Would be interesting to see it "played out on the field".  :dunno:

I dunno... I hear Eastern Kentucky is pretty legit this year, aren't they?  A not bowl eligible Miami is pretty scary, too!

Nope, denied! Miami was bowl eligible, but decided not to play because of the tampered recruiting alligations!

Negative, batman.  They are 6-6 but not bowl eligible.  That's because 1 of those wins was against Bethune Cookman.  They could have been extended a bowl invitation, but never before a team who had a winning record against FBS schools.  (so basically they had no chance of going to a bowl).

One win can be against an FCS school that counts towards the six

Bylaw 30.9.2.1.a
Quote
Teams with .500 records (i.e. 6–6) can earn bowl bids if all other FBS teams with winning records have been taken and postseason spots still remain vacant. In thirteen-game seasons (used because of conference championship games, or allowable for Hawai?i and any of its home opponents in a given season), a team must win seven games.[3] Teams with FBS wins of 6 or more have prioritized selection over teams with FCS wins.

So, for Miami to have gotten a bowl bid... they would have

a. had to have been selected after all other 7 win teams.
b. have been selected over any team that had a better FBS record than them

Calling Miami "bowl elibible" is laughable, VERY.

Was Miami eligible for a bowl?

Yes.

Which means they are bowl eligible, no matter the probability of them actually going to a bowl.

Pretty simple stuff here, pig rough rider.

guys this thread isn't about if miami is bowl eligible, it's about whether or not Arkansas would beat Sam Houston State.  (personally i think Arkansas would win (close game pull away in the 4th quarter 34-24 something like that))

Idk about Sam Houston, but I think Mississippi Bible Tech has a pretty good shot at Arkansas. I mean hell, it would be a great match up none the less.
