Scalper tix for rounds 1 and 2 are easy to get

Our first day session will be much easier than the 3rd round session where it will likely be four very good fan bases battling for tickets. The best way was to get them for face value when I warned all of you a month and then again two weeks ago.

Um, I'm on the Ole MIss site...$80 gets you tickets...says you will only becharged for rd 3 if they advance...not sure if the $80 is just for round 2 session then?

So, basically the only way I'm screwed here is is Ole Miss beats Wiscy, and we lost to Boise...then I'm gonna get charged $80 for rd 3, and I''ll have to scalp em to some squaks...

Best case scenario is we win & Ole MIss wins, then I get tix to Sunday for $80...

I don't think donors are a factor...My order confirmation came through, didn't say it was contingent on anything...seats may get better/worse depending on donor purchases I guess, but it looks like I'm there for sure...  ****EDIT, I just saw the disclaimer on the initial page that the orders "may not fill"...deadline for donor orders is TUesday AM, so I guess we'll know by Wed.

Yes, the Ole Miss will call will be somewhere in downtown KC, all teams will have their individual will call. Sometimes I have seen the will call at the team hotel.

Also I wouldn't bet against Sprint Center and the NCAA still having seats. There were absolutely seats held for group sales. If they didn't sell out of the group sales allotment they will be released at some point during the week.

@DScottFritchen KState fans can buy $80 lower level tickets through Ole miss online right now.

Sam Byrd ?@SZByrd
@DScottFritchen I guess those Ole Miss tix are NOT guarenteed. Ole Miss donors have until Tuesday to buy also and then they notify you.

Quote
Sam Byrd ?@SZByrd
@bethy_brickell Wouldn't bother, just found out tickets are not guaranteed.  Didn't know this when I initially tweeted.

Nobody said they were guaranteed. You won't get charged if you don't get tickets. Best option right now until the BSU/LS winner.

I'm not because they showed me tickets available too right after(under 5 min) we were announced tried to buy and check out buyin just one and it said "tickets not available) even after showing sections available. Called the number on the website and they said they were currently sold out of tickets and I could try again Thursday to see if schools return tix

Maybe that's the case, but I sure didn't see any disclaimer stating that.  Below is the confirmation that I received.

My buddy who I use to work with in radio sales, just had his first baby last week. He called me yesterday, begging me to buy my tickets through him. I could tell he was in a pinch. So I confirmed a deal with him for two tickets, $165 total for Friday, Session 1, lower level. I wanted to take my new friend, so I was pretty excited. I called her yesterday to tell her the news and she couldn't stop thanking me. Three hours later, I get a text from my "buddy": "Sorry, guy. I sold your tickets to my brother-in-law. He gave me more. You'll be able to find something cheaper at Sprint Center anyways. Sorry, bud". Yeah, I look like a jackass now. I had to tell her this morning that the tickets aren't a for sure thing anymore and I'm still doing my best to buy some today.  :frown:

Well I didn't get lucky enough to get tickets through Ole Miss.  I'm not worried though, I wouldn't think the market for scalpers should be anything too outrageous.

BTW, will they be selling beer at the Sprint Center for the NCAA's? I noticed they didn't during the Big 12 tourney..

Tidbit on getting good tickets   Reply
I will not be attending the KC regional this weekend, as I will out of town in Dallas. However, my father and I have attended many regionals over the years (as both WSU and KSU fans) and I have a tip on how to get good tickets for you.  We have used this tip many times over the years. In fact, I am a bit hesitant to even share it, but I want KC packed with purple this week. Unless something has changed this year, the NCAA requires each team in the field to purchase a minimum of 500 tickets per school.  For a team like KU or KSU this is no big deal. Those schools have ticket demand way beyond that number and try to purchase as many tickets as possible to fill demand.  Unless you are big donor for KSU, you are going to get screwed on getting tickets. However, for a small school (the 15 or 16 seeds) this 500 ticket requirement can be a real financial burden to them. My father and I have landed some amazing tickets over the years by introducing ourselves to the athletic directors of these small schools and befriending them. A few kind words on the success of that small teams year to the AD goes a very long way.  For the KC group of teams, that will be WKU.  Perhaps WKU travels well and will have no trouble selling their 500 tickets. But if history is correct, it is unlikely that is the case. You often see those 15 or 16 seeds with very few fans behind their benches during their games. They just don't travel well.  Often times these schools have to eat the extra tickets they don't sell.  My suggestion would be to find out what is the team hotel for WVU, and ask to visit with the AD.  Tell them you are willing to buy two extra tickets off of them at face value. DO NOT get greedy on how many tickets you are trying to buy. If they think you are a scalper or are going to sell the tickets you are screwed. You then promise to sit in the seats, and will cheer for their team during the game.  Many times over the years, that has resulted in my dad and I getting tickets within the first six rows behind that teams bench.  We are often even given free t-shirts of that teams colors to wear during the game which we always wear. We have a great time with it, and their fans adopt us as their own for a few hours. We cheer like we have been lifelong fans of that team each time, and always high five the other fans after big baskets etc. The team we are always rooting for loses the game of course, but we have fun and just landed great seats for the day. After the game, you simply take off their t-shirt and put your purple t-shirt back and enjoy your great seats for the next game. These ADs often have tickets to all sessions by the way.  Making that AD your friend can lead to some great tickets for a day or two if you work it right.  Anyways, that is the trick we have done several times over the years. My dad is a real friendly and easy going guy, so it always works for us.  The key is to simply be nice.  Good luck to those who try it.

BTW, will they be selling beer at the Sprint Center for the NCAA's? I noticed they didn't during the Big 12 tourney..

important question

They don't sell beer to the general public at NCAA sanctioned events.

So was our game against UF not sanctioned?  I got pak'd in my seat.

I believe the actual terminology is "NCAA Championship events".

I don't why the Big 12 thinks it has to follow the NCAA's policy for the Big 12 tournament and the Big 12 FB championship game, I am pretty sure the majority of conference postseason tournaments and games sell beer to the public.

What skipper said. Events that the NCAA put on. They will have beer in the luxury boxes and at hospitality events, that's it. Have you guys never been to tournament games as a 21+?

BTW, will they be selling beer at the Sprint Center for the NCAA's? I noticed they didn't during the Big 12 tourney..

important question

They don't sell beer to the general public at NCAA sanctioned events.

So was our game against UF not sanctioned?  I got pak'd in my seat.
I believe the actual terminology is "NCAA Championship events".

I don't why the Big 12 thinks it has to follow the NCAA's policy for the Big 12 tournament and the Big 12 FB championship game, I am pretty sure the majority of conference postseason tournaments and games sell beer to the public.
as I said earlier... Baylor.

What are you talking about with Baylor? I hope you aren't insinuating that Baylor's view on alcohol is shaping conference policy on this subject, because you would be wrong. I can tell you for a fact that many Big 12 schools did not sell alcohol before during the Big 8. ADs and the CEOs of the conference don't want alcohol at their events because they don't want to deal with the liability issues that the NFL has to deal with. Colorado and West Virginia have decided that the increased revenue is worth the potential liability issues.

What skipper said. Events that the NCAA put on. They will have beer in the luxury boxes and at hospitality events, that's it. Have you guys never been to tournament games as a 21+?

Usually too pak'd to remember which ones sell beers and which ones don't.  think I remember that it is basically the Big 12 tourney and the NCAAs where they don't.  All others, they do.
