Does this bozo have a big buyout? I think his contract runs through the '19 season so I guess Curry could retain him w/o another ridiculous 1yr extension.
-
I believe it is $2.5 mil. (the buyout)
-
This team will lose to Baylor by 15-20 Saturday... then they will beat KU Monday, oscar will get a contract extension Thursday morning.. then they'll lose to WVU by 25-30 next Saturday.
It's going to be an entertaining next 10 days.

Gosh I hope we don't beat KU. We are staring straight at losing 8 of 10. oscar has got to go.

That's the bonuses he'd still be entitled to if he got fired. Now read 4.01 that talks about termination.
-
don't fire him now, you idiots.
-
Why not sys?
-
Take your kp30nt out of this

He's lost this team, if they fire him now and let Lowery be interim, I think this team could come together and win some games down the stretch. And dipshit ADJC would use that as a showcase for Lowery and sign him up full time like a dumbass.

You are in a minority. Sorry brobrobudman.

you people pick now of all times to want to fire him?

they've gone mad, tobias.

Did you need 5 years to know about Huggins? Frank? Did the Squawks have to wait 5 years to know about Roy or Self?
There is more to basketball than seeking to "have fun watching their games."
-
The mantra is not fire him NOW. You're just seeing people who are having the scales washed from their eyes by the spittle mixed with mud created by the ghost of Jack Hartman.
-
Some of you people are lapsing ethically.
KSU, currie and oscar...

You, sys, and Trim are on an island. Lo siento.
-
This is the best ksu bball team in three years. Clear progress each of the last three years.
-
why did we keep extending him? who did we think was going to poach him?

You are a natural born loser
-
How much has oscar earned per conference win compared to what ku is going to pay beatty?
-
You are a natural born loser
change for change's sake doesn't make any sense, pett.
-
oscar is at $240-250K per conference win if we lose out.
-
we aren't going to lose out, for eff's sake. we might be able to work a pay cut into an extension. weber is of an age where i imagine he values stability.
-
Get it together, sys.
-
why did we keep extending him? who did we think was going to poach him?
What do you mean "keep?" The last time he was extended he had two years left, I'm sure you've heard a million times about the perils of recruiting on a one or two year deal. If oscar didn't get extended we almost certainly wouldn't have any of the freshmen and sophomores on this team that people enjoy watching.
Sorry for not following the hive and not making some joke about Currie :curse:
-
Each of his 2 extensions happened after 1 year of the 5 he had on his then-deal. Barring an in-season extension, this off-season will be the first time he's only had 2 years remaining.
Section 3.01(a) in each.

Look edn, that isn't hard to do.

crazy how you like some links and not others.

It does mean though that if not in-season, this summer we have to LOCK HIM UP. It's one thing to have a vocal minority of fans calling for his head. We can't have mid-majors across america negatively recruiting by claiming he's on the "hot seat" w/only 2 years left on his deal.
-
I could totes see Currie trying to get oscar to push the midmajor eject button instead of firing him.

Wha? I'm not even gonna waste my time arguing this. Look at it this way, 2 years of not making the tournament or pony up and get a new coach.
Damn! He trippin' so hard fans are gonna think he done fell off!
-
what if we could renegotiate the deal so that we're paying him an adjustable amount based on totals wins, though? something like a 100k per win base, with a 100k per win bonus for all wins over 15 would probably be fair for both weber and the fans.

Can you even imagine what the non-con schedule would look like in that scenario, barring interference from a rogue schedulemaker?
-
Would oscar take a lateral move to mizzou?

How about this:
200K for top 25 wins.
150K for wins vs 26-50.
100K for wins vs 51-100.
75K for wins 101-200.
50K for wins 200+.

i love it. let's just tweak it a little higher on the quality scale. 250k for top 25s and 0k for 275-s. some get him locked up with this.
-
wait, here's an even better idea. he gets 300k per win - the defeated opponent's end of year kp rank. so 299k for beating the kp champ and he owes the university 30k for beating the 330rd team.

Can someone link this?

I imagine it is filled with great lols
EDIT:
helps if I add the link...
-
I have to admit my intellectual and sophisticated side of my brain is still supporting oscar, but the caveman reactionary crass side says flush it before it becomes alive forever. If you want a change, you have to let General Myers know your thoughts. He knows about the glory days. He was in school when we beat KU regularly. Curdog could.care less.

Cooling off
oscar Weber, Kansas State Wildcats
Fans in Manhattan were frustrated by the last two seasons, in which the Wildcats were 32-33 overall. But Weber went dancing in his first two seasons at K-State, and the program is 15-7 this season, 4-5 in Big 12 play. He has a chance to get back to the tourney with a strong finish.

Ty.
And  this writer is purely looking at record instead of the trash container ablaze
