that is beautiful. I LOL'd when KU had 9 coming to the box off Klein's option fake with Hubert.

_Fan - these breakdowns are better than watching porn and eating strawberry ice cream with your special lady friend.

Good work. I hope Klein can make some good throws this week.
-
glad you mentioned the Lockett mistakes. Thought he could have easily scored on the last play of the 1st half.

So this explains "Please bear in mind that this week, I have lacked sleep, drank way too much mt dew at work, and have failed to properly bang my wife. By the way, ice cream is not only messy, but very cold and affects the north/south direction of the flesh sword. Try hot chocolate syrup next time.

good stuff so far _fan, double check your writing though. In a few places you missedaspace.

Dang, those goEMAW editors get paid too much to miss that stuff.

Harper would have been able to karaoke into the end zone on that play. There was no safety over the top, no KU player within 20 yards of him in any direction at the time Lockett caught the pass.

There was a safety over the top, but he basically had to play both Lockett and Harper on that half of the field. I agree that if the throw is to Harper he likely scores, but if Lockett gets vertical and angles out to Harper (so he can block) he also likely scores.

Yeah sorry, wasn't saying the Lockett toss was a bad decision by any means. I just remember seeing the play live, and it looked like the safety on that side of the field cheated over Lockett before the ball was actually thrown or Klein even committed. It amazed me that a simple go route on the boundary could have been that wide open.

When defenses load the box with that many people there are only so many coverage possibilities. Plus, an unbalanced formation like we gave them (1 TE and 2 WR to one side and 1 TE to the other) causes even more problems. Throw in down and distance and place on the field (1st and 10, inside our own 30) and KU simply played the tendancy (that we'd likely run) and loaded the box while playing 2 deep safeties over the top (cover 2) in case we did pass. Snyder won the chess game there, though honestly its not hard to do against KU much of the time. The zone read play action pulled any threat KU had with inside backers or their outside safeties (since they play a 4-2-5) to get underneath the route to make it difficult to throw. Just a very well executed play and the success was magnified because we broke a tendancy by passing on 1st and 10 fairly deep in our own territory.

Most analysts will tell you that if Klein had a "real" throwing motion, Lockett would have scored. ;)
