...full force on the "Pay Bill" bandwagon...
-
loved it when Petro suggested that if Snydes was ever the coach at The Ohio State, he may have 2 or 3 titles by now :surprised:
-
I don't think Keitzman understands that Snyder is only the 2nd year of a 5 year contract extension, and NO, he does not need an extension at this time.

BITB clearly said Snyder is in the 3rd year of his 5 year contract with 2 years remaining. So, if you are correct about the contract, you are correct about his understanding.

Chuck Neinas is the Andy Rooney of Conference Commissioners.

It's good, but it's no 07 UT or anything. It's definitely not "He would win 8 NC's if he was at Florida" good.

Stan Weber is the best college football analyst ever :horrorsurprise:
-
Seems like Bill has done very well when he had quality assistants and was able to recruit well. I would assume those things would be true at an OSU or UF. Give the dude 20 yrs at OSU, he could win 2 NCs. Lots of lessor coaches have won NCs.

If we had lost to Miami, I don't think people would be this excited. It's the back to back fantastic wins that feel so special. If we beat Mizzou, I'm not sure I will be able to contain myself.
-
I'm not saying that LHCBS is LMJC (Legendary Messiah Jesus Christ), but if he can get us to 7-0 and get gameday back in Manhattan (which is a huge if), the guy is basically the Bill Brasky of college football coaches.

I really don't understand the point of an extension/raise. Is he going anywhere?

I hear several NFL teams are interested.

Hey, enough with the logic already. :lynchmob:
-

Can't we just pay him with clear calm water?
-
What the hell does he need with money anyway? He literally does nothing but work and he's gonna be dead before he retires again. I think if we were to offer him a fund to pay for christmas presents for his grandkids, he'd sign for life.

BITB just dropped NBAF, Forbes #1 and :AA: in the span of 20 seconds.

I'm extremely sensitive about the choice of footwear of my football coach.
-
I really don't understand the point of an extension/raise. Is he going anywhere?
No, he isn't going anywhere, but there are tangible reasons.
1) Recruiting.
2) Attractiveness of the job for the next coach.
-
If an extension/raise will do those things, give it to him. It's not like the job isn't his until he retires anyway. If we can get back to a perenial top-25 type team, we may be able to land a quality coach next time. It's not like Snyder is bad for business, quite the contrary.

Wouldn't the attractiveness of the job depend more on what we would offer the next coach and not so much what we paid the old coach?
-
Lol what is bill going to do recruit less if we don't pay him?
-
No, the thought is that players will be more comfortable signing with Bill if they believe he will be their coach for the full 4/5 yrs. Obviously, an extension doesn't actually matter because Bill will be here as long as he chooses regardless, but it's supposed to look better to the outside.
-
Seems like Bill's situation could be used in a negative sense by other coaches. "Don't sign with him, he won't be there much longer." At least an extension could be used by our staff as proof that Snyds will be around awhile. That's the thought process, anyway.
-
I remember when Bill was the 2nd highest paid coach in the Big 12 at like $2 million a year right before we hired Ron Prince.
-
Bill gets NO raise.
-
Isn't Bill at about 2 mil/yr now? Coaches get paid stupid money these days, adding a bit to his wouldn't be a bad thing. We want potential replacements to think fondly of our program/AD.
-
Currie isn't going to give snyder a raise, the idea that he would even consider it is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).
-
About $1.9 million this year.
-
$1.9 is pretty damn low. If coaches think that's all we pay our GOAT, it will surely shrink the pool from which we have to choose from.
-

He is definitely in year 3 of five. Currie extended Snyder, Patterson, and Hill his first summer here. This was a strong talking point of the Pay Frank campaign.
-
If Bill can get through the season without losing 3 out of 4 games in a row (not kidding OU,OSU,UT,TAMU), pay the man (in butterscotch candy).

...and butter pats.
-
You act like only winning 1/4 against ranked teams is a sign of poor production. I would be very happy with 2 wins in the stretch. Super boner time with 3 wins. Thats four week stretch is as tough as any team in the country will face.

And throw in the Pinocchio Director's Cut DVD and a high-grade edition of Tiddlywinks as a bonus.

We will pay when the time comes. Coaches will know this. Snyder could get more now if he wants it. But he's 72 years old and, by and large, he seems to be totally focused on the youngsters at this point in time.
-
Yes, because anyone with a strong business sense would say: "Hey, they're only paying their best coach, ever, less than 2 mil but I'm totally sure they will back up the truck for me."
-

Kinda thinking you're a sock for Bill.
-
I really can't imagine Snyder gives a eff at this point what his salary is. Perception to future coaches might be an issue though.
-
Wasn't very long ago that a million bucks a year was a big-time salary. And it wasn't very long ago that Stoops was the highest paid coach in the Big 12 at two million per year. Not that I don't think we will be able to afford a good coach in the future since we are rich and all, but just reflecting on how fast things have changed in college football. Same thing with how quickly our press box has become outdated.
-
LOL at thinking we need to pay the current coach to entice the next coach.
-
Sheesh. I mean, is naming the stadium after you and employing/marrying off your entire family not enticement enough for the next guy?
-
Currie up next with BITB

BITB played a soundbite of Webb. Basically said the fans suck for leaving at half time even when KU was up 3 points at half.

For those of you who didn't hear Currie today on BITB, he said Snyder's contract is a rolling 5 year contract with incentives and elevators. K-State 2025 indeed.

Not poor production, actually meant it is kind of what is expected (1 or less), if he wins 2 great  if he wins more than two roll out the effin carpet get this man a pay raise dod part 2 :sdeek: is back.

K-State 2025 indeed.
