in the history of ever, has there ever been a more over-consumed crap-tier food product. i vote no, and it is not even close.
the only redeeming quality is that one time a deer got it's head stuck in a bag of doritos and made for a totally adorbs pic

Hey, i'm going to take this random root that looks like dirt and slice it up real thin then throw it in some fat, let it get real crispy then sell it in a bag that is only like 1/2 full, gonna make a killing.

it's amazing, they market doritos in many different flavors but they all taste like crap. pull the wool off your eyes people. cool ranch, nope just crap. nacho cheese, crap in that bag too. they are all crap.

Sick of doritos? Here is a pro-tip:
get a nice plain/salted kettle chip (kettle brand or art and mary's)
get a mixing bowl that has a lid.
mix in
cut 1/2 lime
pepper grinder
worcestershire sauce
hot sauce
with chips and lightly shake.
MUCH better than junky doritos.

Doritos are okay like once or twice a year.
It's not something I really buy.. Way too syntheticy IMO.

Doritos are OK and have been for years. For me, D's are a good go-to snack when I'm on the road, stop at a gas station, and need some fun food to tide me over until I get home for some of Mrs. Bones' great cookin'

Doritos are great. That off-brands can't accurately replicate their delicious flavor is a testament to their quality. A truly elite-level chip.
That isn't to say that others aren't as good or better. I like Art's and Mary's as much as the next guy, probably more than Doritos.
Chip Ranking
1. A&M or some other similar kettle-style chip. (Regular and Jap flavor)
2. Guy's or some other similar style chip. (original)
3. Doritos (Spicier Nacho)

doritos can be made in anyone's house using oven bake corn masa flavored with kitchen & bath cleaners
why anyone would want to duplicate the flavor is beyond me, i would rather enjoy pigeon tuesday

Doritos are undoubtedly the crown jewel of corn chip snacks and its not even close. Likewise, crown jewels are the Doritos of royal regalia. Nobody else is even in the same ballpark. Chili Cheese Fritos? Close but no. Tostitos? Yeah right. Santitas? GTFO.
I'm also not sure how this thread is being mucked up with discussions of different kinds of potato chips. Potato chips can be great too but it's just a different kind of snack all together. It's not an apples to apples comparison. Hell its not even an apples to oranges discussion, it's a rough ridin' corn to potatoes discussion.
