Nice relaxing long weekend... (http://espn.go.com/blog/big12/post/_/id/39860/what-to-watch-in-the-big-12-in-week-13)

As we wait for the Cats to at worst finish 2nd in one of the top 2 conferences in college football, which of Ubben's fantastic story lines are you looking forward to this weekend. #rg3 trying to keep up with #ckmvp? Mack trying to save his job? Gill vs P-dwi-nkel? Scout the havers?

id much rather be playing this weekend and have the opportunity to keep our momentum, and have the longer break before heading to dallas for the cotton.

i hate the b12 for moving this game out a week to compensate for not having a ccg.

Klein needs a week off to recover. We'd lose if he had to play again this weekend.

Who is going to be cheering their ass off for the Hawks this weekend?  I do every weekend (unless they are playing us, lol) but this week extra hard.  This is a big rivalry game that will pretty much seal the coffin on their rivalry with MU.  I want to see our Kansas brothers go out on top.  WHO'S WITH ME!?

Not nervous. Snyder at the helm, waters calm, team will be prepared and one week healthier. :ksu:

Will be cheering for KU, ISU, TT, Ohio State, Oregon State, Stanford, and Tulsa.

As long as we don't have a rematch from the SEC in the NC, then the SEC can only get two teams in. LSU winning and 'Bama losing would be ideal, in that regard.

Not correct. The SEC only gets 2 even if they're both in the NC game, unless neither of those teams wins the SEC championship, which I can't see happening.

probably not. they have to be in the top 14 to be in contention. unlikely that they shoot all the way up unless there are upsets ahead of them.

There's something else about their agreement since they're an independent, and I think they have to meet a minimum W/L criteria.

Edit: Just checked, and they are an at large if they win nine games and finish in the Top 14.

It is a rough ridin' joke that michigan will be in a bcs game.

Well, they're pretty much as deserving as we are to be 100% honest.

Besides, there are scenarios where we're just as likely to make the BCS as an at-large eligible Michigan.  There are five SEC teams in the Top 14 and two non-AQ teams, which means there are pretty much four spots in the Top 14 that are ineligible.

There are really only two things that can happen that would prevent us from going to the BCS at this point:

1) KSU loses to ISU
2) OU beats OSU

KSU, should we win, will probably sneak into the Top 10 after next weekend.  After that, it's all OU/OSU.  And even if OU beats OSU and we go to the Cotton Bowl, the consolation is a share of the Big 12 title.

It's all win/win provided we beat ISU.

The BCS does not have to, and won't, take TCU or Boise State as an at-large, no matter how high they are ranked. Their only chance was to be an AQ, and Boise State can't AQ because they won't win the Mountain West, and TCU will win the Mountain West but won't be ranked high enough (top 16).

Similarly, Notre Dame won't finish high enough even if they beat Stanford, and Stanford won't drop low enough even if they lose. That game is irrelevant.

If Ohio State can just win this game, the Big 12 gets two!

If by "earn it," you mean Michigan will get in ecause they are... Michigan, then yes. Otherwise, no. Michigan will finish 9-3 in an inferior conference. It will be a travesty if the second-best conference in the nation only gets one BCS spot simply because the media slobbers all over teams in the Pac 12 and Big 10.

Because the Top 14 is so littered with SEC teams that there are too many ineligible teams taking up spots.  It may end up that there won't be much 'selection' involved.  Teams will be forced to take the ten eligible teams in the Top 14.

Ohio State had about as many chances there as possible. Missed almost a sure TD.

It is a rough ridin' joke that michigan will be in a bcs game.

only up 3 with 7 min left. but, Michigan will have earned it if they win today.

If by "earn it," you mean Michigan will get in ecause they are... Michigan, then yes. Otherwise, no. Michigan will finish 9-3 in an inferior conference. It will be a travesty if the second-best conference in the nation only gets one BCS spot simply because the media slobbers all over teams in the Pac 12 and Big 10.

won't they finish 10-2?  thought they only lost to msu and iowa?

You are right, but I still hate them.

ran 15 seconds off the clock.......then spiked it on 3rd down to set up 4th and 6.... Probably the dumbest thing I've seen all season.

the only logical explanation i have is that osu hates the wildcats.  that was criminally negligent of them.

Why on earth are you assuming the big 12 is going to get 2 teams into bcs games?

Because the Top 14 is so littered with SEC teams that there are too many ineligible teams taking up spots.  It may end up that there won't be much 'selection' involved.  Teams will be forced to take the ten eligible teams in the Top 14.
we want a LSU - Bama rematch to maximze BCS slots for KSU cats right?

Or having OSU in the title game. Either or.

since LSU vs. Bama seems more likely...that's the scenario I'm pulling for.

and OU had better snap out of it or I think Ostate beats them without much trouble. OU looked like crap today.

Yes, my head is telling me to move on from the co champ dream and focus only on BCS - OU looks like poop.

Will still be Boomer Sooner next sat

Big12 isn't going to get 2 in the the BCS unless Southern Miss beats Houston.  Bama is rolling.  Oregon is rolling.  Even with a Stanford loss they aren't dropping out of the top 14.  An LSU loss next week isn't dropping them out of the top 2.

The at-large pool for 2 spots will be:
Boise State
Michigan
Kansas State
Stanford
Oklahoma or Oklahoma State or Baylor (it doesn't really matter)

The first at-large to the Sugar is Michigan, the 2nd at-large to the Fiesta isn't going to be a Big12 team to play a rematch.  Stanford can loses tonight and still get that spot.

So, Stanford in this game right?  Would guarantee UND can't sneak in the BCS?

Yeah, there is no way we get a BCS bid.  And OSU will likely get the Cotton if they lose.  God dammit.

I think the Sugar will have 2 at-larges though.
