Title: Things a gE’r was curious about that another gE’r couldn’t answer
Post by: Trim on August 18, 2022, 09:27:33 PM
Inspired by this:

Everyone here likes to talk about the places we’ve been and would happily give you all the info you need plan a trip in the US.  Just tell us where you want to go.

Has there ever been something gE didn’t collectively have the answer for, or at least great advice?

there is a reason we all still post here despite us barely talking about sports. I've accumulated the greatest collection of posters/friends there was to be had and weeded out 99% of the waste. each of us has our own niche. legal expertise, travel, kids, farming, being a funny guy, katdaddy, you name it.

That does seem weird. I would have expected more of a rubbing alcohol taste.  :dunno:

I mean sure, I guess.

Great Bend plays in the Western Athletic Conference so I have always considered them west. Also when you're traveling east to west on 400 Pratt always seemed like the western gateway to me.

The correct answer is 183, east of Hays is central KS and west of Hays is western KS.

But when I really think about it I do think that western ks starts earlier in southern ks than it does in northern ks.  Like, I agree that Great Bend should be in the west, or at least on the border. So what if the border starts in the south along 281 and extends north until it reaches I-70.  Then it takes a left turn to Hays before extending north along 183 through Phillipsburg and to the Nebraska border.  So Hays is still the gateway to the west further north, but in the south it's Pratt and Great Bend.  Yes, I think we've done it, good job everyone.

Osborne & Smith Center are north central Kansas.  Phillipsburg & Stockton are western Kansas. Victoria is western Kansas, but it’s a suburb of Hays.

I guarantee you by New Yorkers, they mean people in NYC. It's actually Buffalo people who don't want to be called upstate, they consider themselves "WNY," Western New York. That 7% are Western New Yorkers now living in the city.

Ok have a good question—

If you on a major thoroughfare and are approaching an intersection with a light are you also responsible for not blocking intersections on side streets that have stop signs during a red light?
Title: Re: Things a gE’r was curious about that another gE’r couldn’t answer
Post by: sys on August 25, 2022, 04:57:07 PM
like the line at the stoplight intersection is so long that it extends past the intersection with the next nearest cross street (that has a stop sign rather than light?)

Yes, but only on the side streets, not the main road. So the main road has the right of way.

i think you don't have an obligation to leave it unblocked, but it would be courteous to allow drivers on the side street to complete a turn at some point.

Mushrooms are absolutely worth it. I think I’ve documented my experiences on this board with them and the positive longer term effects of them. But boomers are easy to obtain and have minimal negative side effects (though my bro barfed every time). The adjace versions probably have comparable upside but are harder to obtain for most, more barfing and butt barfing for a lot of people, and basically the juice isn’t worth the squeeze when psilocybin shrooms are available. Also LSD sucks bigtime in comparison to mushrooms. I’m just one guy though and I’m sure everyone’s experience is different.

psilocybin and lsd, when done with enough prep work and post-session integration, can be absolutely life-changing and are not party drugs; they are cutting-edge psychiatric medications.  Without doing the work, they make stuff look kinda weird and make Pink Floyd albums fun.

Psilocybin and MDA (not MDMA) therapy been incredibly beneficial for me. LSD has as well, but I don't think I would have been able to use it beneficially if I hadn't had psilocybin experiences before.

DMT is the main component of ayahuasca and I've experienced that. But taking DMT lasts like 15mins verses the multi-hour experience of ayahuasca. In that short amount of time, I doubt I have much to offer about a full ayahuasca trip.

I love talking about this stuff and my gE friends who see me a lot probably get sick of me preaching about them. But I highly recommend them for everyone who feels like they could benefit from having a new perspective on themselves, their life, the universe, etc. The best thing I can compare it to is that in our day-to-day lives we're in a crowd watching a play. But these substances let you go back stage so you can see the inner workings and details that make the play take place.

They do not keep well in a freezer I’ve heard from a friend fyi

I don't think your friend used an oxygen absorber.

I've had really good results with Kratom, but you want to be extra careful with it as it's quite addictive.

I mostly use the white vein varieties as it gives you a nice clear-headed energy and focus boost without the jitters of too much caffeine.

Zero, unless that is what you want to do, if that’s the case 100%.

Nobody has ever said mushrooms are "hard", wtf

I dunno man.  From what I've heard from local experts a solo heroic dose with a focused intention can be one of the most challenging (yet productive) experiences of your life.

I don’t drink, but I may do mushrooms on occasion going forward. I’ve always loved them, but they are a commitment for 12 hours. Probably 4 - 6 hours of being unable to do anything productive other than sit an experience it…followed by sleep (if you are lucky).

Do them in your living room with people you like/love and trust, and get lots of sleep the next day.

Do not, for example, do them and go sit in a booth at Rockabelly and sit with people who do not like drugs, and then try to act like you are not on drugs.

I did just under 1g one time, trying to microdose, and had previously only done larger amounts.  The almost-1g amount was perfect for most people.

I was riding around in the passenger seat of a jeep with its doors off when it hit and that was the most entertaining car ride of my life.

Agree! If I had to do it over again, I would have never drank and then occasionally used marijuana and mushrooms and nothing else whatsoever.

Also, stay off the narcotics, kids.

When I think of "hard drugs" I think of drugs that people rob people/harm people in order to get. So opioids, meth, and I suppose alcohol by that definition. No one's robbed anyone in order to purchase shrooms.

Ah, gotcha.  I misinterpreted the original post.  I took “hard” to mean “difficult,” which psilocybes absolutely can be.  I agree 100% with your definition of “hard drugs” and lol every time someone refers to the classicals as such.

Absolutely.  For some, alcohol destroys lives.  For some, psilocybin saves them.

for sure but I get the feeling mushrooms can be a very intense intimate experience and like you can just walk away from a tailgate party without drinking if it sucks

I’ve been doing the Stamnet’s Stack for micro dosing.

~.3-.5g of psilocybin
100mg of niacin
500mg of lion’s mane

You do it 4 days a week, then take three off.

Some of my doses have prob been too big and closer to low doses which did produce minimal noticeable effects. Micros aren’t supposed to be felt consciously.

Did a low dose prob 1-1.5g. Wow, that’s a sweet spot. I’d def p&l/P66 on that amount. I couldn’t really trip (3.5g or more) in either of those environments. Too overwhelming.
