Perhaps. We do need a clean coach that runs a clean program and has a clean mouth. An up and comer in the coaching ranks, which may rule out McDermy. Also, by clean coach I mean a white guy.

I do not believe Currie would touch Pearl with a 10 foot pole right now, but it shows me that he knows his stuff with basketball.

Depends on who you're talking about. If it's baseless speculation on talk radio, it wouldn't concern me. If it's certain journalists with inside info, then I'd be concerned. Personally, I don't think Frank would be a good fit at Illinois, and my gut tells me that Illinois will go with someone like Shaka Smart.

Chicago has PLENTY of quality recruits, keeping them in-state (and eligible) is the issue.

Also remember that because of incentives reached Frank is due for a contract negotiation after the tournament concludes. If they don't reach an agreement by the end of May Frank's buyout goes from $1 million to $500,000.
