Title: Hey, Haverhill!
Post by: Michiganisstillgood on November 01, 2013, 07:13:09 PM
I just realized we play you guys in a few weeks, how's your team looking this year? Do you still have a million transfers?

Do you think we'll beat you @ISU? I don't know crap about your team other than you lost to OSU in the tourney and blew that Kansas game last season. Do you still have the George guy who tries to put an "s" and the end of his name? What's his deal? Foreign? Stupid parents?

Thanks in advance.

Melvin Ejim is out until Mid-December so I'd give Michigan the nod. The game is in Hilton tho. Should be good.

Mitch McGary is likely out too, so there.

I'm really not sure what to expect from this years team, Robinson/Stauskas/McGary are nice pieces but how well do they play without Burke and. Hardaway creating for them? I don't know, good question.

We did bring in a couple of highly rated freshman, so we'll see, but I wouldn't expect them to see a ton of minutes that early in the season, especially on the road. Beilein typically likes to bring them along slowly, so you can expect tons of Spike Albrecht the "try hardiest" PG in the country, and slayer of superstar poon.

A back issue, I guess. It's apparently "not an injury" but they've held him out of practice until doctors can confirm it won't be something that lingers. He's supposed to get cleared for practice this week, but won't actually play in games until Duke in December.

I'm sure it'll be an ongoing thing all season that continually pisses me off and hurts the team.

He's our only big that's any good, though. Morgan/Horford are just big bodies who can occasionally grab some boards, but they're worthless on offense without Burke feeding them wide open dunks.

We'll play a small lineup against you guys, but that's always been Beilein's M.O. so it won't be something we're uncomfortable with. We're just a lot better with McGary and being able to mix in different lineups when it's appropriate.

ISU will be small as well. This will be two teams similar to Frank Haith's first team at Missouri... with better coaches than Frank Haith. First team to 100 wins?

Michigan is going to be a shadow of what it was last season.  Burke was the heart and soul of that team.  Now it doesn't have a soul and it's like they replaced the heart with a piece of turd (Albrecht and some freshman).  I heard McGary actually got caught shoplifting jewelry from a Kohl's and that all this back injury nonsense is just cover.  Trying to wait out if it hits the court system.  Beilein is desperately trying to make it go away, but he's pretty shitty at it.  Man they are going to drop.

Yeah, all of that is true. They've kept him out for months hoping against hope that a misdemeanor shoplifting charge doesn't appear. The DA normally sits on those for a long time. That all adds up.

We'll be lucky to make the tourney, but hopefully we can beat ISU, ya know?

The DA is being pressured by Beilein and the AD.  They're practically promising to blow him if he just makes it go away.  Like I said, Beilein is shitty at it.  It should already be a done deal, gone.  Word I'm hearing is he's mostly just creeping the DA out.  Like one minute he's promising all sorts of tickets and cash or even ladies they usually give the 'cruits and then the next he's begging and actually crying, talking about his life will be ruined and he'll get fired.  Just really weird, really ineffective stuff.  Amateur hour wacko is the itk bean.

This lines up with what I've been hearing as well.

It's weird, because most coaches would just suspend a guy for a game or two for the misdemeanor and then just move on. Instead he's going to hold him out for months of practice and games on the off chance the DA won't press misdemeanor charges.

Amateur hour indeed. I hope we fire Beilein immediately, he's the worst.

Yeah he's pretty old and obviously out of his depth running with the big dogs.  Mostly it's probably just the added stress of having Michigan basically at its basketball pinnacle and knowing the only way it can be done is to constantly cheat and lie, but you just know it's not sustainable at such a nowheresville of college hoops.  You can only win there by just cheating your balls right off your own body and on down the street if you catch my drift.  Takes a toll on a man, particularly a really old man.  He's probably going to die there.  From the stresses.  Meat chicken is a former football school and the sooner Beilein gets that through his head or dies the better everybody will be.  You have to be realistic about these things.

ISU just doesn't deserve Hoiberg. Sadly, I think he actually likes them.
We need something to save us from football.

True. Hang on to him as long as you can.

We're going to try super hard, he's a good one. I also think that he's rapidly becoming a better coach than Bill Self. I know I might be drinking  a lot of koolaid.

What does that mean?  Either he is or is not a better coach than Bill Self.  I'll let your endorphins reabsorb so you can clarify.

He's a better coach, if we had the same talent on our team that Self has, we would win 75% of the time against him.

I respect your right to hold that opinion, and obviously I'm biased so my disagreeing isn't much of a rebuttal.  But, your argument sounds like the world-class chef whose name would be held in high regard throughout the world if only he wasn't cooking fries at McDonalds.

Hoiberg is starting to gain more momentum in the recruiting world, I'm just saying that when he starts landing top ten talent year in and year out I think he will be the better coach. Yes Im a huge homer, but I truly believe this. And it's not just because we beat Michigan yesterday, it's from everything that I have ever seen him do. The man can't fail.

Hoiberg is a stud, but lets push the brakes a little bit on expectations, OKC.

I have no expectations, I just think he is a better coach (and smarter coach) than Self. I already admit to being quite the homer, but I've seen enough to know that he is a great coach.

How do you guys like Monte Morris? We recruited him heavily, offered him and Walton at the same time and basically said "whoever jumps first".

Didn't really notice him much Sunday, but they probably didn't want to take Kane off the floor too often.

He's a freshman, but so far he's been solid, he's going to be great down the road. He doesn't turn the ball over and you can tell he is a smart basketball player. I'm liking him so far!

Looks like Beeline couldn't make this one go away.  Color me unsurprised.  #smalltime

McGary uses drugs heavily, NCAA steps in finally and says he's out for the year since Meatchicken was apparently totally fine with his degenerate self-destruction.  McGary predictably leaves school instead and will never play in the NBA.  He's also pretty rough ridin' ugly.  Really rough ridin' ugly actually.

Outrage should be directed at the, dare I say, Draconian rule that caused this young scholar to drop out of school.

McGary is basically Blaster.  So I guess you're right.  Damn NCAA would never allow him to wear around a Master little person like he needs. :shakesfist:
