Is it common for the AD of a school to shake the refs hands on their way off the court?

Seemed very impartial.  No calls made against Kansas in that segment.

He's a snake and I can't stand to look at him. Glad we won't have to after this year. He's so bitter that KU won't promise to play them.  At lwast when they come to the phog, none of our fans will throw crap on the court. Probably was a walnut bowl anyways! rolleyes

Wow.  Did Alden hand shake an envelope full of cash to the first ref?  MVP's for mizzou were the 3 refs.

The refs in that game were just overcompensating in calling it for Missouri so that they could be politically correct. Not surprising due to the expectation that Missouri is going to be on the wrong end of the officiating in their final year in the Big 12.

Yes it was a tough loss but unfortunately the last few plays didn't work and yes the calls were 50-50 and could have gone both ways. As you know Taylor makes great plays and sometimes bungles them. Let me say this
Haith did a job talking to the refs that maybe had an effect like the Coach K does.

Funny how in KU fans blaming the refs for the loss, they don't mind the fact that TRob should have gotten a technical when he flexed and yelled directly at Ratliff "I'm the rough ridin' man".

Even this morning KU fans still blame loss on the ref.  Embarassing.

Whoah, man.  It's tough to make out, but you can clearly see a small envelope changing hands when Alden is hugging that official.

If I were a KU fan I would be pretty upset right now.  Getting jobbed by the refs is one thing and now this!  Really feel for those guys...

You know, I've been saying it for years, but something needs to be done with the officials in this league.  Missouri finally had enough and now is leaving for the SEC where the officials are a lot better.  Poor KU is still stuck with these guys.

It's just too bad this great rivalry had to come to an end like this.

I can't believe I'll never get to see KU/MU at Mizzou Arena again!  It's bullshit to lose one of the greatest rivalries ever, a true crime where the victims are innocent sports fans world wide.

Seriously, wtf is up with the refs shaking hands with the Mizery athletic director?

Quote
It's a little weird to have the AD just stand there and wait for the officials. I don't think I've ever seen that.

Quote
Yeah, I wonder if it is common for the home team's AD to address the officials like that after a game. It just seems odd to me, especially considering the impact the refs had on the end of the game.

Quote
conspiracy theory.....the way that game ended certainly makes one think it might be a possibility...

Quote
Whatare those ref's names? We should see to it they never work in AFH.

Quote
I think it's odd the AD, if that's who he was....wasn't on the second row behind the table officials watching his top 5 team play in a prime time game.?

Quote
This wasn't even the B team officiating crew for the Big XII. I've not seen any of these guys this year. Why the Big XII had the 3rd or lower officiating crew at the biggest game in conference this year...I have no idea. It flat boggles the mind.

Quote
It did seem like they got caught up in the atmosphere. The were practically jumping around when they called the last 2 charges. Almost like they were anticipating the eruption from the crowd.

Quote
Kansas did not get a single 50-50 when it mattered. And yeah--they should investigate wtf was going on there. The game of basketball is worthless if you allow a 1972 Munich feel to the officiating. This was gift number two to Missouri in a week. Anyone else wondering WTF? The officiating has sucked all year in the Big XII.

Charges are ruining the game, its not just a phog talking point.

Don't rough ridin' run into defenders?  Is over the back ruining the game too?

Possibly. We can't tell until a clearly inferior team has the audacity to beat KU and then we'll identify and examine the de facto flaws in the system that the opponent exploited so dishonorably to achieve a conclusively unfair and inaccurate result.

To start just remember the basic law of thermodynamics we're working from: KU basketball team (uKb) action will remain at victory (v) unless acted upon by an exterior or aberrational force (3![NCAA]->E/x) = real basketball (ReBa)

So if you draw that equation up and plug in another team and the UKb value is corrupted, then clearly you need to solve for x using information from the observed system before you can resolve the equation to get ReBa.

It was this method that has so reliably targeted the 3-pt line, the expanded NCAA bracket, the new elbow rule, and now charge calls as clear, existing threats to "real basketball"

I don't think Misery is that good after watching them tonight

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They have beat some mediocre teams.  They haven't played any really tough teams like Kentucky.  They almost lost tonight, even though they were supposed to beat Oklahoma easily, and even after Oklahoma missed all those free throws they STILL almost beat them.  They almost lost to us AT HOME.  They lost to Oklahoma State and K-State.  Two of our losses were Kentucky and Duke.  Yeah, Davidson was a fluke - maybe like Oklahoma State for them?

But after watching them play, I am not seeing that they are so great.  If they were as great as they think they are, they wouldn't be BARELY holding onto a win every time.  So far they've just been lucky.  I predict their luck is about to run out.

I've always been taught that the best way to get to bonus is to be able throw the ball inside and have a low post presence or drive the ball, and you know we're pretty good at both and we can't get people to foul us. Even when we play at home opponents are shooting more free throws. I don't want to back off what we do defensively. That's not who we are, but certainly we gotta do something to address whatever our shortcomings are because, you know, we're not getting any free points at all
