It's now official.

It's now official.
If we pull our heads out of our asses and win the last 2 I think this season wins.

No. Our five best teams, from best to worst, are:
2012
2011
2003
2002
1998

Not even.
-
Yep and it's not close. 98 would have destroyed this team.

Sure but that does not make them better.

98's D had more talent but a week ago I gave 12 the nod due to Klein and AB's steady leadership and the offensive efficiency.
Now I have to lean to 98 because of Bishop's dynamic playmaking. He makes a least 3 or 4 spectacular runs or throws on broken plays tonight IMO

disagree. We just lost to a terrible Baylor team, in case you didn't know

The Baylor team we just lost to is better than any team the '98 squad faced all season.

I would argue that this Baylor team is better than pursue and A&M in 98
-
We played as sloppy as the 1998 team did and we lost just like them.
How does this make 1998 better?

98 ATM only lost @FSU, a close one to UT when Ricky went wild and OSU in Sugar - they were pretty salty
-
2002
2002 was pretty ridic. rough ridin' CU and Texas.

We also beat an elite OU team in Norman and are 10-1 against what is by far the most challenging schedule any Kansas State team has ever faced.

'98.
I'd stick by my comments of the '98 team would kill '12

The '98 defense would give an offense like '12 KSU some serious problems, but they would have given up 50 points to West Virginia, OU, Baylor, and OSU. Head to head, they would have a puncher's chance, but if you are going to run them against this team's schedule, they probably struggle to find bowl eligibility.

This is correct Winters. The talent on that D was staggering, especially against the run.
-
10 penalties and 3 turnovers was the norm for '98 and the usually prevailed.

They were not built to face the offenses of the '12 Big 12. The spread would eat them alive.
-
might as well compare the 2012 team to the 1936 Big 6 title team. Completely different games.

Yeah, this is just like tucks comparing KSU players from the black and white tv era to Michael Beasley.

The defense of '12 wouldn't be able to stop the offenses of '98 then.

This is true, they were physical and mental freaks assembled to beat NU and CU's insanely powerful running games.
What a team like KSU needs is a Nick Fairley type of D tackle that cannot be schemed around. It would of be best if AB had been a 290 lb freak DT instead of a great LB that teams can avoid
-
'98 pass defense was really bad.

They would handle that offense just fine. The '98 offense was way ahead of its time, which is really why that team did as well as it did. Snyder is a football genius. It's just too bad he can't handle success.

Mich is on fire tonight.

Gonna sit back and watch older fans fight back and forth

'98 pass defense was really bad.
Great point. The 2012 pass defense is just lighting them up! :jerk:
-
I think our '98 defense would be about as good as the Phil Bennett led Baylor Bears have been this season.
-
true, but they are playing against much better passing attacks

:sdeek: yo ass is crazy
-
1997,99 and 00 were all better than 2011
-
98 team for sure. michael bishop was just on another level. he was so dynamic. and the 98 defense would match up well with our 12 offense.
-
The real test will be how this team handles the loss. We know how the '98 team handled it and it wasn't pretty. If this team shows some maturity and deals with the loss in the appropiate manner they have the clear edge. If they fall apart like '98 I call it a wash.
-
I think a lot of people here are confusing best season to be a fan with best team. There aren't honestly people here who believe any team from 1998 could beat a ranked team from 2012, are there?
