Heard Frank is in the market for some Juco left overs.

Where did you hear that?  I've yet to see any evidence of KSU recruiting anyone but Jerrone Maymon since November.

It's been floated around that we're after a JUCO All-American, but I'm not sure if we got to him in time.  Sounds like Gonzaga and OU are on him pretty good.

Is there a snowball's chance in hell he qualifies?

Well, if he's not currently qualified then no.  Because he's not going to school right now.  From what I can tell he spends his time playing 2k10, making big plates of breakfast featuring pancakes, watching basketball, looking at pronhub and talking to people about liking money.

Pretty sure he's been going to school.

I'm guessing he wasn't typing a paper last week for his health.

B. Something you've seen from our current players.
C. Supreme confidence the staff will figure it out.
D. Utter delusion.

A combo of B, C, D, and watching WV.
Also its a bit of semantics mumbo jumbo.  We don't need a PG so much as we need the right combo-guard to compliment Jake.  Denis was one style of combo-guard who worked well, but I don't think he's the only type.

yeah, except I don't see what style irving or russell have besides average (on their best days).  so sure, if one of those two players can provide a different, non-sucky style then we'll be okay.

Thought Frank has said in the past he wants something similar to Roy's teams...two players on the court who can handle the ball.  Maybe Southwell becomes that guy in a point forward role?  Can he really be that much more limited offensively than Dom?

Even if he did say that, I'm not sure you can take it for anything more than educated speculation.  It's way too early to make a decision like that.

If the 'cats go juco they should go with Josh Watkins...easily the best player in the juco tourny. Carter is a nice player, pretty selfish, but a scorer. Don't know if he will buy in on the defensive end of the floor.  On the other hand, Watkins is very comparable to Sherron Collins (on the court sherron collins minus UNI game), very physical, quick, explosive first step and can finish at the rim on bigs. btw he can defend, anyone is an upgrade compared to deny on defense!

Has anyone heard anything about Watkins or where he is going or has offers from?

Please ask him where he is planning to live next year along with what time his first class will be and how long he will be away from the house.  Also ask if he has any guns or an intruder alarm, and ask what kind of car he'll drive, where he plans to park and whether he prefers Jimmy John's or Quizno's.

That should be enough to totally freak him out.

Big difference is Russell was clearly a fallback.  Spradling seemed like more of a priority.  He was offered really early (Irving is the only similar '10 player I remember us chasing).  Russell wasn't offered until after Burks picked CU.

I was all over that.  I really think he has high hopes for Sprads.

He had high hopes for Nick.  Not making me more comfy.

Big difference is Russell was clearly a fallback.  Spradling seemed like more of a priority.  He was offered really early (Irving is the only similar '10 player I remember us chasing).  Russell wasn't offered until after Burks picked CU.

Great point.  They must see some things in Sprads they really like.

If you look at the current canidates (other than Jake) to fill minutes at the guard spot, Spradling is the best option offensively.  Of course, Frank never plays the best offensive option over the best defensive option.

True, but Spradling will probably play smart defense (because he's white).

No, I meant smart.  I'll bet he picks up what Frank wants him to do quickly.  Mo-Kan's a good organization.
