Man, I was pretty impressed with him. Hate that he fumbled on that post route, but for a freshman, he was making a lot of plays.
Will be nice to have him for four years.
-
Love how all the "they're going to redshirt lockett" posters have immediately shut their whorish mouths.
-
yes, he looks good
-
yes, he looks good
Can't wait for the Sams/Lockett connections.
-
he did nothing to make me really feel this way, but i think he'll be the next "big name" kick/punt return guy at tKSU
-
I will readily admit that I thought Tyler would redshirt. Color me un-dissappointed. Also what happenedwith that WR from Liberal with the girls name? Ruby Susan or something...someone told me he is going to play bball at Seward County. :bracketmouse: :bracketmouse:

I know this sounds really powertardy, but I haven't been this excited about a young receiver since Jordy.

I think a lot of people thought Tyler was going to redshirt because Tyler said he was going to redshirt. :dunno:
-
saw kevin and aaron walking around the field before the game and got all :ksu:
also made me feel really old b/c I saw kevin play and now I'm watching his son play

you know who kevin lockett's son playing doesn't make feel old? no one, because i have heard every person in the universe say that.

Was Tyler conceived on campus? :lynchmob:

Not unless it was on a recruiting visit.

He is carrying the ball like a loaf of bread. Looks like the 'come and get it' and/or 'share the pig' ball carrying techniqe...sources tell me that most coaches don't really like this. If he can't hold onto the ball I would rather see any other receiver on the field instead of him. You can have all the talent in the world but if you can't hang on to the ball you're going to be on the bench.

doesn't sound very coachable :frown:

wheat or white?

What the hell is wrong with Tyler Lockett? Stop defending him people! He nearly lost us the game! No excuses don't fumble the football like that

Coachable? Like... don't stare down your WR's so you almost throw 3 picks coachable?

That's a little different than holding on to the rough ridin' ball, which daddy should duck tape his hands to it and beat the crap out of him till he learns.
-
Sometimes people fumble.
-
Dude's a true freshmen, playing in his first game. Jesus dudes, cut him a little slack. The kid has plenty enough talent, he'll learn to protect the ball better. And DLew is correct, sometimes people fumble. crap happens.
-
Didnt seem very fast imo

i see what you did there.
-
lockett looks to me like a long bomb specialist. to me, that's my favorite player- high impact long bomb specialists are a rare speciality, a rareiality.
-
Didn't see the game, but while listening to Wyattvision, it sounded like the fumble play was due to two concurrent hits by defenders -- one high, one low -- very soon after the catch, which ordinarily would result in a fumble by anyone. Anyone to confirm or deny via HD?

One hit but a big one. Was a tough catch to hold on to.

I saw the hit clear as day (via Wyattvision) and I can tell you that no one could have held on to that ball. No one?
No one.

I agree. That's how I saw it. Plus, that reception by Brod(?) clearly went for little or no gain on 3rd and long, which is going to bring up -- oh, um -- well, he actually got 9 or 10 on that -- um, excuse me... 1st down K-State!
-
kstatesports K-State Sports
Snyder: Tyler (Lockett) did fine. Other than putting the ball on the ground, he handled himself well.

Move along....
-
He danced around like a rough ridin' idiot during kick returns. A rough ridin' idiot.
-
No idea what you all saw that makes you so giddy.
He danced around on a return and didn't gain yards, and fumbled.

SQUAWK ALERT
-
whenever lockett would touch the ball, me and my buddies would yell "Lock'n Load" at the very top of our lungs. was fantastic.
-
he did nothing to make me really feel this way, but i think he'll be the next "big name" kick/punt return guy at tKSU
His name consists of four syllables, so there's that.

I like to think his dad factored that in when naming him.

Oh ya; I also had the exact same thought.

"Hey hun, what name would sound good when chanted, like 'Hmm-hmm-Lock-ett, clap, clap, clap-clap-clap'?"
-
I'm mostly pissed because TL gave up the ball in a way-too-close game.
If the 40 - 0 blow out we expected, had materialized, no one would care about one fumble.
When we get ahead by 40, Tyler can carry the ball like a stinky diaper and no one will care.

Amen. People need to stop hanging off of Lockett's sack. He did nothing to impress, imo.

You just watch. He's going to our primary offensive weapon by the end of the year and an elite punt returner. That was obvious in his 5 touches.
Besides, I'd rather have a player with a chip on his shoulder than a blue chip player thank you very much.
-
...If the 40 - 0 blow out we expected...
who is "we"?

I know this sounds really powertardy, but I haven't been this excited about a young receiver since Jordy.
you mean when he was playing corner :ck:

Remember when he caught that long TD @ Tech and it looked like we might not get boat raced? Oh man. Heady times.

:ck:
only for the pointyball cats.
-
Yeah, the roundballcats call sophomores "future transfers."
-
Worse hands than his Dad, slower than his uncle.
Isn't he the fastest player on the team? :frown:
