If we have a big first half, and Bill doesn't bench Sams quickly enough, we might break 80.

Bill won't let that happen. Anything above the 60's is not in keeping with being a good sport.
How were we running it up? We played our second string QB the entire second half, didn't pass once, and never snapped the ball with more than 10 seconds on the play clock. It's not our fault Sams had 300 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Why not just start Sams. :dunno:
Watched the KSU-OU game with a hard core Jayhawk.
He was not as happy as he should have been.
Trying to remember the Mangino interview when he was on Snyder's staff, but basically said that when the team is practicing before the ku game, Snyder is actually practicing schemes, plays, etc. for the game after ku, but LHCBS is telling the team they're practicing for the ku game.

Well, I think that's a bunch of bull$hit. Because during the majority of the time that Mangino was on the staff, the K-State vs ku game was extremely competitive. It took Snyder 7 tries to beat ku really bad and that was with K-State coming off a throttling in Lincoln. Snyder lost to ku 3 times in his first 4 games against them, and while everyone rubbed one out when we beat them in Lawrence in '94 for the first time in forever . . . and despite K-State dominating the game, ku had a chance to make it interesting but they dropped an easy pick 6. ku came into Manhattan in '95 ranked in the Top 15. Maybe by the Terry Allen era that was the case because we were overwhelming in terms of our firepower.
Make fun of Weis all you want, but he's not Terry Allen or Turner Gill, and despite everybody high fiving and giving each other reach arounds about Saturday night, that still ain't the Lynch Mob we're putting out there on defense.
Why not just start Sams. :dunno:
I saw we flip the score at half like the spring game, as to motivate our players in the 2nd half to get a little bit better.:surprised:
This D is better than the lynch mob. It's just that offenses are so much better now than 10-15 years ago. It's like the Dream Team thing basically.
When the Lynch Mob was at their best, we let #11 Nebraska score 30 on us in Manhattan. We held #6 Oklahoma to 19 in Norman.
C'mon dax, the Lynch Mob is back.

First off, there will never be a real Lynch Mob again because offenses are different, and people also forget that the Lynch Mob was exposed multiple times back then. OU also fumbled on the 1 yard line . . . this defense is similar to what Snyder played when he first got to K-State, try to get the right people on the field, bend and don't break, try and create turnovers. But they aren't going to shut anyone down . . . there were a couple of times back then when we held conference teams to less than 150 yards for the whole game. Everybody would be giving each other handjobs if this defense could pull that off for one half against a conference team.

:jerk:
Unbelievable amount of KU tuck fans have approached me (when I am wearing emaw gear) since Saturday night saying "Boy what a great victory this weekend for you guys! I have been a KU basketball fan for a long time, not football though, and boy it's great to watch Snyder's teams compete. I root for K-State in football all the time."
I mean this is nothing new, but it seems they are becoming more and more open about it, and delusional about how mumped up it is to literally ignore your team's football program because it is so awful.

Pete,
while I appreciate your Expectation to Win (Goal #13) and Enthusiasm (Goal #8), you need to show more Self Discipline (Goal #6) and provide some Leadership (Goal #15) and remember that part of Consistency (Goal #14) is taking it one game at a time. Just keep sawing wood.
Thanks,
Catzacker

For the younger guys on the board, this is how it's done.
True Story:
In 2004, when we lost to KU for the first time in 13 years in football, I was with Catzacker in Lawrence at the game. At the end of the game, he just looks over at me and says "Well, Jim Wooldridge just got fired."
He was essentially correct...the fan base immediately turned it sights to basketball, and became enraged at the idea (overnight) of not being competitive in basketball...AND Tim Weiser TRIED to fire Wooly that Spring, but Weefs stepped in and prevented it. A year later, he was fired.
klein should play the whole first quarter and then sit his ass down and let us live #life
If I were on the team, I'd be out in Aggieville til 3 AM getting hammered the night before.

I may drive to town and open a tab for players at Kites. Just for the players over 21, though!
KU is officially the only team in the big 12 that DOESN'T scare me :ohno:

I was there too. It was a feeling like nothing I'd ever experienced. I was literally sick to my stomach watching their celebration. I was in a sickening, bizarre daze. Just a terrible feeling.
Thx. for opening up to us about the horrid game. I was there too. :bawl:True Story:

Was also there. Can confirm that on the way back to the car I had to stop and sneak into a random backyard so I could cry like a bitch for 10-18 minutes.
Should we all bet our immortal souls on this game? Maybe the eyes of our children?
What would be a big enough bet when you are 100% sure you are going to win a game?

Brainstorming idea:
Rent an airplane, and fly a banner around the practice field tomorrow that reads "You will easily beat KU." Thoughts?

Maybe this:
"You have four full weeks to prepare for a team that just gave up 63 points. No excuses."
