nope, just no line released by Golden Nugget for that game. kind of strange.

only three KU and TT games were lined, lowest of any Big 12 team.

wvu was 117th in scoring defense last year. couple that with the fact that they are soft and are coached by a complete buffoon and i almost want to mortgage my house on that game. we will kill them just like last year.

Favored in 5 of the listed games....that's our 8 win season (assuming we sweep the non-con), with Tech being the difference between 9 and 8 wins.

You guys remember the good old days, when Snyder's teams would get BETTER as the season went along (e.g. May, Kavanaugh, Miller...)?

Waters could be deadly by, say second to last game of the regular season......and looky there.....OU favored by just 4 at KSU on the second to last game of the season.   :gocho:

i think kstate actually typically peaks around the middle of the season and then kind of wears down at the end of the season due to how ridic hard they practice but who knows. maybe that's just me.

This is approximate, and not perfect, but according to Golden Nugget in Vegas, the Big 12 pecking order goes something like this:

1. Texas
2. Oklahoma -0.5 points
3. Oklahoma State -1
4. Kansas State -6
5. TCU -6.5
6. Baylor -9
7. Texas Tech -11
8. West Virginia -12.5
9. Iowa State -16.5
10. Kansas -28

So, in simple terms, Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are virtually the same team. Texas and Oklahoma are maybe considered slightly better than Oklahoma State. Texas is about 6 points better than K-State; 9 points better than Baylor; 16.5 points better than Iowa State; and 28 points better than Kansas.

You can figure out the difference between each team by doing the math. (i.e., K-State is a half-point better than TCU; 3 points better than Baylor; 5 points better than Texas Tech).

Many of these lines are jokes. It goes without saying that the lines will change by the time the season rolls around, and certainly from week to week when games are actually played. But K-State, as usual, got the short end of the stick against the Big 12's "elite."

Texas and Oklahoma are not a touchdown better.

Agreed, they are a steaming pile but what I am saying is that they aren't going to be putting up the same scores given that what they had is most likely better than what they will have this season.

I agree with you. K-State should roll past West Virginia and will probably kick the tar out of every team it plays at home, and that includes Oklahoma, which shouldn't be favored. I'm pretty high on K-State's offense this year despite the QB change. I also think the non-con schedule is very favorable, and lines up similarly to what Oklahoma State had last year with a new QB.

The defense is an atrocity. I think it's going to be pretty rough and will again need to rely on being opportunistic, clamping down in the red zone, forcing turnovers, etc. By season's end, the D might make some strides - but I think K-State will have to outscore teams to win in September and October.

The swing game is Texas on Sept. 21. A win would put K-State at 4-0 with an extra week to prepare for Oklahoma State. I give the Cats a great chance to steal that game, improve to 5-0, and then you've got B2B2B home games.

I'm expecting K-State's season win total to be 7 or 7.5 and will cut in line to bet it over.

How's that for optimism?

Compared to the limits you'll find on game day, or the week leading up to a game, yes. But for a sportsbook to release 250 point spreads three months before the season, I'd say $1,000 limits are pretty damn respectable.

LHC Bill Snyder's ATS record vs. Kansas is 17-4, and K-State has covered the spread (almost exclusively as favorites) by an average of 19 points per game. Margin of victory the last three years is 164-44, an average score of 55-14.

I'll take K-State -17 today if you'll give it to me.

Do people really think ou is gonna be good this year? Sam Bradford isn't coming out of that tunnel. Their qb is a fullback
So, what, exactly, was Klein?

Collin could throw a lot better than people give him credit for, not 100% sure why you arguing this with your hfbiq. It's a down year for ou plain and simple

I'm arguing this because I think so highly of last year's offense strategy.  OU has the athletes, and the "fullback-ish" quarterback to make it work.  It might be a down year for OU, but i don't really see how anyone could write them off of being in the mix for the DP.

CK was a Heisman finalist and a total stud his junior year as well. Running an offense Snyder pretty much invented. You really think Bell has shown enough during his goal line PT to be CK next year, with Stoops completely changing his offense? None of that makes any sense to me. I'm more worried about one of OUs incoming QBs than I am about Stoops changing everything and turning the O over to Bell.

Well I guess we've reached the point in the discussion we're we'll just have to wait to find out.  If OU turns out to be dogshit this year, I'll happily eat my words because I think they'll be right in the mix for Stoops's 9th DP.

i feel like the OSU line should be bigger than the UT line.

We're gonna kill UT, again.

okie state and tcu are your most likely conf champs.  ut and ou will both be down this year.  people will say the conf is down because of it.

I would not be one bit surprised by it. Never doubt a 73 year old Scheme Doctor :bill: and his bag of tricks.

Hell, I remember him taking over RP's players in his first year back, and he rough ridin' nearly won the Big XII North, where everybody thought K-State was predicted anywhere from 3-9 to 4-8, last in the North. And then in 2010 where (I think if some, not all of RP's big JUCO year players finally graduated, and he still managed to pull in a 7-6 overall record, and the Pinstripe Bowl, where we got rough ridin' jobbed by one of the worst officiating games I ever seen.

Since then, boom, *claps hands* took off like a rough ridin' laser.

So, some people doubt K-State? I'll say this. Underestimate Scheme Doctor :bill: at your very own risk.

If we set the O/U at 8, who takes the under and who takes the over?
