Ya know :dunno:
-
it was that inbound play we gave up last night, wasn't it? :frown:
-
Need backdoor stats tia
-
It does conjure up some great visuals thinking about Frank looking at his future roster while he was still at K-State. Realizing he'd completely eff'd it up on the recruiting trail, Midwest recruiting bridges all ablaze. No doubt the wheels were in motion early and often to scapegoat his way to another job.
-
Dax is really hung up on Frank Martin it seems.

I am too, FWIW. Eff him for not getting along with his boss. Man up!

By repeated implication, so is most of this board. It's very  to read the denials though, so I don't mind.

Well, I'm openly disappointed with how the program was handled by many people, including Frank. It just seems your standard argument is to tear down Frank and offer little else, and minimize the success he did have.

dax with one of those wrestling reversal moves.. true BBS'n pro at work

Again, by repeated implication the Frankites want to revise reality, I address that. In terms of handling the program, while Frank was here, 95% of the mishandling resides directly with Frank. In hindsight, the objective person can say it was mishandled significantly. But like I always say, coaches who really have no intention of staying for the long haul will conjure up bogeymen in order to justify their exit.

I can be objective and see the program wouldn't have sustained long term unless recruiting improved and the Frankings were subdued.
May I ask what your implications are about the future based on the stats you provided?
-
All players would have a higher shooting percentage if Angel, a Frank player, were still on the team.

To me it's pretty telling when you have true freshman showing that they are more highly skilled players than Seniors. I don't know about oscar, but from a talent perspective betwen several of the guys playing now, and what I think we have in guys who can't play right now, . . and then toss in Hurt, I think there's plenty to be optimistic about.
ChiCat . . . one tip of the Cat to Shane, he's a better passer than Angel.
-
The level of competition and playing time is making them look better than they are. They have been more talented than the competition, which they should be. Foster is legitimately good. Westicles may become a solid player but, on a more balanced/experienced team, shouldn't be seeing the floor all that often yet. Really interested to see Thomas play.
Also, enjoyed "Tip of the Cat"

Remember the OOD during the Frank era? Remember ending the streak? Remember College Gameday? Remember not losing in the first round of the tourney? Remember Elite 8? Remember being mentioned on national sports broadcasts because we had an identity as a team?
That's all gone.
-
What just happened?
-
the point that should be taken from dax's numbers is that the freshman should leave now before oscar coaches them for a year and a half and they start to turn in to shitty basketball players. thanks for the numbers, dude.
-
Frank recruited 1 tool players and tried to cobble them together into a team. The only guy he recruited who could dribble, pass, shoot and rebound appears to have been Shane, and Shane couldn't do half of those things until oscar got here.
Franks recruiting and development of front court players was a fireable offense in and of itself.

Beasley, jamar,ck, JO all developed nicely with Frank. Maybe you are still upset about freddy asprilla and wally judge?

Huggs recruited beas and jamar, ck was a 5 star transfer, Jo was worthless outside of a few streaks of competence.
-
So even if you give frank credit for developing ck and pretend like JO wasnt a complete abortion most nights, that's two forwards in 5 years. Just pathetic
-
Frank's teams were fun to watch and there was actual excitement around the program that was gone for a long time. Regardless of the numbers for either coach.
Now... :dunno:
-
The basketball was ugly sometimes, but I always appreciated that Frank's teams played really hard consistently. And that ability to simply play hard won a lot of games.
-
If you like winning NCAA tournament games you probably liked Frank. If you like comparing shooting percentages you probably don't.
-
Guys, how many of franks first two games were losses?

WtF are you talking about?

All I know is that if Weber has a losing home record then he HAS to go. We haven't had a losing home record since 1946.
Not one losing record in Ahearn or home losing record in Bramlage.
13 different coaches managed to win.
If Weber manages to screw that up I don't care how good the numbers are or how many "moral victories" we get. I can't believe this is actually a concern.

Shane, he's a better passer than Angel.

Dax always manages to blow up his own arguments by saying outrageous stuff like this, because it totally derails the thread. There probably isn't anything that Shane is better at than Angel, and trying to make an argument that Shane is a better passer than the best distributor in K-State history is really unbelievable.

Better 3-point shooter than Angel. 43.6% to 34.4% last season.

Angel the shooting guard or Shane the point guard?

JO has the school record for blocks for fucks sake.
-
Seems to me it was oscar that made JO suck last year :dunno:
-
I am too, FWIW. Eff him for not getting along with his boss. Man up!
Very underrated post FWIW.
-
Look at the Frankites: Fighting, scratching, clawing, flailing and failing. It's like listening to the K-State Coaches Radio Show brought to by Ohse Meats. Featuring K-State Head Basketball Coach Dana Altman.
 . yet sad

I don't think its Frankites. I think its people calling you out for making a stupid comment
-
Oh, I see, a battle of opinions.
Shane with 8 assists against ORU tho.
-
so we are talking about shane the point guard then, not shane the power forward?
-
so we are talking about shane the point guard then, not shane the power forward?
So we're actually breaking this down by position, and not the actual ability to pass the ball then?
-
If we are only worried about good passing ability, the idea that the pass has to immediately result in a score to be a good pass is ridiculous, right? I mean, Gipson completes kick out passes successfully all the time. No love for Gip?

When Shane was a sophomore he shot .240 from behind the arc, so :dunno:

I wouldn't even say Shane is a good passer.
