Call me crazy, but I like it.
-
Waaaaaaaay to many points.
-
Might just go all in on the -39250 ML
-
Whoeves we play (as long as it isn't ku) to cover would be basically the easiest bet of the season.
-
Seems like a pretty spot on line to me. I wouldn't touch it.

huh?
-
I am saying I font think we put up that big of a spread
-
I wouldn't touch this bet with ERII's -10,000 gambling debt with a world wide poll.

Apparently you missed it when I crushed march madness last season. (all posted)
-
I wouldn't risk a whole farm on this one...perhaps just the pumpkin patch.

I made $12 on a bet too. :D

Where did you see this line posted, ERII?

When was the last time we won by 37 noncon?

Didn't you lose half of your farms on a Royals game last week? :gocho:

Great... You're still short over half of what you lost to me.
:dubious:
-
I think we'll be ahead by at least 37 at some point (something like 48-7), but don't think we'll win by 37+ (something like 48-17).

Hey man! That was good bet. K-state beat Ok state in basketball and the Chiefs blew a 28 point lead vs the colts. :shakesfist:

what a day :frown:
-
Winters, we watched that game together and party rocked hard. :)
-
I was going to be reasonable, but then i got high
-
Just messin' witcha WC08... I was more gutted than you that day because I was on the same play for a bit more than you.
Now, pertinent to this thread, here's some food for thought: The SFA Lumberjacks have been outscored, 209-20, over their last four meetings with an FBS level opponent and were statistically the VERY WORST defense in all of FCS last year.
I'm gonna lay the points.
Cats - 56
SFA - 10
:kstategrad:
-
i'd probably take the +37
-
Correction: They were the SECOND to the worst overall defense in FCS last year allowing 528 ypg.
-
It should be very easy for the Cats to cover this spread, but then again I sat down and witnessed all of our games against FCS schools since Snyder took over for Prince, so if I had to throw down money, I would go with the Cats not covering.
-
Keep in mind Lockett probably won't play second half
-
I really think everybody here is underestimating how truly awful SFA is defensively. Its almost impossible to give up over 500 yds per game and to do it vs FCS level competition for a season is baffling.
:sdeek:
-
SFA had the worst scoring defense, worst pass defense, 2nd worst total defense, and 3rd worst pass efficiency defense in FCS football (out of 122 teams) last year.
The Cats are going to score some points.

The Line: Kansas State (-37)
After this game, Stephen F. Austin will take on Incarnate Word. That’s a real school, and it also gives you an idea of what kind of matchup we’re trying to handicap.
At 5Dimes, K-State has been pegged as a 37-point favorite. For an offense that will bring back Tyler Lockett, one of the Big 12’s premier wideouts, along with quarterback Jake Waters, who showed plenty of promise while sharing reps last year, this seems somewhat low.
The Wildcats come into this game having covered seven of their last nine in 2013. Let’s take advantage of a number that seems somewhat favorable and hope that K-State makes it eight of 10.

Yeah, they are terrible, just awful. I can't see them making much improvement in the spring/fall. Waters could have 400 and Lockett could have 250 if Snyder plays them much in the 2nd half.

But how much will we give up?
-
They've averaged 5 ppg in their last four games vs FBS competition.
Maybe they double it and get 10?
-
But how much will we give up?
17 or less.
I see a 55-10 type of game.

Would take. My shoulder might be a little sore on Sunday from all the high 5'n with MIR tho.

How many backup Willies do we have for pushups? Maybe this should have been Ft. Riley day to help with that.
-
I dunnnnno guys. BUT I hope we are looking ahead the whole game.
-
It's hard to see us being that dominant in our first game considering how bad we've been the last couple years against these teams. But I'll take your word for it.
-
I realize SFA had a good offense last year, but they ran a quick no huddle system (87 plays per game) which only magnifies their defensive problems. Their new coach from Central Arkansas ran a similar quick offense (81 plays per game), so that won't change much, plus the transition to a new system. FCS teams simply don't have the athletes across the field to make these systems work against FBS teams, unlike NDSU last year which was just the opposite combining great experience with a tempo that contributed greatly to the upset. Plus the Cats are used to seeing some of the best no huddle offense in the country in the Big 12, so that shouldn't be a new challenge.
K-State should cover easily and if the Cats win the TO margin and/or special teams by a large margin it could get really ugly.

I must admit, however, that I'll be super disappointed if we stall in FG range once, let alone twice though.

we scored ten points against eastern kentucky. thats all ill say at this point

Check the seasons when Snyder returns a starting QB. That's all I'll say at this point. :D
-
If we win by 37 points then Waters to Lockett better account for at least 5 TDs

In 2012, we led the Missouri State Bears 16-9 going into the 4th quarter. The score ended up lopsided thanks to 3 really big plays in the 4th, but it was ugly. For whatever reason, the Cats just haven't come to play against FCS competition in quite some time. I'm optimistic that will change this year, but I wouldn't bet money on a 37 point spread.
-
Fading goEMAW consensus is generally VERY profitable...

Doesn't apply to this season b/c those QBs all won a lot of games in their first season unlike waters (except for ell but he was a soph and was surrounded by garbage talent)

are we talking about the home opener or full season? we suck the first game of the year. it is known
-
Home opener against FCS schools. Yeah, it was an ugly game, but the CoffCats still scored 48 in that game. Those 4th quarter points still scored.
FWIW, I don't think it will be that ugly this time around. I'd guess we'll have 28+ at halftime.

i hope youre right, not gEing here at all i honestly think that the playcalling is more of a motivational thing for our players than anything and last year it bit him in the ass.
-
We were winning our non-cons back then by so much for a variety of reasons, a couple being less parity in the 90's and also the fact that most of our team was gigantic creatures that mainlined ped's for breakfast. If we beat SFA by 37+ points, I'll be extremely impressed.

I don't care who the teams are, taking -37 is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) for a ton of reasons.
-
Bookie, how many farms? I can't believe you'll bet more than one, and more than likely it'll be one down by Council Grove, which only counts as half a farm.
Gonna win 'em all!
-

Just a standard single farm (Hillsboro area) play like all of the opening weekend plays... Will wait to get more data before betting multiple (brown, fertile dirt with mineral rights) farms.

Apparently those who bet large sums of cash skrilla (enough to move point spreads) on CFB sporting events seem to disagree with the average goEMAW handicapper...
The line has moved from K-State -37 to -41 at 5dimes
http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/offshore/

theres just no effing way
-
LHCBS has some farms to move.
-
nope nope nope nope
-
idea: gE bets all of our site funds on the +41.
upside: we either get to enjoy a 41+ point ksu cats win or we get to win a lot of money
downside: :dunno:

this is how i like to gamble when it comes to cat sports

Snyder will throw a bomb to Lockett once to help cushion a lead. Then it will be hand offs, read options, short routes, and timeouts to avoid delay of game penalties the rest of the game.
Farm on the under.
-
bill is going to try and get TL a shlt ton of yards and td's.
he might have 20 catches tomorrow.
-
I would be shocked if we ran a single read option.
-
Maybe SFA is really terrible or something.
-
HURRY!! BET ON SFA BEFORE VEGAS HEARS ABOUT LOCKETT!!!
-
I see a 28 pt win...41 would be nice though. Would require a lot of tos from SFA.
