I've been using a girls razor lately with NO shaving cream.

I started using this after sitting in the steam room for 5-10 minutes.  Like a hot knife through butter.

I shave in the shower after being in there for a while(post shampoo).

At that point, you can go cream or no cream and get a really good shave easily with at decent razor.  I use the Hydro 3 or 4 blade(don't remember).  Cartridge lasts for ever and I never get burn or anything.

Also, I use a post shave lotion: (https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRV1fKWjucFyHPNQW2EpuuyOqAdoTOu8gi0xOsD2hAsJDMf44Oz) and this makes a huge diff for me.

What.  Why would he do that?  I mean, how much can you save on $14 razors that last a long time to make that worth while?

rinsing your blades in alcohol after use with prolong the life.   the corrosion of the blade from being wet is worse than the actualy use.

Same setup but with the sensitive skin kind.  The bottle has lasted at least four years, maybe longer.  Also, my razor is usually toast after one use.

You started all this with your post in the other buffalo thread when you said you were gonna register at bisonville and one of their lurkers over here beat you to the 'reputation thread" punch...

It's pretty clear that CAS#### would be happier at gopowercat.com just like onagacat and tmcats posted on bisonville, although I'm a little disappointed he's not done anything here yet to help clear the felonious linebacker's name for almost killing a helpless, drunk kid in the middle of the night.

Really?!?!? Some nitwit here starts the "Attention Bison Posters" (or something like that) thread with this post:

Quote
Just register and post you rough ridin' hillbillies...  Our community isn't a bunch of pussies and our mods don't make you wait for approval.

Guess what?  We also don't ban anybody.  What a novel concept, huh?

and I am called a bigot?!?!? I thought this was "big-boy" time.  Wow, what a bunch of effing pussies over here!!

You sound like a stupid hillbilly.

A stupid, homophobic hillbilly that races back to Bisonville to post all the threads from here because he's in over his head.

Actually, I could care less that your are gay!! To each there own, and sorry if I offended you-->well, not really, as I don't subscribe to the "school of thought" that is political correctness!!

At least the bigot admits he's a bigot.

 :opcat:

So, someone who doesn't subscribe to political correctness is a bigot?!?!?! Think for yourself, not what others force upon you or want you to-->DO YOU HAVE THAT (what should be innate) ABILITY?!?!

Wait, I forgot, this is Kansas!!

Perhaps you should look up the word bigot.  And hey, thanks for making me not the worst poster on goEMAW anymore.

I've never bought their razors, but do use their aftershave lotion called "Head Lube"...  I've just gotten so accustomed to shaving my head with a normal razor that I really have little/no desire to re-learn it with a little "race car razor thingy".

Instead of using after shave gel, you could just use hydrogen peroxide. It's way cheaper and does a better job.

So this is a selfish bump.  I recently started wet shaving and am looking for some advice and maybe to help spread the word to others that are interested.  I've always had issues shaving because I get really bad razor burn almost every time I shave.  This caused me to look for an alternative to cartridge shaving.   First off, this is the started kit I purchased.

I went with a Van Der Hagen shave set.  It is an inexpensive starter kit available pretty much nation wide.  It is currently being sold at both Target & Dillions in MHK.  I'm not sure if anyone else in town carries it or not.  The kit includes the mug, soap, stand, and brush.  I know That Target also offers the DE safety razor made by Van Der Hagen.  I choose to buy one online from Amazon made by a company named Lord.

I actually find now that I enjoy shaving.  I've made it part of my daily routine and use it as a bit of alone time.  Here is a quick lather I built this evening.  I worked on it a bit more after taking these pictures to get it correct.

The entire process takes about 20 minutes for me, but is worth the effort. Now when I finish shaving I have the closest shave I've ever felt, and no razor burn.

I'm happy to answer any questions anyone might have, and would really enjoy some advice from anyone who is experienced in wet shaving.
