Guys, it's only been two weeks, but I've seen enough. Proof is in the pudding and here it goes:
1. K-State: They've looked like monsters early on. The boys look smooth on "O" and have kept the same intensity on "D". Should take this conference, it's Pretty pud right now.
2. Oklahoma State: Watch out! Smart is the real deal. Nice wins over Tennessee and a top ten team in North Carolina State. They have the talent to make a run this year.
3. Baylor: We know they always bring in the top talent, but how much will Scott Drew screw them this year? He already lost to Colorado. :sigh:
4. Iowa State: Guys, I know what you're thinking: "Are you serious Clark?" lol. But I have faith in Hoiberg. You know how many NBA contacts he has? Sheesh. He'll bring in the talent. Kinda puts Weis's Super Bowl rings to shame.
5. Kansas: Already lost to a team who had a loss (Michigan State) and needed a 2nd half rally to scrape by Chattanooga (woof!). Could be a long season for our friends down the road.
6. Oklahoma: Kruger comes back with confidence in year two. I think they make strides this year.
7. West Virginia: Already lost to Gonzaga, but Huggy will have them playing hard by the end of the year.
8. Texas: They'll need Kabongo back. They lost to Chaminade: :flush:
9. Texas Tech: Pud. They'll ride Josh Gray's coattails.
10. TCU: Super Pud. Welcome to the big 12, I mean amirite? lol
What do you guys think? Would you make any changes?
-
Kabunga isn't even that good, I'd drop Texas another spot.
-
Smart is gonna put the team on his back DO
-
I think you've nailed it, Fanning.
Also, the Big 12 seems to be pretty pud in basketball this year. Way moreso than in years past. Kansas State should win the conference easily. Just mho of course
-
How about your predictions for the all conference team Fanning?

How about your predictions for the all conference team Fanning?
Great question.
All Big 12:
Pierre Jackson, BAY
JO, KSU
McGruder, KSU
Nash, OSU
Smart, OSU
POY: McGruder
ROY: Smart

Looks about right. I think there's an obvious drop off between the top 4 and the bottom 6. Wish the league were more deep, but oh well
-
Already booked my flight for the FF

yeah, we'll definitely win the big 12. no question. will probably maul the competitions face/balls.

Holy crap is Texas garbage this year. Looks like RB's consecutive tourney streak is in jeopardy. Jeopardy guys, jeopardy. Self's plantation is looking at a down year for them. Apparently Huggins and coal aggie have decided to stop playing games after the zags broke their dicks off. Okie state is talented, but Ford is a poor man's Gundy. Same goes for Baylor times at least two. The mayor? Don't get me started. More like deputy sewer commissioner this year. Tcu? PeeCyew is more like it.
Confy is ripe for the picking, and if I know oscar, and I do, he brought his best fruit picking gloves and a big ol' basket.

Forgot a couple. Lon Kruger, Blake Griffin isn't walking through that door bud. Good news for the sooners is that the coach to follow krugs always succeeds in a pretty big way. Self, Donovan and Rice. Future 'grats dirt stealers.
TT? I don't even know anything about them other than pat knight was too good for them, and then they ran off Billy Clyde because they hate people with substance abuse problems. Have fun getting dry humped by tcu at the bottom of the pile.
CBB fever, catch it gE internet friends!

I see three similar things and one different one. Draw your own conclusions.

Similar, but even throwing out oscar's first 3 years he wasn't THAT bad.
.500ish in league isn't acceptable though and shouldn't be.
-
in terms of basketball coaching, oscar > altman
now, as it relates to social interaction, i'd have to call it a tie.

True.
Jim was by far the best bad coach socially.
-
yes, you could say Jim was the crème de la crème
-
I say we double whatever Wooly is making at Riverside and just have him do all media for us

I don't think we connected there. I was talking about Donovan, Self and Rice following immediately after Kruger and being more successful than he was at the schools in question (i.e., Florida, Illinois and UNLV) and the different one being whoever followed Kruger at KSU being the only one that evidently didn't do that. Point being that the dirt taker fans have reason for optimism post-Kruger.
Zero correlation to my main man oscar. Wasn't even on my mind. Stop trying to make everything about oscar _FAN. :shakesfist: Are you seeing this 'clams? Are you!? It really is happening the way you said it was.

Apologies for missing and making it about oscar.

So Lon is basically good luck Chuck?

So Lon is basically good luck Chuck?
Yeah.

Not in the NBA though. Let's be honest, trying to win with the Hawks is like trying to reanimate a dead body. This isn't Hollywood people. Not Lon's fault that they guy after him failed there too.

Jim was by far the best bad coach socially.
Whatever year it was that we got Fred Peete, I had like a 20 minute chat with him while he ate his salad in the union about our team right after school began. He was so pumped about Peete, really never met a nicer guy in my life. You know how Roy Williams always does that fake folksy 'aw shucks' BS? Jim was like that genuinely.

He had several Q&As in Aggieville after he was hired as well. I remember going to one at Rusty's. Sat up front at a stool with a mic and you could ask questions. It was nice.

Back to the fanning rankings...correct me if I'm wrong, but this will be the 1st time in the Big XII that a school has won conference titles in Football and Men's B-ball (regular season) in the same year, no? :ksu:

-
So close you guys! :D

Hard to argue that fanning isn't the smartest poster on this board.

Pop that collar if it isn't already popped, Fanning.
