I'm putting it out there. waters crap the bed last night. what the hell were some of those throws? SAMs (stud) was built for games like last night. eff you Snyder for kicking him off the team
-
Yep. Sams and Boykin are basically the same player except sams is better.
-
agree
-
I figured that whomever controlled the game with their respective style would win. It was clear that TCU dominated taking the Cats out of their game. TCU was too fast and too athletic for K-State, which was apparent when even Tyler Lockett was looking back on the 70 yard score and kick off return called back to see if someone was coming up from behind. I have no problem giving TCU their props. This teams has the offensive firepower of the 2012 Oregon Ducks a defense that just creates complete chaos like the 2011 OSU team. TCU should be undefeated right now, and nothing wrong in admitting that.

intrinsic values and heart are much more important than winning

Waters is not a playmaker. If it doesn't come exactly as the offense is designed we get nothing or a negative play. You need playmakers to beat good teams, guys who can make something out of nothing. Waters can't do that.
-

I agree. The Wildcats are a good team, with a lot of heart. Granted we should have been undefeated going into that game, but no need to pretend Sams would have made a difference. The Wildcats need to focus on how to counter the speed and athleticism of opponents by controlling the tempo of games. We will see that again at the end of the season. For now, we still have a conference championship to contend for.

Hey shut up idiot, did you not see my "playmaker" comment? It's brilliant.
-
I want a gif of Waters fumbling and, instead of recovering it, pulling his hand away to avoid being hit. It was such a bitch move.

any chance bill benches him versus WVU?

Only an idiot would try to make it about 1 player. Guess what Waters was not on the defense having to chase down 2 running backs that ran for over 100 yards each or WRs falling on their butt then getting up and still making the catch. So much for your brilliance.

He was on the offense that kept going 3 and out, giving the defense short fields.

And leaving them exhausted as he chewed his fingernails on the sideline

Of course I can blame Jake for everything. He's the quarterback, which is the most important position in all of sport, and also it fits nicely with my agenda.

I don't know that we'd beat the with Sams, but by now it's brutally obvious this entire team is built for a true dual-threat QB, not a pro-style that is an ok runner.

I agree and it was clear even last year that Waters was far slower than Sams. But in Stillwater last year, OSU merely crowded the box to force Sams to throw or waited for him to make a costly mistake.
There are developed dual threat QBs like Boykin and the kids from Auburn and Oregon and then there are so-called QBs such as Waters, Petty etc that have a better arm and than legs or the those like Sams and Walsh at OSU who have better legs, but no couldn't consistently hit the side of a barn. Either way Sams would have been forced to beat TCU in the air which would have resulted in 3 and outs as well or worse him creating turnovers as he did last year. Either way, the defense has to contend with the mess and get worn out. This is less about Waters and more about how the team as a whole handle teams such as Oregon, TCU and Baylor.

this team needs to find our Steve DeBerg, that guy was a master of the play action

Tough as nails too

This is what 2003 would have looked like if we ended up giving the job to Dunn over Roberson.
I know a lot of people thought the Sams/Waters, Roberson/Dunn comparison was lazy, but Waters and Dunn were so much alike, and Sams and Ell looked a lot alike as RS-SO. I do wonder what would have happened if we would have invested in Sams like we did Ell, but I guess I'm more upset that we pushed for Waters over Marshall. There is a very clear pattern to our QB recruiting, and Waters was such an outlier.
Anyway, I blame Del. This feels like something I should blame on him.
-
Del/dimel are openly racist

Waters/Marshall situation flat out sucks, the dirt I heard on Sam's is his body is just not durable enough. I tend to agree with this.

More or less durable than Waters (who is currently injured)?

Less, like getting through 4 games for Sams is really hard.
-
Sams probably would have been more durable if we wouldn't have run so many QB draws with him.
-
Take away one pass play last year and Waters is 9-23-1 for 155 yards against TCU. He also rushed for a net 20 yards vs TCU last year.
Sams rushed for a net 109 yards vs TCU last year and had an 11 yard TD run.
-
Dimel cut the balls off of the team, basically.

Sams is gone guys. If we had Nick Marshall the team would probably be better, but the the future is now. What's the point of having this conversation anymore?

I used to be open minded, but after last night, I never want a non-duel threat QB ever again.

Particularly when, after the top receiver, the overall athleticism of the receiving corp drops off a cliff. I mean, that is if you still want to live the pipe dream of winning a natty with the Cult of the Walk-on/DITR. If you want Cult of the Walkon/DITR than enjoy the coachem ways, expect 2 to 4 losses a year. Which in and of itself is perfectly fine for many reasons.

Your QB lost that game for you ????? :ksu: :ksu: You got your ass handed to you in every phase of the game.... come on Piss pants

Best day for ku football fans in years. ku actually won a game, and K-State lost. Super Bowl!!

They crap their pants against Baylor. :whistle1:
