Why is IU such garbage and why did they let that guy eff all those little boys?
-
Is it true the only good thing to come out of Champaign, IL is the mid-90s space-rock band Hum?
-
Take your coach back! :shakesfist:
-
Why do your faces look so much like your butts?
-
You guys are good. I am humbled.
I don't like that song kim carnes sings, hows that.
And I hate weber. So, can I join the club?

Who do you trust more, Groce or Beckman?
-
Were you team #burnitdown at Illinois? How long did it take for your efforts to work? Did you guys have lots of zeal towards your #burnitdown efforts?
-
The eff is wrong with Weber's voice?
-
Groce will have to overcome weber's last 6 years--which were the 11th worst 6 year period in Illinois history, out of 102 6 year periods.
But I think he can do it.

I work alone.
-
The eff is wrong with Weber's voice?
Why stop there?
-
Why was Weber's whole family at his crap canning press conference? Why did you dumbasses put up with Weber for so long without organizing largescale riots? Why does everyone try to kill each other in Chicago? TIA
-

why did you pick 6 years you asshat, what about his full body of work, plus he went to a national championship as you conveniently leave out.
-
Because it's the smart thing to do? Seeing as how he didn't have anything to do with putting those first 3 teams together? And because the last 6 years were teams he built?
Oh, I made a mistake. That was for conference play. Overall, the last 6 years under weber was the 80th worst 6 year period out of 102 6 year periods. That's bottom fifth.

Some tried. We had an evil AD.

Fat Sandwich or Geo's?
(easy choice)

It appears to me you are just picking and choosing stats to validate your own opinions, fact is no one speaks poorly of oscar in any coaching circles, He has over 300 wins and way over .500 winning percentage all time.

I am just glad we don't have this looser on are staff.

think of it like a boxcar average...

None of the Illinois fans I engaged in Chicago remembered/knew who the eff Weber was.
-
I dont think there are any Illini fans in Chicago, they are all Iowa/ND/Wisconsin/Purdue/Mich St fans. The only people who go to UofI are hayseeds from Springfield/Quincy/Danville. That and asians, lots and lots of asians.
-
We saw tons of EMAW outside of the goEMAW affiliated in wrigleyville.

Wetwillie, just stop it. It is not arbitrary to look at Webers time with his own players. His first three seasons he started almost exclusively Bill Self recruits. Weber was absolutely horrible with his own players. We won 3 of 6 conference titles before he showed up and once he got his players on campus we missed the tourney 3 out of 6 times and never contended for a conference title.
People get fixated on Weber's title game appearance and just cant see him for what he is, which is an awkward dork who is overmatched as a head coach and should be doing something else with his life.
The bottom line is it is not much fun delluding yourself into thinking Weber is an ok basketball coach. I tried that for a few years. It is awful. You begin living a lie. Then you lose to Bradley and UIC and the depressing reality hits. Im not saying you shouldnt cheer for K State, but if you start believing this guy is anything but a schlub you are doing K State a disservice. You are enabling the destroyer of programs. Just wait until he starts talking about how hard it is to make the NCAAS and how that is an unrealistic expectation for your program.
Good luck though and Go EMAW (especially in football).

will be great to hear next year how young we are. I imagine it will sound the same as when frank said it, only in a higher pitched voice and less "ya knows".

Good to know the Men in Black will erase our memories of Weber when he is gone.
-
Good morning. I had to spend some of the morning chewing out a Scout board poster who claimed he was happy Self left.
Now, getting back to weber, all I'm doing is warning that it will probably be painful once weber gets his own guys in here. But you guys are funny and tough. That'll get you through this.
I noticed that weber has already laid the groundwork to blame offensive shortcomings on Martin. I did some research in case I needed to back up a claim of mine that Wisconsin's offense under Ryan was pretty solid, if boring. So I was looking at Kenpom's efficiency ratings. Well one thing lead to another and I also looked at our (Illini) offensive eff ratings under weber and now I looked at KSU's offensive ratings under Martin.
Here's what I found:
Offensive Efficiency Rank Illini KSU
2006-2007 111 71
2007-2008 83 20
2008-2009 98 65
2009-2010 65 13
2010-1011 33 47
2011-2012 126 53
Okay, Martin didn't coach the 2006-2007 team. But I think you get the drift. The only reason for weber to point out that KSU needs to improve offensively is to have a fall back in case your team performs like a weber-coached offense. I will say weber's pretty good at covering his shortcomings before hand.
You got to know your enemy, so I hope this helps. Remember, we Illini fans have been through this and we're on your side.

Illini fans are just mad.
Demographically/Strategically/Politcially (only major D1 institution in Illinois) . . . they are in the top 3 of college athletics underachievers, right next to their cross state butt buddies . . . MethU

not on the weber bandwagon by any means, but remember when looking at those off eff ratings that it's the big 10. first team to break 40 wins.

oscar is gonna rape your men's basketball offense so damn hard. Just force himself all over it in so many different ways. Then your men's basketball offense is going to end up sitting in the shower with all its clothes on, water running just holding itself and rocking back and forth. Might not ever be the same. oscar'll go right on just a grinnin' and aw-shucksin' and being a multi-millionaire right in your face after it happens too. And deep down you're going to be so righteously pissed about it, but all you'll do is just lay there and take it. Take it any which way oscar wants to give it to you, because you can't do a damn thing about it. "Thank you, oscar. May I have another?" says Dax. You go on pretending like it's what you want there Daxie. oscar'll appreciate that. Might throw up an add in the local paper after he walks off into the sunset, like leaving a quarter on the dresser of some whore after he walks out of the room.

7 teams in last years top 22 offensive efficiency ratings came from the big 10.

Must be typo if oscar was way shittier than Frank, AND played in a very efficient league. Surely that cannot be correct, can it?
-
hey illini bad person, take your condescending crap to some other board. everyone here recognizes that weber is a shittier coach than martin. some people choose to support him anyways, based on party loyalty and a shared group identity. they're rough ridin' Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) nazis, but even they don't need your arrogant, stats-for-morons, humble elitist posts trying to educate us about basketball. so eff off.

fear of bruceketball making Wooly look like a good coach is expressing itself as butthurt today on goEMAW.

Unfortunately, it is, Pete. It kinda sucks, but numbers are numbers and oscar's numbers suck.

all roads on the basketball board lead to oscar vs Frank

This is not a time for jokes. oscar Weber is actually our basketball coach.

oscar Weber is the worst kind of hire for a fantastic, highly knowledgeable, often saracastic, but extremely loyal fan such as myself.
He's done really good things, he's done really bad things . . . thus the choice I have made is to wait and see what happens.
That said, we don't need fans of one of college athletics greatest underachivers as determined by the strategic/demographic/geographic formula spewing forth the same line over and over.
But, if they want to continue to do so . . . fine by me. Peace/Love/Dope and all that.

You shouldnt support him anyways. Support your school and team, sure, but never let the coach catch a break if it's not deserved. He is paid way too much money for that. Many Illini fans did the same thing. That is why it took 9 yrs to get rid of the guy. It literally took a year of booing him (at our own place mind you) to get the point across. You guys have a couple years before the wheels fall off and oscar gets his guys in here so at least you have something going for you lol.
-
jimmy, the school hired the coach. you can't support the school either. you have to get rid of the whole cancerous mass, otherwise it will just grow back.

personally, i support the players that weren't recruited by oscar and that means all of them, even though they probably like him a lot.
i forgive them for that and want them to win like no team has won before. i hate every player that is here because of oscar and i hope they fall flat on their face and lose thirty games after our current players are gone.
-
It's been a rough year for sys you guys. I wish he liked football so he could at least enjoy that.
