differently if we had gotten that TD from Knowles. We were one flukey play away from 17-9 which is a bit more comfy.
Still a bit nervous about our conservative play calling. Especially in the second half you could pretty easily predict 90% of the plays we were going to run before they happened.

We won’t see a defense that good all year. We moved the ball well, but a fumble on a sure score, an iffy 3&1 play call and a missed field goal will do that to you when Campbell is taking the air out of the game all day.

Knowles scores and we convert the FG........this game looks a lot different on the scoreboard........but still.....we are inept for half the game which can't happen.We still got a lot of first downs. We were just playing with a narrow lead against a very good D for almost the entire game.
We still haven't played a Top 25 team yet.
I definitely would have liked to see some more short passes to open up the run game but for the most part the offense did what CK wanted it to: bleed clock and not ruin the momentum of the game.

I was going to talk a lot of crap but I was with my wife and 3 year old. He picked up the slack for me though. When we were walking 3 sorority girls told him how cute he was and ask them his name, he told them then said "haha we won and you lost." I nearly pissed myself laughing but then me and my wife apologized. Kid is EMAW a.f. and @Trim he's now best buds with Amy Button-Renz :ksu:

I actually can't remember the last time I have personally seen a compatibly physical football game. Probably some time in Snyder 1.0 that I'm forgetting, but even then the physicality was one way, this was both.
At home games I sit on the 30 yard line 13 rows up and I could feel the hits way more in the upper deck of that shitty stadium last night. It really is a perfect time for a bye. I don't know who ISU has on Saturday but if they're playing and you're a bettor you should consider fading them. A lot of dudes got beat the hell up.
