I think I convinced myself it was the end of the year because there was some really awful weather. :flush: to me.

*Louisiana-Monroe. Another fun fact is that James Terry was number 82 during that season, but he switched to number 5 for the '03 season.

Jordy's behind the back catch against Baylor (not sure if it was Baylor).

Larry Smith's wife yelling at his players from the stands. :emawkid:
KSU winning one over KU (16-12) for a kid with Leukemia who went to Theodore Roosevelt. Kid spent much of the game in a tent by the hill but it was still very  for us to pull out that squeaker over the squawkers, amirite?
Suicide bomber @ OU game.

-
Jeff Schwinn 50+ yard carry during 64-0!
-
Marshall ('05) throwing an interception while in field goal range at the end of the game was pretty funny.
-
Jaime Mendez 3 INT game.
Joe Hall long run.
Cats score 21 points on like 4 snaps to start the game against Tony Romo.
Sproles getting injured as a true FR.
Ron Prince era opening with an INT.

Okay I have one, try this one on for size. It's a pleasant morning in Austin, Texas in 2003. The CTR is cookin' and College GameDay is on hand. They talk about the QB controversy between longtime Longhorn stud Chance Mock and some newcomer hotshot named Vince Young. UT fans in the crowd at GameDay are very very very racist of course and they all hold up signs that say "Don't Mock Our Chance" and "Hey Lee! Don't Mock Our Chance, Okay??" Another fan has a sign that says "Go Bayside, Beat Valley." Another UT fan has a sign that says "Kansas Has No Trees." Finally, another UT fan has a sign that says "Darren Sproles On A Toilet" and is accompanied by a crude cartoon of a generic football player on a toilet, complete with spinny legs tacked onto the sign like a pinwheel. Do those legs blow in the Texas breeze? Yes, yes they do.
-
Ron Prince era opening with an INT.
Off P/A. LOL.
Roy Williams (TX version) riding the sideline bike while the students serenaded him: "I like to ride my bicycle, I like to ride my bike."
Bill Whittemore getting knocked out early when ku thought they had a chance.
Adam freaking Helm.

Adam freaking Helm.
At least Helm had Iowa State.

anyone else remember the home game against CU where we ran a bounce pass off the turf from Matt Miller to Mitch Running
-
You people have amazing memories.

anyone else remember the home game against CU where we ran a bounce pass off the turf from Matt Miller to Mitch Running
95. Terrible ending.
-
anyone else remember the home game against CU where we ran a bounce pass off the turf from Matt Miller to Mitch Running
95. Terrible ending.
Didn't CU get the leading score w/ under a minute left on a deflected pass that traveled 15 yards straight to a CU player alone behind our perfect coverage? The bounce pass was basically the final play of the game trying to get a score from around the 50 yes?
-
not sure if this counts but bobby walker with back to back pick 6's against isu, i remember thinking "that guy is gonna be a good one"

The bounce pass came on a ridiculous drive where Snyder pulled out all that he could and the Cats took the lead with around 3 minutes left.
CU then proceded to drive for a score, finishing with a long pass (I believe) over the top of our current recruiting coordinator.
Then the Cats got the ball back and proceeded to snap the ball early before Miller was ready, the ball rolled into the endzone and CU recovered for the final 10 point margin.
-
not sure if this counts but jesse tetuan(sp) with back to back pick 6's against isu, i remember thinking "that guy is gonna be a good one"
:ksu:
Sure you don't mean Bobby Walker?
-
JFC dude
-
not sure if this counts but jesse tetuan(sp) with back to back pick 6's against isu, i remember thinking "that guy is gonna be a good one" constantly getting burned and making every q@ fan punch themselves in the face out of sheer anger. So much so that after every game we would mix up every liquor we had into this revolting concoction and make ourselves take them. They were called Jesse Tetuan Shots. Because they were really really bad, get it?
:ksu:
FYP, bro.
-
I really liked the "Saturday Night" song pre game thingy for that destruction of Seneca Wallace. Saturday night home games were ridiculously fun back in the DOD.

yes. good memory _FAN.
this game's ending killed me. it was almost as bad as the previous time we played CU at home in 93 and tied the losers 16-16.
-
damn, yeah it was bobby walker, not sure where i got jesse from. many apologies
-
God I hated that tie. Hated it so much and still do.
-
and it wasn't joe's fault, we shouldn't have been in man coverage.

would have made for fantastic bbsing on GPC.
-
and it wasn't joe's fault, we shouldn't have been in man coverage.
True, but I'll never forget him frantically trying to recover after the CU receiver was 10 yards behind him.
-
also carlos alsup dropping a sure touchdown against marshall. broke my remote on that play
-
I think Ron's last play as HC ended with a meaningless ISU TD?
-
florida atlantic during prince's first year...heavy rain that lasted for freaking ever. pwr_cat00 and I were freezing our balls off and the lady that sat next to us pulled out like 12 trashbags from her purse and we dried the F out.
-
During that rain delay they played CCR and it was kind of glorious.
Ron Prince called time out with 0:01 left in his last game (against ISU). "Ha ha! I'm still your coach for a little bit longer! Chumps."
-
Amazing amount of passion about Freemie being allowed to sneak in short yardage situations his FR year.

Does that count :dunno:

Liquor store marquee score predicto on Ft Riley that referred to Temple as "the Cosby kids"
-
Loss to Marshall in 2003...
Kansas State (4-1) had one last chance to force overtime, when Schwinn's 33-yard pass to Darren Sproles gave the Wildcats a first down at the Marshall 3 with 25 seconds left. The Wildcats were unable to get past the 2, though, and Schwinn's throw to Davin Dennis fell incomplete in the end zone as time ran out.
Davin Dennis = Worst.WR.Ever! Couldn't even catch a ball on NCAA 2003
-
I think Ron's last play as HC ended with a meaningless ISU TD?
Yes. The Iowa State players were celebrating after they scored, even though the game was over and they lost. It was fantastic.
-
KU 08 where we opened the game with about 11 play fakes in a row.
Man that was brutal.
-
Home game vs. Texas Tech in 07 (?) when the scoreboard was busted for a while and they had to cycle the KSU score up to get it back to normal. Enjoyed seeing the scoreboard say KSU-96 TT-13 or something. This was probably 1st quarter, when I already knew that was the only time I'd see us winning in that game.

Driving back to Kansas on a Thursday afternoon for the Nebraska game last year, and BITB was just railing on Nebraska and their fans for two hours straight. It was so volatile and he was so mad and I was so jacked up and thought there was no way we could possibly lose that game. And then some drunk Nubb fans in the parking lot were about to beat up Weird Robert and then there was NO WAY we were going to lose and I was SO PUMPED.
And then Snyder called an option right on 4th and 2 as we were driving on the first possession of the game, and Turn Your Head And Coffman had cement feet and couldn't get two yards and it was totally deflating.
And then we met Taylor Martinez.
Goddammit.

Following his seal the deal INT in the '03DrP - Ted Sims running down the OU sideline mocking the entire team.
Lining up ST for a punt, one problem - no punter.
Me and my bros walking into a party only to see Cooper dancing with back against the wall in his boxers and 3 jersey chasers with their hands in the boxers like they were feeling for ripe tomatoes - instantly knew we didn't have a chance, turned around and moved on.

Game against KU in Lawrence in 06. We were coming off the Texas win and things were looking good for the start of another DoD. Cats ran some play action or something on the first series to the tight end from Freeman, huge gain...things were looking good for another kurb-stomping. This was gonna be easy.
Then Ronnie started letting Mangino call our offensive plays.

The Ron Stomp. Not because it was entertaining in and of itself, but the fact that ESPN played it on repeat during Sportscenter for an entire week was entertaining.

Fun fact, NFL great Jason Taylor played for that Akron Zips team. 12 year old nicname could tell he was a baller during warm-ups. He had that "Lamark Brown" type look in a football uni (also with neckroll). He wasn't enough though, 67-0 Cats. Nicname and Nicname's bud were mad we didn't score 70.

1992. K-State lost 16-14 in Norman, but I recall K-State had 1 if not 2 FG attempts that Mitch and lot of K-State fans said were good but the refs said they went wide, and as I recall from the highlights, it sure looked like K-State got jobbed on at least one.
Had K-State had a decent QB that would have been Snyder's first bowl team.

