Look, we can sit around and make words up all day long, but what I am saying is that with 45-48 points per game being scored in our basketball contests you won't even be thinking about football.

Blessed.

ahh yes.  sitting at 4-0, ranked #7, biggest win for the program in almost 10 years, and expectations to destroy our rival by 5 TD minimum in about 9 days.  ...and starting to worry about 2013?  enjoy the now - it's far better than we've had any reasonable right to expect.9/27 12:15 PM | IP: Logged

I understand that everyone is curious and we're all jonesin' to see his arm, but I'm not going to worry about it. Heck, it's very possible the world could end right after we win the national championship this year! We can only hope we win it BIG and LBHS was able to put Sams in and let him fire off a couple cannons to answer the unswered questions!

I say relax and do it Bill's way! He's earned that from us too! Just take it a game at a time with the team! Let the old man keep a few mysteries in the papers clinched in his fist! After all... he has everything else fine tuned down to remote control. Driving us nuts with the little "intrinic" things he has yet to unwrap for us has to be some of the only REAL fun he has! :-)  9/27 12:40 PM | IP: Logged

I wouldn't be surprised if the staff tries to move Kent Gainous up to Will, he's huge and appears to have a good frame to put on size. Also Mike Moore needs to play the Mike for us, we need his athleticism and the staff has said good things about him. Slaughter playing scares me.

Big hit to D-Line and we are losing Brown

Should be as good or better along the interior DL next season.  A nucleus of Britz (proving to be a very good true freshman), Hood (it's reported the coaching staff really likes him), Akinola, and Chaqil Reed.  Plus, any jucos that will be added and, at present, we seem to have the attention of some good ones.  Seem to be in a good position with Marquel Combs (visits Dec. 1).

As for DE.  Return Mueller, Finau, and Bryant.  May have a true freshman capable of playing next season in Jordan Willis, a 6'5 250lb pass rushing specialist out of Rockhurst.  Tanner Wood is another DE commit.  Plus, there appears to be an outside shot at 4 star Lee's Summit West 6'4 255lb Jamone Boyd.  Boyd is cooling on the idea of Arkansas and Mizzou.  A few more pathetic outings by Nebraska (likely the school to beat for him at the moment) and we might be well in the hunt.  Look to be in good position with juco DEs Chris Martin (CCSF and former 5 star prep DE prospect compared to Julius Peppers) and Devon Nash (we appear to be his favorite at the moment).  The Southern schools appear to be cooling a bit on Marcus Hardison (Dodge City) as well.

I'm probably one of the few who LIKES where we're headed on the defensive line.  Keep winning and some of these guys will be added.

As for replacing the LBs?  Tuggle played QB last year and Childs played RB a few years ago.  We have guys on the current roster in Torrell Miller and Kyle Klein who look like they might be candidates to slide over and play well at Sam.  Seem to be in good standing with some juco LBs as well.  Both Hutch LB Antonio Longino and current KU commit Marcus Jenkins-Moore visit in December and the two Butler LBs, Tommy Sanders and Rahmon Swain would like to visit KSU.

Just keep winning...

Does Morgan Burns end up playing on defense this year? I would imagine the staff wouldn't burn his redshirt just for special teams this year. It is logical to assume the staff would be under the impression that Burns would end up play a significant role later one in the season.  :dunno:

I'm not worried about the defense at all. They're only going to need to make 1, maybe 2 stops a game because our offense will be unstoppable.

anything in bold I am not worried about

Offense:
qb - #life
rb - hubesy
wr - tiny little baby lockett
wr - thompson
wr - sexton or klein or miller OR fb - gronk? anyone know if he's good?
te - trujillo or mcdonald or both
ot - lucas
og - whitehair
c - finney
og - stiverson or taylor
ot - rooks

Defense:
de - finau ?
dt - britz
dt - could be anyone of a ton of guys who may or may not suck ??
de - mueller ? can he play every down? if not, who?
lb - walker
lb - moore ?
lb - slaughter ? truman ?
cb - miles ?
cb - evans? daily?
s - zim
s - fergy get a med red??? gainous?

I agree with this, however based on what I’ve seen so far, I would tend to lean towards bolding Finau and Britz.  Or maybe put them Italics for that feeling where you’re not worried but not excited or something.   I might put Walker in this category as well instead of bold.

yeah, walker has not impressed this year. kinda disappointing. I'm gunshy about getting confidence in defensive linemen, especially young DTs.

If we get the 2 LB's from Butler, bold the whole LB corp and call it a day.

you cannot put hood in there as bold. too many DTs come in we think will be good and end up being garbage or never playing or leaving or flunking out of school

to javonta boyd's credit he is doing his best to shed himself of that stereotype this year

From what I have heard about Moore, he would be at least a better option than Slaughter...

Don't know much about Truman except for that he was decent (maybe an 84 overall) by his senior year in EA Sports NCAA Football 12.

I'm preemptively angry at EA Sports because I know next year they will have #life at mid-70s overall :curse:

This year Lockett is like a 67 overall.  What the eff, EA Sports :chainsaw:

steve dave, are you stating that you are disappointed in Walker's play because somebody who didn't know any better mentioned that on another message board or because his number hasn't been called as frequently?

I actually like Walker's play this year.  He looks more confident in his decisions playing in space in the pass defense and is more physical taking on blocks.  Part of the reason his name isn't called as much might have to do with our defensive line being more active this year.  They are making more plays in, around, and behind the LOS then they have since Snyder's returned.  Part of that has to do w/ Tuggle's inclusion in the long distance situations but we have guys up front who are getting off blocks with regularity.  It is a far cry from two years ago when our defensive front looked glued, tarred, and stapled to offensive lineman.

I haven't seen anyone on another board mention him so, no, it was just my watching him this year. hasn't seemed disruptive to me. still not trusted in passing downs. he doesn't seem to be very involved. he's fine, I was just hoping for a bigger improvement over last season.

Some guy that wears number seven looks impressive on the sidelines and perhaps during some mop up special teams time.  no idea who he is though.

Conceal All Injuries
Steal Iowa's Logo
Copy Uniforms from America's Team
Keep Texas in the Conference
Watch More Video Tape

Every Sunday I daydream about watching Arthur play for some NFL team next year. And especially when they introduce each player like on MNF. Can't wait for him to say in his deepest, most intimidating voice, "Arthur Brown Jr, Kansas State"
