I think we will be fine.  Some of the contributing parts have/will change, but we will be fine.  Tourney team.

I'm not saying we won't, it just there seems to be a lot of potential for a complete nosedive to end the season with this team.  I'd have as about a 5-6 seed right now which is fine with me if we could end up there.

yeah, it is really amazing that we are in pretty good position to pull this off.   I mean, a 5 seed could get us Omaha and only has to beat one decent team to get to the sweet 16  :driving:

Also, @OU is not a bad loss - if they hold on against ATM on sat they would clearly be in the field.  B12 is going to get 5 for sure and 6 is not impossible

Yes, Frank Martin rosters have regular attrition.

But Frank Martin rosters haven't regularly lost 1st Team All Big 12 players and POY candidates every year.

That's why I'd equate this year to 08-09 season; maybe "rebuilding" is too strong, but its at least a year where there were plenty of question marks going into the season.

You retards, we are in the top 25 after a stretch of 3 teams who are currently in the top 6. We'll also have 3 weeks at the end of conference play with a lot of winnable games so that if we go 1-2 in that stretch the second time, we'll have plenty of time to get back into the top 25. We'll be in the tournament with ease.

Quote
Big 12 (8): As if perennial kingpin Kansas needed the assist, it has played the 10th-toughest schedule out of 10. The Jayhawks (7-0) have played five at home and two on the road, visiting relative lightweights Oklahoma and Texas Tech. They received another assist Monday night, when Texas A&M’s Khris Middleton was injured before the game and guard Dash Harris was injured during it.

Toughest Big 12 schedule to date: Kansas State, which is 3-3 and in fifth place. The Wildcats still have six games left against the four schools considered the weakest in the league (Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma).

Maybe skewed cause we beat them so bad, but I'd be surprised if Mizzou is a 1 or 2 seed come tourney time.  I think they are good, but they will lose some games down the stretch where they don't shoot the ball well or Ratliffe and Moore get in foul trouble against a good offensive post.

I think that by the end of the season one of ku/baylor/mizzou turns out to be a complete fraud.

Most to least likely:
1) BU - The most overall talent, but still coached by Drew. The anomoly of the season so far is probably how they played in Manhattan.
2) MU - I still find it hard to believe they are where they are. Ridiculously good offense and good enough defense. Haith has gotten amazing buy in for a first year guy. Could be the ultimate proof that college basketball can be a guard's game.
3) KU - Self is Self (really good). Still have really good players, though maybe not the overall depth of their recent teams. Even when they play poorly they find ways to win. Huge key IMHO is that Withey has become Aldrich-like on defense.

complete fraud is ridiculous though.  we're 6-7 games into the conference season and none of those teams have more than 3 losses.  they aren't frauds.

True. I suppose I was more picking who would be most likely to end up finishing outside of the top 3 spots in the league.