Students balling up the promotional Power Bars they handed out in '95 before the home Minnesota game and throwing them into the band section. Bunch of sousaphones got dented and Tracz was all :curse:.
FEED THE BAND!!!
-
and it wasn't joe's fault, we shouldn't have been in man coverage.
True, but I'll never forget him frantically trying to recover after the CU receiver was 10 yards behind him.
Obviously my memory is fading but I'm almost certain that Joe was in position for the step in front pic when it got deflected up and over the intended target to a waiting recipient for a walk away 60 yard TD here guys...

Possibly, my memory could be failing as well. All I know is after the excitement of the drive to take the lead, quickly giving up a score, then snapping the ball into the endzone for another was a terrible way to end the evening.

Matty Miller to Tyler's dad for a last second win at Cincy.

Freeman on the "hands" team for the onside kick
Freeman running around and throwing it as far in the air as possible to run out the first half against Colorado from our own endzone
Dylan Meier getting his first ever snap and running into his own lineman and fumbling against Marshall
Opening 07 game at Fresno with two long runs for 14-0 lead before getting blown out.
Andre Coleman doing the sportscenter "duh duh duh" into the sideline camera after scoring another TD in rout of Wyoming in Copper Bowl.

Good one. Was :emawkid: really hard.
Also the option right down the nebraska sideline with like 3 minutes to go to Sproles for a long TD.

2003 Big 12 championship Ted Sims interception of Jason White for the final KSU touchdown of the night. Wyatt sounding like kid amped on Rockstar yelling "TED SIMS" :ksu:

Watching the Apocalypse roll into BSFS last year VS. Central Florida! Then watching UCF own us for 3 1/2 quarters only to lose to Coffman in the final minutes! What a  moment for the Golden Knights!
nice, fanning. nice.

Oh boy. I'd forgotten how unpleasant last year's team was to watch. :frown:

Listening to the McElroy Scoreboard Show on the drive home after we won. Also loved when the PA announcer guy used to give dramatic scoreboard updates.

Dylan Meier sports hernia: Fact or Fiction?

LOVED the McElroy Scoreboard show. Later in my McElroy listening days I had a Canadian friend, you don't know him because he's living in Canada nowdays, well anyway he learned how awesome it was to prank call them.
McElroy guy (with generic marching band music playing in the background): Hi, you're on the McElroy Scoreboard Show.
SB's Canadian Friend: Hi, am I on?
McElroy guy: Yes, you're on.
SB's Canadian Friend: Great, thanks, love the show. Hey, do you have the score from the Hoople State/Hobart College game?
McElroy guy: Hmmm, Hoople State/Hobart?
SB's Canadian Friend: That's right.
McElroy guy: Well we're not seeing a score right now, but we'll do our best to get one for you here after the commercial break. Thanks for the call.
SB's Canadian Friend: Okay. Go Wombats.

I dont remember the year or the game, but we once had a "Draxxin Halftime Show". 2005 or so I think. Just amazing.

Saying the "John Houlik saw 3 running backs coming at him, that time he picked out the right one" joke at least once a game in 08.

Hey anyone remember when Terry Allen beat LHC Bill Snyder?
While Terry was coach of Northern Iowa? :fiesta:

Terry Allen having Vietnam-esque flashbacks walking back into BSFS while coaching for Missouri State.
-
And speaking of flashbacks, Asquared getting absolutely annihilated by Groves in the season opener against Auburn. It should have been a telltale sign of complete disregard (or ineptitude) for mid-game adjustments our coaching staff had then. We couldn't even muster up a RB to help protect Freemaw from turrible Quentin Groves.

Pick 6 TD to start the game vs. Fresno State in 04. They then preceeded to give us the beat down of all beat downs.
On the same note, opening against KU in '06 with a big play action from Freeman to Mastrud. Would have been a TD if Mastrud had wheels, but my brother and I were at the game and started talking all kinds of crap, and I don't think we even got a field goal out of that possession.
-
Wow watching the KSU ISU game from 08.
The fake field goal we ran in the 3rd quarter. Most ridiculous play i've ever seen. First of all, we send a guy in motion (DURING A FIELD GOAL). He gets set, and, shockingly, it turns out to be a fake. Anyways, the pass was eventually thrown incomplete to Brooks Rossman on a wheel route, but Brandon Harold was wide open on a post route. Yeah, Brandon Harold. Was open on a post route. On a fake field goal that included sending a guy in motion.
