Title: Tyler Lockett
Post by: DQ12 on September 05, 2011, 07:43:28 PM
Man, I was pretty impressed with him.  Hate that he fumbled on that post route, but for a freshman, he was making a lot of plays.

Will be nice to have him for four years.

Love how all the "they're going to redshirt lockett" posters have immediately shut their whorish mouths.

I will readily admit that I thought Tyler would redshirt. Color me un-dissappointed. Also what happenedwith that WR from Liberal with the girls name? Ruby Susan or something...someone told me he is going to play bball at Seward County. :bracketmouse: :bracketmouse:

I think a lot of people thought Tyler was going to redshirt because Tyler said he was going to redshirt.  :dunno:

He is carrying the ball like a loaf of bread. Looks like the 'come and get it' and/or 'share the pig' ball carrying techniqe...sources tell me that most coaches don't really like this.   If he can't hold onto the ball I would rather see any other receiver on the field instead of him. You can have all the talent in the world but if you can't hang on to the ball you're going to be on the bench.

Coachable? Like... don't stare down your WR's so you almost throw 3 picks coachable?

That's a little different than holding on to the rough ridin' ball, which daddy should duck tape his hands to it and beat the crap out of him till he learns.

Dude's a true freshmen, playing in his first game.  Jesus dudes, cut him a little slack.  The kid has plenty enough talent, he'll learn to protect the ball better.  And DLew is correct, sometimes people fumble.  crap happens.

Didn't see the game, but while listening to Wyattvision, it sounded like the fumble play was due to two concurrent hits by defenders -- one high, one low -- very soon after the catch, which ordinarily would result in a fumble by anyone. Anyone to confirm or deny via HD?

One hit but a big one. Was a tough catch to hold on to.

I saw the hit clear as day (via Wyattvision) and I can tell you that no one could have held on to that ball.  No one?

No one.

I agree. That's how I saw it. Plus, that reception by Brod(?) clearly went for little or no gain on 3rd and long, which is going to bring up -- oh, um -- well, he actually got 9 or 10 on that -- um, excuse me... 1st down K-State!

No idea what you all saw that makes you so giddy.

He danced around on a return and didn't gain yards, and fumbled.

I'm mostly pissed because TL gave up the ball in a way-too-close game.

If the 40 - 0 blow out we expected, had materialized, no one would care about one fumble.

When we get ahead by 40, Tyler can carry the ball like a stinky diaper and no one will care.

You just watch. He's going to our primary offensive weapon by the end of the year and an elite punt returner. That was obvious in his 5 touches.

Besides, I'd rather have a player with a chip on his shoulder than a blue chip player thank you very much.
