I've already got the date circled on my calendar. Cannot wait to take the Hawks to the woodshed again. They've done a great job over there in Lawrentucky at rebuilding their roster but I still think it's going to be K-State coming home with the Governor's Cup.
fixed my post, thx y-l-a

I don't know. Coach Gill seems pretty confident in his squad this year. I guess we'll just have to find out come October 22.
One thing I think we can all agree on is that we hope for a competitive game free of injury, and full of the kind of sportsmanship of which the Sunflower State can be proud.
-
Chance of K-State pulling the upset in Lawrence is at 9.98%. KU will be much tougher this year as Gill's 'Hawks will be much faster and much stronger. They have KSU and MU circled and are looking to get to each team with, said speed and strength.
KU wins 9 this year and makes everyone in the nation go "Jinkees!"
-
Gill is really doing things the right way over there in Lawrence, but with "The Coach" game planning and our home grown Kansas kids, and even though I believe Gill may have more talent, I believe our youngsters will out work the hawks and squeeze out a win. I'll be cheering them on in all the other games though. Team, state, conference.

Hurts like hell to root against a guy like Gill, even if it's just one game a year...ya know?
If I didn't own so much rough ridin' stock in a KSU website (this one), I'd be tempted to root for Gill against us as well. It's lose-lose.

I know everyone is laughing at the Gill Quotes (GQ's) but they have me a bit worried.
Why would he say stuff like that if his team is going to suck?

Try to get the Lawrencetucky racist fans off his back for awhile.

I feel sorry for the Lawrencetucky :opcat: fans. They went from Fat Man to Black Man who both get beat by the Old Man. :kstatriot:

I love how people talk about the chances of beating one team or another team. Based on talent, matchups, and intangibles surrounding the game any team could beat another. When the talent disparity is as small as it is between KU and KSU the mathematical percentages of winning and losing are in-between 40 and 60%. Last year's blowout was an anomaly that was fueled by the intagibles surrounding the game and the breaks that happened that turned it into a game that KU's spirit was broken and Murphy's Law kicked in.
We probably have a 10% chance of beating Oklahoma -- about the same chance as Steve Woodberry missing a clutch free throw. Not much, but nobody should be shocked if it happens. The quality of the team should be measured by the performance at the end of the year or over the course of the year.
All in all, I think there is a better chance KU wins the game this year than there is that KSU wins it.
What an apologetic assclown.
That being said, the Hawks of Jay from Kansas have a much formidable squad this year. I'd be surprised if our match against them didn't come down to the last few wickets. When the time comes, and those fearless warriors come charging through that inflatable archway and appear from that haze of smoke, I can only hope are players aren't intimidated. Football works in mysterious ways indeed.
-
It will be a challenge. The rabid fans in Lawrence always make it difficult for the visitor with there great traditions and passion for the gridiron, and now they have strong Christian leadership at the helm. Count me as concerned.

And I'll pray that your prayers are answered. :drink:
-
Also, remember this is a coach who once had a winning season in the MAC -- and he did it the right way. Brace yourselves for a slugfest, Wildcat supporters. This will be an old-fashioned brawl.

Think about the guy with the job of airing up the inflatable tunnel. Just imagine the rush he gets when he's given the go ahead to inflate that SOB on game day.
Inflatable guy's boss: "It's time."

Hilarious part is that we had terrible intangibles surrounding the game last year but we still killed them in regards to intangibles surrounding the game which speaks to how terrible KU's intangibles surrounding the game were last season word out of lawrence is that intangibles surrounding the game were a major area of focus during fall practice so we'll see if they can make it more of a game this season i doubt it though.

Do you think they have a prayer?

I still think we hang at least 40. Will it be enough to win? Yes.

Do you know how to read Katdaddy? All I'm saying is that if they really have improved their intangibles surrounding the game as much as I've heard they could make a game of it. That is if the breaks and Murphy's law aren't total dicks to them again.

Murphy's Law can be a total Dick when OB is swinging it. :gocho:

There is no way ku is beating us. they are still unexpirienced. Have no defence. And their QB did terrible last year. It should be a bit closer though im saying 41 14 Go cats! :ksu:
-
Scary :ohno:
-
Can you not wait or you cannot not wait? Iz confuzed

I originally had us as a 3to1 favorite over Kansas, but up-and-comer HC Turner Gill's comments have given me great pause and I think I'll have to retract my earlier prediction. I mean, the guy must be pretty confident if he is making jokes at our expense. Maybe he was just hustling us last year and 2011 is the money game. I mean, they did beat Georgie Tech, and we all know how great that program is. Facts are facts guys and I just want to see both teams represent the state of Kansas in a fine manner. I hope we win (the only time I ever root for our in-state brothers to lose), but it will be a hard fought victory if we can pull it off.
70% change my Wildcats come home empty handed this year.
-
Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Turner knows what will happens if it turns out he lied to all 13 KU football fans. He won't let it happen

Ummm, you do realize we have a new starting QB and their's is returning? We lost our leading rusher and now have an inexperienced backfield. We have to replace our C and prized long-snapper. I hope this pops some of your balloons to bring you back to reality. We'll be lucky to win 2 conf games. I am just going to the Kentucky game as that's the only one I think we definitely win.
-
Turner/KU used up all of their suck last year....look out. :sdeek:

Wrong board, bro. You fit in better over here http://kansas.scout.com/

They say that a message board posters normally take on the persona of the coach of the team their message board represents..
Turner Gill has his posters focused, I've never been to the Kansas board, heck, I'm not even sure one exists but I KNOW that if it did exist and I went there I would see dozens of prayers threads and guys taking it one game at a time... Not disrespecting or overlooking any opponent, no Turner Gill and his posters are surely studying up on McNeese St. tirelessly..
It seems as if Snyder's fear of Gill has seeped all the way down to this board, it's not even September yet and here you guys are worrying (panicking even) about Oct 22nd.. So much so that you guys spend a majority of your time( that you could be practicing or working on technique) trying to keep JayHawks from infiltrating your board !! I can understand placing a special emphasis on Turner Gill and 'Hawks, you'd be foolish to overlook this divine group of coaches and athletes, but there is such thing as OVER emphasizing to the point where fear consumes you and panic and freeze come crunch time..
Reminds me of a story my late Grandfather used to tell me; 2 bulls sat on top of a mountain overlooking cows grazing in a field, one cow said "hey man, lets run down there and EFF one of those cows!!" The other cow looked at him and said "Son, lets walk down there and pray to them ALL." and that is EXACTLY what they did..
While your posters are worried about Oct22nd and Effing the Hawks, Coach Gill and company are taking it one game at a time and maybe, just maybe, winning them ALL**..
**probably not though, they suck pretty bad.
-
I don't know, if they have that intimidating video of the jahyawk jet doing some carpet-bombing runs, blowing crap away, etc., it could provide an edge. You know how much they love intro videos over at ku, just ask the Baylor basketball team.
-
would be interesting to see GPC if we did lose to Gill.

MiG, i'm sorry you are right. ie need to focus one game at a time. sometimes though when i lay in bed at night, all i can think about is those dreaded hawks and how badly i want to take them so the woodshed. why wouldn't i want to take them to the woodshed? they deserve it. i do agree with your predicto though, they could go undefeated.
-
Can't believe we have a thread discussing the possibility of beating KU. If the guys over at phog find out about this thread they will be so mean to us. :frown:
