Who do we have redshirt/greyshirting that will have an impact next year? Sam Harvil- is he still around? Ian Seau? Anyone know who is tearing up the scout team?

So whats the deal with DeMarcus Robinson? wasn't he some kinda 4 star stud or something?
just trying to figure out when we can expect to see a running back that knows how to hit a hole and run downhill instead of stuttering around the line of scrimmage till they get plowed like "insert all our RBs here"
-

Hubert isn't nearly as bad as you are making him out to be. I'm sure your complaint is based on some of the outside zone runs and stretch reads where Hubert stays outside, but its likely he's actually taught to be patient in those situations. That's what you do on outside zone blocking schemes as a back. But when Hubert is asked to run inside zone or power lead, he does a good job of running downhill. The problem is he is small; a 180# back can only do so much between the tackles. This is where we are really lacking a bigger back (like Pease or Brown) to use in inside zone/power situations. Hubert makes the most of what he has; he's got decent speed and explosiveness, but he isn't going to make a ton of plays on his own, plus he's been really banged up the last couple of weeks along with Klein.

Noted. So when can we expect to see them put Pease in on power runs so we actually have some power? Guess you cant blame Hubert for being small. I'm just a fan of a good power run to abuse the other team and hate to see Klein get his head smashed in because he's the only guy we have that can run with any authority

I've been wondering the same thing all season. Pease was dinged pretty good early in the season, so its possible that is why he has been limited to only Wildcat runs. For next year addressing this need in recruiting should be an area of emphasis or finding a way to get Pease more involved in the power running game. (or getting Brown back on board)

Sorry guys I was looking for some more insidery info on this stuff. Any insidery guys want to comment?
One of my former roommates is a manager:
1. Daniel Sams is amazing. Literally will be fighting hard for the starting position next year and is already second string this year.
2. Bryce Brown is absolutely "planning" on coming back next year.
3. Kyle Klein is as fast is his bro.
4. Chris Harper is really good looking and funny.
5. Team is really close; good overall unity ATM.
6. Says Sexton could be back for the bowl game, which means he won't be.
-
1. Sams....... already second string this year.
nope

I can see how Sams maybe would have had the redshirt pulled if Klein got hurt in like week 6, but there is no way he is second string now. If all our other quarterbacks died against ISU I think we'd force Pease or anyone else to play QB before we'd burn Sams' shirt.

It sounds like Ryan Mueller might be taking E. Lamur's spot (tweets from Rat/Nigel/Ty)

KSU football managers are the absolute worst. Woof.

Let me clarify, and please remember I'm just passing along what I've been told by this dude. Sams is the second best, possibly best QB on the depth chart, but we will only pull his reddy in case of emergency, such as a few weeks ago, but 8man is right, it won't happen this year.
And do you have info to refute 2? Serious question. That's what this guy heard from teammates, but admittedly not from Snyder, so it could just be rumors THEY saw.

Bo Tillman???
will Sams get Slashed this next year as a wilcat/receive/tailback?

I hope not. I would rather utilize him as starting QB against the KU's and ISU's of the world so Klein can get a week's rest and not look like a zombie by the end of the year.

There's a future NFLer that red-shirted and he's not listed in this thread (yet).

Not a skill position so there's that.

Also according to a manager I know.... Sams has been playing scout team WR. Apparently played a better Broyles than Broyles himself, and torched our first string defense in practice... not hard to believe though. Also was mentioned that it would be hard for Sams to beat out Klein, but Sams will be a factor in some facet.
Also said baby lockett WILL be back next season. Had to sit out 3 months on doctor's order.

I dunno... my manager also told me that he hasn't seen or heard from Bryce Brown since the plane landed after Miami. Also said the OC called it that BB would quit on the season after getting benched for missing that block in said game.

Should hire Ryan Atwood and have him cruit' Chino and the OC exclusively. Him and Seth just drive back and forth.

I don't know why SLamur didn't get some reps during the season to spell CK. Well......maybe he can't spell CK. Seriously though. In the limited snaps I have seen with him at QB, he looks to be an effective runner, might be a little more shifty than CK, and could be a better passer. When somebody earlier in the year said that CK would be dead by the end of the year with the punishment he was taking, I said "who cares?". There is a clone as a back-up and HCBS will ride the chamber until he just gives out. Sortta like what Rooster Cogburn did in True Grit to Little Blackie when Mattie Ross of Yale County was bitten by a rattl'r and needed a Dr. pronto. And I'm not talking about the True Grit that didn't have Glen Cambell in it.

I expect Tillman to start and play well. (Along with that other juco kid we have coming in.) I think Seau will play decent minutes and be okay. Thought Harvill quit? Daily would be a nice boost if he's decent.

crap, Harvill got hurt lifting or something, right? Can't remember.

saw Tuggle on a special teams play against UT. Thought he was a 3 x 2. Guess not. Not real optimistic that if he is a 2 x 2 and all he played was on a few special teams, he will see the field much next year.

Those words of yours painted a very descriptive and clear picture of what CK mission is on OB's team. You know he loves that horse, but will ride him to death for a Dr. Pepper. Next year when Klein breaks a leg, OB will shoot him and saddle up his new horse..."Sweet Sam". Haa Who, get going little doggies; we're going win the big one next year. :ksu: :emawkid: :crossfingers:

figured since we're talking redshirts and greyshirts might throw this in there since both Burns and Bender join the team in January for Spring. And, yes, Bender is a mid-year signee which is great, great news.
These are combine #s as sophomores in high school for Sams, Burns, and Bender...keep in mind sophs get a little stronger and FASTER.
Tay Bender (6'2 196 and a sophomore-licious 4.47 40): http://www.nationalunderclassmen.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=23100&ATCLID=204977644 (http://www.nationalunderclassmen.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=23100&ATCLID=204977644)

Maybe, if it was a very short pass, but if not too accurate if he was trying to hit WR down field. His feet are not set and it is very hard to pass on the run.

It is adidas. pretty much every school in NE is adidas. because it sucks. and is ugly. and NU is adidas.

Surely Glenn Gronkowski will contribute in some capacity in the near future. Believe he is currently a grey shirt and 3 out 4 of his siblings play in NFL. :gocho:

Their dad has some top shelf skeet in that flesh balloon of his. :runaway:

I think he was just looking for an opportunity to use the phrase "top shelf skeet in that flesh balloon of his," which he did to perfection.

Skeet shooting has taken on a whole new meaning.

Tay Bender or Daniel Sams. They both are dreamy.

Play both with CK on the field at the same time. WildWildcat formation.

CODY WHITEHAIR! :emawkid: :ksu: :excited:
I wouldn't be surprised. I have seen him play...got the body and the feet that would make Matt Boss jealous.
Oh man! I can't wait to watch him pull on a short-side option, and then GET TO THE SECOND LEVEL! :emawkid:  :excited:
You will wait until clams release his "all second level" team.

Not very many QB's can pass like that at highschool level . Looks like Synder and the boys are finding the DITR for our future QB's. :emawkid:

Jeez, I'll never thought we would be talking about how good our QB's will be under Synder. Brings me back to the turn of the century.

D. Sams! Glad you made it into the thread! How bad are you gonna beat out T-Bendy? Scale of 1-10 is what I'm looking for.

And if you look at the progression of the boys, oldest to youngest, they all got better from watching the next oldest brother work. Gordie, Jr. was the slowest, running a 5.6 40 before developing enough speed to get a shot in pro baseball. Chris and Dan were next -- both making the NFL. Rob is the second-youngest, and the standout at this point. But Gordy says the best athlete of all is the one you haven't seen yet -- Glenn.
"My youngest guy," Dad says, "that is my best all-around athlete. He can play any single sport and be in the top 5 percent. He’s 6-3. He's the fastest one."
Glenn is going to Kansas State to play football. He grayshirted this semester. His dad wanted him to put on some weight. He's running a 4.6 40 now. At a (relatively) diminutive 6-3, Glenn might be more Wes Welker than Rob Gronkowski. We'll all find out.

The Gronkowski vid if you haven't seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLDZH6_kG9A
Do not miss the pick at 5:50. Unreal.
They said he was recruited as a fullback, but I think the kid could play free safety. He had 8 INTs his senior year.
He could step right in for Hartman next year.
-
Bo Tillman???
No longer on team.
-
We are so lucky to have the Wes Welker of Gronkowskis.
-
Tilman is still on the roster. I kinda figured we decided to redshirt him after his early season injury. :dunno:

Nope, Cassidy confirmed today that Tillman told him he's gone. No reason given.
