Text Trim then

Brent's defense looks to be on point
-
Our HCIW looks great.
-
BV had his backfield playing way to soft on the second first down Bama made.
-
Go tigers!
-
The Cope/Stoops/Venables attacking D just eats up a pro style O with a mediocre qb
-
full on purple cats here
-
Does Alabama's running back not know how ridiculous his hair looks?
-
Poor form tackling defense will at least be similar to what we are used to

Terrible gap control on that play.
-
Hell yes! TD to a walk on wr? BV will transition well.

It's almost time for Ben and Olivia to go straight to pound town

Yall just the SEC's bitch.
-
Yeah. Bama just doesn't have what it takes.
-
Did that Bama guy just try to blow out Watson's knee with his helmet?
-
Film room is excellent again.
ya but it needs to be full screen picture for the game feed or the game the big box at the very least
-
Not sure if it was officials error or the guy running clock effed up....but Clem got hosed out of a play. Could have spiked ball and had :09 or :10 on clock. We will never know if they could have gotten closer FG that a Bama player doesn't partially block.
Great 1st half. I thought Clem slightly outplayed Bama. The TO and short field was key play why game is tied
-
Interested to see what bama doors to take away Watson.

Yeah. I don't understand how the clock is running when the ball isn't even spotted for play.
-
Or why no official cared enough to correct it.
-
Or why no official cared enough to correct it.
Maybe like the rest of america, because it's mid-january.
-
Saban is a great coach AND a $!#*.
-
WTF is Clemson doing when punting?
-
Total blown assignment by Clem Secondary and the safety specifically. Only 1 DB on the 2 WR/TE to start the play, and then safety never even came over to help and let the TE get deep. Just poor.
At least Clem got 3 pts back
-
Darn, forgot the game was on until just now. Been watching Love It Or List It for the last 2 hours.
-
Film room is excellent again.

Yeah, this is when I need a 75" tv.
-
lol clemson still does the 4th quarter symbol by raising their hand above their head with 4 fingers raised
-
Clemson 'wants this more,' you guys
-
Huge play to start the 4th. If Clemson can get the stop on 3rd down, they should have ball in Bama territory after the punt.
-
I think Clemson has won something like over 50 games in a row when leading going into the 4th quarter.
-

So close!
-
Of the last 37 plays run in the game, Bama Defense been out there for 24 of the them. Clem can really wear them down on this drive (spiritually too) with a TD
-
Did you guys see Nissan give props to Chevy, Ford, and Dodge, then say our Cummins in a Chevy body is going to be awesome?
-
If #15 runs to the the front of the goal line like he is taught, that ball is downed at the 1 yd line. He let up and didn't get to his spot in tine. Costly....19 yds costly
-
Big balls jfc saban
-
BV's secondary will fit in well with K-States style.
-
2nd total breakdown in this half. Just unacceptable for a TE to be wide open deep twice.
-
Renfrow is the epitome of 5 hearts across the globe
-
2 Special teams plays (7 pts and the equivalent of a Turnover)
2 broken plays on Defense (easy TDs)
Tough to overcome mistakes/plays like that in a half
-
gross
-
550 yards vs that great Bama Defense. Hats off to D. Watson and the Clemson offense
Bama only had 32 yds rushing in 2nd half but still scored 31 pts (24 by the offense)
3 catches of 50+ yds by the Bama TE
-
BV's D got picked apart! :frown:
-
Don't have to like him, but Saban is one of the best ever. 5 titles in 11 years is crazy.
-
That Coker interview was almost as painful as the Ezekiel Elliot interviews last year
-
There has been quite a bit of justified talk about the onside kick. I also thought that the ball had to travel 10 yards and either hit the ground or have been touched by the receiving team. I know for sure in high school it must hit the ground AND travel 10 yards, but it doesn't sound like that is the case with college. However, the rule isn't completely clear.

Under article 3 above, #1 definitely didn't happen. #2 did happen, but combined with #3 it just adds confusion.
To be fair, if the Clemson player had simply made an attempt to go field the ball while it was in the air, the Alabama player couldn't have touched him or it would have been kick catch interference.
-
The sub-articles contain the 'or' operator, so #2 is true and #3 being false shouldn't matter.

The title game belongs on network TV. Do all of simulcast stuff on ESPN, ESPN2, etc., but the main feed needs to be available to the masses.

That makes sense, but this is also why including #3 at all is confusing. The general conception by many in football is to assume the ball has to hit the ground on an onside kick. I know they changed some of the onside kick rules in the last few years for how many players can be on either side of the ball and the fact that the receiving team can fair catch a kick that bounces once, but I'm not sure if this was included.
-
I've never ever heard that the ball has to hit the ground. The reason they kick it off the ground is to take away fair catch.

Its probably the connection to high school where I know the rule is both hit the ground and travel 10 yards.
College now allows a fair catch on one bounce.
-
Clemson lost on special teams, clearly. Could've used an expert coach of the year like Sean. :runaway:

I agree, CFB is the only major (even including hockey, not sure on mls) with the title game on cable right?
That number is pitiful for an exciting game with almost an exclusive window (there were only 3 NBA games and zero non low major CBB games)
-
Beems is going to be pumped!
-
If ESPN / ABC thought they would get significantly higher numbers by putting the NCG on network tv, they probably would have done so.

if you're too poor to be able to afford cable television, then you don't deserve to spend 3-4 hours watching a football game on espn

Is the rating partially due to splitting viewers among 5 different channels? After flipping through them I have a hard time believing many people watched anything other than the ESPN feed as most were hot garbage.

They put it on espn because it bumps subscribers in an Era where they are losing people pretty quickly.

You would be correct, sir. ESPN goes through a lot of effort for that extra 0.2 in the ratings.
-

I bet with just three short years as HCIW at KSU Saban could learn how to win the right way and lead the Cats to some big time victories.
-
Winning the right way may just be the 17th goal (similar to the 12th man).
-

Of course it gets higher ratings if on network.
The question is what gets the highest combined rating: Championship game on ESPN and something else (reality show?) on ABC OR championship game on ABC and something else (women's college basketball?) on ESPN.
-
The difference between the most meaningful regular season and a championship winner largely dictated by the choice of a committee.
