people still use mapquest?
-
:curse: only for demonstration on message boards.
-
Because it's really efficient if you want to post a succinct link?
-
Yeah, I'm never driving that far again in my life. If I move, I'm flying there and having my stuff shipped. Made a strong declaration during OKCPak that the 7 hours from Omaha to OKC was the furthest I would ever drive.

After 7 hours it is almost always cheaper to fly unless you live in Booneyville, MI population: Rusty

$550 flights to SLC at this point. Cheaper drive, if you were so inclined.
-
7+ hour drive someplace? I better be staying a week...
-
Horrible directions. Through Lincoln??? What about the 20 minutes you have to spend waiting for the train to pass in Marysville while you're scouting the tundra for black squirrels?
If the weather's good stay on 70 and then up through Price (best scenery, just about as fast). Otherwise cut up to Cheyenne from Denver.

Trains no longer a problem through Marysville, FWIW.

And whether or not you have friends. :fatty:

Would be sweet if :AA: got off its ass and offered direct flights Thursday-Sunday for $400 RT.

Not if you have a family in tow...

Know what? This thread taught me something. It taught me that Salt Lake City is actually north of Manhattan. Something I should've known a while ago but just never realized, I guess.

I-80 is way faster than I-70. It is more direct to SLC, the speed limit is 75 through Neb/Wyo and you don't have to deal with mountain driving like Colorado. I think that 14+ hours is a little underestimated, I think it's more like 18.

And also that there are now overpasses along US-77 and US-36 in Marysville.
-
Do they still have black squirrels or are they mulatto now? :embarrassed:

Driving through the mountains is the best part of that trip, Poonhound69.
